Revisiting this video gets me excited when I finish repainting and reupholstering my console. I just got it from a junkyard. I ended up with the shifter and console for about $50. Got mine out of a 2003 grand marquis LS Premium. It was a steal besides the console being dirty and needing work. Great video man and your Vic looks great.

Came here for 20:30.... just snapped my cable today and dont remember what I used for the maurader floor shifter swap i did in my 04 sport trac. Just ordered a stock cable earlier today, thank you for confirming sir!! I might try to reroute the way you did too. I cut a hole right in front of the shifter because the cables so short and its a pretty direct path to the tranny, but its a pretty aggressive angle on the cable, and its hard enough to shift as it is for some reason?

I was lucky enough to find a whole set up for a little over 400.00 that came from a 2002 Gran Marquis LSE. Hopefully I will get it installed on my 1999 Base Model by the end of the year.

I bought some flares from clinchedflares.com! And then I cut the fenders. I’m redoin the flares soon I’ll have to walk through exactly what I did when I did the flares
Do you have to do anything to make the reverse lights work
They work without having to do anything! Reverse runs off of your transmission harness if I recall correctly so just as long as your wiring harness is plugged in on your trans your reverse lights will work. Unless it’s an old coo car and they cut some wires they shouldn’t have cut when they were getting rid of their flashy lights lol
Do you know anything about a steering shaft swap to fit mustang headers? I’ve read it may be possible can’t find much info on it thanks

A crown vic lx sport! And then I had to buy the gear selector separately which I got off eBay and that came out of a Mercury marauder

Depends! Can get a floor shifter console for $60 from a guy that doesn’t care and was using the car for a demo derby car or mint ones will go for $350-400 lol they gettin harder to find though

@@michaeldozier671 hmmm good question! This was more for the panther specific floor shifter and even the early 2000s Lincoln continental one would work with this method as well
