If some guy gets shot and dies with no Other special affairs, that will make the city news, maybe the county news if things have been slow lately. If a president gets shot that will no doubt receive national headlines and if its the leader of a 1rst world contry like the usa than its international headlines.
While i agree that what happened to the firefighter shouldn’t be glossed over you gotta think about how society values these people. They are valued by their importance to society, so naturally its leader is valued far higher than a guy who does rescue missions and occasionally deals with fires.
