I'm new to Davinci Resolve, but already in love with it after two days.
This 3D mapping seems like something I could use to bump map space nebulas for a music video I'd like to make.
Would love to see an update of this vid for 2024. I bet you've learned a lot more on this since this was first posted. Either way THANK YOU for this and many other great tutorials on your channel.
Same!
I'm amazed at all the things one can do with Resolve.
Thanks for all the tutorials, it's very helpful AND inspiring!
Next level editing here! love these kinds of videos!! :)
Good job! There are so many uses for something like this. So glad you are sharing your knowledge. Keep 'em coming.
It's been long since I've been so happy that a recommended video is actually cool and useful. I thought about doing something like this but had absolutely no clue where to even start. I always thought DaVinci is extremely hard to use (well, it still may well be), so I ditched my idea very quickly. Judging by the video, I could achieve this in an hour with some careful works as a beginner, thanks a lot for the idea and the great editing (bringing the camera transparency down is an awesome touch, many forget that!). Thanks, keep up the awesome work!
It's insanely interesting and very useful. Used it to show the location of the site with a nice demonstration of the terrain.
Best soft soft tutorial for beginners on RUclips! I'm an absolute beginner and all the other tutorials I've found on RUclips have been so
You rock, this is really cool and I'm glad you make this stuff understandable.
Many thanks! This is the answer to problems I’d been having for so long. Really neat tutorial as well.
You don't stop to amaze me! Wow. Great tutorial as always!
UAU !!! This is super next level !!! You are the man !!! All your videos are very helpful and useful. I have been learning a lot !!! Thank you very much Jay !!!
This would be a great way to show guys our backpacking trips. Definitely going to have to try to incorporate this in the future.
Thanks for such high quality very well produced content!
One of the most impressive demonstrations I've seen in a long time. Only wish I'd encountered it 18 months ago. Very well done and thanks for sharing.
this is some next level shit Jay!!!
I like the tracking capability you demoed. I'll have to play with this one and send a link to a finished product.
Thank you and keep up the great work!
Vert nice Jay! This is pretty impressive
This is so great Jay ! So helpful...
This video was unbelievably awesome!! Please make more of these tutorials in fusion. Thanks!
You got it!
Excellent video. Clearly explained all the basics to get started on soft soft. Thanks
Well as an architect, i can tell you that one you have this 3D map, you can easily slice it to have topography map and have useful informations of any site you want, so it's reaaaaally useful !
Simply outstanding! Thank you.
Thank you man these videos are super helpful
Great video and really helpful! I couldn't get a grasp on how the setuper works but it's all clear now.
You're really an out-of-the-box-thinking inspiration for me. GIS using geologist here.
I'll never use this myself but that's some damn sci-fi-dream-stuff right there! Very impressive!
Love to see some more 3D stuff. Maybe even just some basics and what the 3D based nodes do.
I have the perfect use for this. Thank you! I’m one week into DaVinci though, so I’m still slow at it.
You r just aweso....i was litterly noob in tNice tutorials...u explained it very simply...thanks i will surely go for next parts of tNice tutorials video.. thanks
Thank u for being a great human being and taking ti to help all of us noobs out cheers
Superb! Thanks JayAre!
Wow what an acNice tutorialevent! Best of luck for the rest of your future, I’m looking forward to being able to invest when I turn 21 in November!
Very cool Jay! Complicated but cool. I'm doing flying films and it could be a great way of showing the area of the action.
I know, you've taught . It ans so much to so many people, you are helping us pursue our dreams! Love from Sweden
Excellent tutorial! This is what I was looking for!! Thanks again
Colour me very impressed. Kudos sir, many much kudos.
This is simply awesome and you make it so simple.
That was fun. Very cool tool you used for this.
clicked on. Very detailed and to the point, thank you so much for tNice tutorials! I subscribed and I look forward to watcNice tutorialng and learning more about
Fantastic video bro, legend.
this is cool man... thanks for sharing it with us... i'm gonna try it for myself... have an merry Christmas an healthy 2019..
Good info for putting up the 'System Used' details.
Excellent tutorial. So many uses for this effect.
Great idea and a great video. I've definitely got a use for this. Thanks.
Great work. The displacement3D node is exactly what I need to work with my depthmattes as I don't have Studio with camera tracker yet.
There are many other sites that provide 3D data like mattes from LIDAR data up to 35cm/pixel and others that output a textured 3D model with proper height scaling directly for 3D printing purposes... You may just want to read a few of the many tutorials on how to make a 3D printed topography map and find what website works for video best and makes the data gathering easier.
Epic tutorial! If possible I would like to see a merge of this one with your other more recent video "Travel Map in DaVinci Resolve". Basically, a flying camera over this map, while tracking an animated line on the ground. This would be ideal for trail runners or hikers to show case their runs/hikes. Thanks!
Man! just what I was thinking during the video!!!!! Yeah! we want this tutorial! :)
@@JoseSpenaN Yep, I just came from the travel map video.
This is a cool one!
what a hearty video for all beginners!
future! Great tutorial and wholeso community! Stay safe in these tis and keep your heads up! Do what you want that inspires you,
will be a fantastic journey!
Cool stuff Jay!
This guy knows so much about resolve I suspect him as a major developer of the software
Very cool. Take it to the next level as an effect like the holographic map from Avatar.
This is awesome. Thanks for this great tutorial!!! I love it!!!!11
great tut!
I was always fascinated by trap soft, been listening to trap long ti and i finally decided that i will try to make my own but i was so
Great one. Cool look, interesting hacks, and funny too.
YOU ARE A GOD... NO QUESTION ABOUT IT
WOW.... That's insane!
very good stuff. Thank you.
I'm going to try and throw it in a travel video intro or something like that. Flying out to Vietnam Monday. Hopefully I can get a chance to throw one together.
This is so cool!
that was so use full! !
Impressive work. I'm just began learning Davinci.
Amazing ... congratulations
In Chrome an extension is no longer needed for a full-page screenshot, just press F12, then Ctrl+Shift+P, then type "screen" and pick the "Capture full-size screenshot".
You might not want to cover Maps copyright notice in the bottom-right in your videos as that's against the Maps data usage policy.
I don't even need to make a 3d map yet but these are so educational. Thank you.
Oh man! you are great!
This was amazing! Could you do a tutorial that focuses on using some of the 3d lighting nodes?
When you showed that sky-island like tracked model i was like "WOOOOOOOW"
Good tutorial, although i'll never use it with my toaster xD
fire video, thanks bro
Great work. Thanks for the tips.
Very nice! Thank you. I will use this for sure :-).
This is so cool!😎
I wonder if this would be cool for 3D travel tracking e.g. riding, running, driving etc? It might be a little overkill since there seems like there are other ways to do it but this is easily the highest resolution I've seen for this style
Very cool! Lots of possiblities for this to make accurate real world 3D maps, or to make your own fantasy world 3D maps using custom created grayscale images for the elevations. Could make giant faces on Mars... Recreate Stone Henge or the pryamids in 3D...
Too Cool!
Wow, nice one!
Thanks!
very nice and helpful! Thx
Amazing!!!
Good one!!!
Very cool thanks
Perfect tuto. Thanks
to! Can’t wait to buy it, and getting startet!
Damn. Nice job. I realy couldn't find a proper tutorial explaining everytNice tutorialng you needed clearly but then i found tNice tutorials treasure of a video.
I feel 10x more confident in soft soft, thanks!
Gonna use this for a geology video. Thanks!
good job! i bet you are great at making s! good luck
Amazing technique! I can see a use for it in game development, maybe as a base for replicating real-life locations :p
YES! I LOVE YOU!
We used to do this for placing mats on Bryce & poser objects many moons ago. All fun
that's so cool
Excellent content... subd!!
I've been following the tutorial and it's going well however I'm at an impasse. The background is on top of the 3d image of the mountain. I can see the mountain if I reduce the opacity. I can't see the parameter to adjust to fix this.
I thought maybe if the terrain was below sea level like in Holland then it would be adjusting the displacement of the landscape but it's not that. Any help greatly appreciated. I know it must be easy but I'm going in circles. Thanks a lot!!!
Cool. I didn't know you can do this with the Davinci Resolve.
Badass 👍 good, superb stuff, and specially thanks 🙏 for contributing all that links of your search results and of course that Fusion stuff. I am totally new to Fusion (and with that node stuff a little bit confused 🤷♂️ at the beginning), so: Do you also have a video how you did the intro and added the lower rock structure?
Thank you so much, please make more tutorials like tNice tutorials. You explain better than any other guide I've seen on youtube, very clear and
Haha this is awesome thanks for all you do!
You're welcome!
Fantastic tutorial, clear, concise, complete! Could this be done with video? I understand that two matching videos are required, one with the changing height map and one with the colour information. Let's say I wanted to show how erosion changed a landscape over time and let's say I have both the displacement data and the image data.
Sick !!!
I would use it for showing MTB routes
