That’s crazy how much of doki doki was incorporated into future Mario titles. Not only is shy guy and birdo in all the party games, but the turnip thing is a peach move in ssb. Never thought about lore since I figured there wasn’t much for a children’s game, but this is a good find.
I love retro gaming as well. I own a Switch that has classic Nintendo games via online from NES and SNES generation. I’ll check out that channel.

Super Mario Bros. 3 was released
in 1990 and Super Mario World in 1991 in the North American market. I grew up during this time and the dates seemed off to me so I had to check. Otherwise, great job! Love your channel and retro gaming. Didn't realize you were a fan and had the second channel.

Used to be a shy guy for awhile until I met narcissist & other toxic people then I realized it was alright to be shy lol . Don't like being shy at all I just was . Don't think I wore a mask I was just shy . The real question is why do narcissist wear masks ? Oh this is about a classic video game character lol . Mario Bros was a very fun game used to own that game when I was a kid .

Before even watching your video: I bet it has something to do with a festival.
Nintendo screwed up the physics in Mario 1 and the lost levels when they ported them to Allstars and it makes them harder than they should be. If you want the original experience that's not the best way to play them. Only having that version might be why you hate lost levels so much.
Maybe SML being a handheld game sold better to more casual players

Ah, Super Maro Bros 2. This was the first thing I bought with my own money when I was 6 years old. I spent my life savings ($60-70) on that game shortly after it came out. My parents strongly discouraged me from buying it, but let me in the end. They were probably thinking that I would regret it later and learn a lesson of some sort. So yeah, I gathered together the little bit of money I had made helping my mom with chores along with a bunch of $2 bills, half dollar coins and Susan B Anthony dollars that my grandparents had given me for Christmas and birthdays. My mom drove me to the mall to KB Toys. I handed the cashier my cash, got my meager change back and my copy of SMB2 and took it home to play it. And play it I did. I played the shit out of that game. I have never once regretted my decision to buy it.
I played Super Mario 2 with my great grandmother all the time when I was a kid! Loved it! Cheers all!

I'd say Super Mario Land beat out Mario 3 for the simple fact that it was a handheld game and the GameBoy sold a ton of systems. I think it may have been a pack in at some point for the GameBoy as well. Super Mario land was one of the must-have games for the Gameboy.

I'm sorry to hear to about Suris' channel getting hacked. It certainly explains why your gaming content is here now, though. Are you planning on maybe giving your retro gaming videos like a series name? That way they're easy for people to find?
Also, on Birdo.... the description "a boy who thinks he's a girl" sounds a lot like someone who doesn't recognize transgender people describing a transgender person. Which makes me wonder if Birdo was meant to be such and the language for describing that without sounding narrow-minded just wasn't there yet. Though, that also brings up interesting possibilities regarding sexuality, especially if Birdo is with Yoshi. If Birdo is legitimately male and just likes to dress up feminine, and Yoshi is also male (despite being able to lay eggs....) then Birdo would be gay, but if Birdo is transgender under that same assumption about Yoshi, then Birdo would be heterosexual. However, if Yoshi is actually female, then Birdo being a cross-dressing male would make them heterosexual, while being transgender would make her homosexual. There's also the possibility that Yoshi is a type of lizard that can reproduce asexually, meaning that there may only be one biological sex in their race, which would leave gender entirely up to psychology and presentation. .....Quite frankly, I think that Nintendo will never be able to answer any questions regarding gender and sexuality for either of them definitively. Not because having a gay or transgender character might cause the Christian Mother's Brigade to rain fire and brimstone down upon them, but because the answer will probably be different depending on who is being asked at any given time, and could change depending on the political climate in the place the question is being asked. They've been terrible with consistency so far, and if nothing else, I don't expect that to change.
