Just got mine. Yes its very good. I returned the 40mm 2.5. that I've was super slow to acquire focus. This one is much faster. Very good. I highly recommend.
I don't understand why lens manufacturers don't put a rear gasket on all lenses, even ones that have no internal seals. It can't cost that much to put a bit of rubber on the mount.
Very interesting, I've loved my little muffin lenses (28 2.8, 40 2.0) on my Nikon Zf as an extension of my adapted f-mount lenses, but the 28 isn't /quite/ wide enough for big landscape things and the occasional video shot. One consideration for me is autofocus noise in video - what's that like on this? STMs can be a bit hit or miss and so if the video autofocus is gonna chatter really badly it kind of rules it out.
Great video. How do you think the Sony E 20mm pancake compares to this? Or the 24mm Samyang f.28? I'm looking for a wide angle lens that is lighter, wider and more discreet than my sigma 30mm 1.4 for street photography. I was torn between those two but now I really like the look of this Viltrox! I've got a sony a6000
The Sony is smaller but will only work on APS-C cameras. Obviously not a problem for your A6000 but if you upgrade to full frame in the future it might be annoying.
That's true, a slightly wider alternative. The reason I mentioned the Sigma 16-28mm is that's a lens I own and use all the time so could actually compare in the same focal range.

I guess there is some R&D cost to it beyond the cost of the rubber and probably an easy 'up sale' if they ever do a more expensive version.
@@JonathanPalfrey Not really because once you did it on one similar lens, you can put it on all of them.

Just picked one of these up for £145 off their uk website. Its a no brainer tbh..
That's a great deal!
Only YOU have been able to give its target customer base - video bloggers, occasional shooters and the like.
what would you suggest for talking head video similar like yours or jhony haris educational videos for Sony zv10 mark2 under 250 euro? for small room
Something like this would probably be a good consideration. You might find 2.8 is a bit slow and need a 1.8 lens though instead.

Will it last 5 years?
Should i get this if i have the 13mm?
I’d say so. 13mm is very different field of view than 20mm. On full frame 20mm is a more ‘normal’ wide compared to the ultra wide of a 13mm
Will it work for asc-p?
Yeah should work fine
Can you hear AF in video?
No it’s very quiet
you forgot samyang 18mm f2.8!and if you want to refer to competitors to prime lensd, you dont have to tell about zoom lenses!
