Ron, I don't know if you'll see this but lately I've been binging your real book series and it's amazing. I've been watching you on and off for a long time and your talking and stories and lessons and amazing playing just give me so much inspiration, from the stories about interactions with great jazz people and the actual musical content. You're amazing and keep on going!
Thanks very much, Carl! This morning I was watching a video of Max playing with a rapper at The Kitchen, in a video that's on RUclips. He sounds right at home in anything he played!
Very interesting! That Clifford Brown and Max Roach album is in my top 10 jazz albums, Daahoud is an excellent one for soloing practice, great chord changes.
Yeah, though Clifford had the midas touch didn't he, seemed to bring out the best in everybody, his albums with Sarah V and Dinah W I think are their best albums too. Listen to Embraceable You on the Sarah Clifford album for instance, it's close to perfection.

Yes! Thanks for letting me know, and I'm really glad these videos are inspiring you. That's the main thing - to stay energized with your music!
Such a great tune. Would love to have an analysis of the harmony if you’ve got time
bessstiaa, increible!
Thanks Rodrigo!
Niiice! Also, great story at the beginning, thanks for sharing!

Isn't it interesting how sometimes all the planets align for a particular recording session? That album, along with Kind Of Blue, A Love Supreme, etc.

That's a great point, James. I had never thought of that before but I think you're right.
Such great playing from pianist Jimmy Jones too!
Superb yup! Small world, in looking I see Jimmy was the arranger for Billy Taylor's album Kwamina!
awesome
Thanks - great tune that's not played enough!
