Saw A6700 ZV-E10 in your title. Was disappointed that you didn't actually try the lens on an aps-c. Just a quick mention at the end that you could use it on those.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Thanks for the reply. I didn't know that the image quality on a lens designed for full frame will be the same on an aps-c. I know it doesn't work the other way around. I learned something new. Edit: Now that I think about it, the image quality might actually be better on aps-c, because your getting more of the center of the lens on the smaller sensor. Edit 2: But, is it still going to be f2.8 value on aps-c? Because you're no longer using all the gathered light.
At the risk of sounding stoopid… How does this compare for the Sigma 16mm F 1.4? Low light perhaps not as good? Or are they completely different niches? Thanks.
Since the Sigma 16mm F 1.4 is an APS-C lens, it will perform better on an APS-C body than this lens and would give a full-frame equivalent field of view of 24mm. However, on a full-frame body, this lens would perform better than the Sigma 16mm F 1.4, unless you are planning to shoot primarily in crop mode, because some Sony full-frame cameras force you to be in crop mode while shooting in 60 fps 4K.
Thank you soooo much for this video!! I was on Amazon looking for a full frame wide lens for my a7c to vlog and came across this lens. I immediately came to RUclips to see some reviews and yours was first! And you answered my questions😁…

Man, I already have the Sony 20mm but would love something smaller/lighter! Wish it was 18mm but boy it's cheap enough! Great review, stay safe out there ;)
Could the low weight be because of plastic lenses? I wonder how such lenses hold up long time, regarding aspects like contrast and yellowing. I would love to hear about it at some point :)
Wow the pricing on this lens is absolute madness! This would be an amazing addition if you just carry around an all in one zoom like the Tamron 28-200mm (which I do when I'm backpacking). HI Mark. Will you answer this question. Does the lens matter much, now the the ZVE1 has background defocus? My main goal is to blur people in my background. Thank you in advance
yes, the ZV-E1 can only defocus the background using the lens. So the lower the fstop, the blurrier the background will be. It's not like a phone that does it with software, it is real background blur using the lens The ZV-E1 with it's defocus button only opens up the aperture to the max a lens will go

Absolute banger!
im new to photography, i have aps c censor, a6400. will this work just fine?
I will work yes. It will have the full frame view of 30mm. So not great for vlogging on the a6400.
I’d love to see this on the FX30
If I take pic of a person 4 ~5 feet away with this lens is there much distortion on the face ?
Love that graffiti alley. I'd absolutely love to POV walk that. Is it a local attraction?
Just an area in Toronto with a train. Not really a place I was supposed to be!!
解像度は問題ない。中心の歪曲が気になる。超広角だけに周辺の歪みも気になる。安価で小型軽量は魅力的です。素晴らしい動画をありがとう。
I see you're also testing the new Ulanzi wireless mic system... one set of walking and blogging and two times the reviews!
multi-tasking!!
Did this just kill the Sony 24G 2.8? 😂 Man, this is such a crazy value.
sony has a apsc pancake pens f2.8 which is just as good and with the zve1 in active IBIS it covers the full frame.
I haven’t checked that with the dynamic stab but from what your saying, that would be a good vlog option (more expensive, but still a good value)
zv 10 mk2 sony. i use for talking head video with green screen . which cheapest lens would be best
Sigma 16mm f1.4
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis what do you say about it if i don't want to spend more than 200usd Viltrox AF 20mm f2.8 FE . under this price what would u suggest mate?
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Viltrox AF 20mm f2.8 FE i was going to buy this. what do you suggest under 200 USD
Love your video🎉
Mark what happened to Sigma 16mm f1.4 ? Dethroned ? 😄
The sigma 16 is an APS-C lens - and is easily the best value for the APS-C system. Overall - hard to say if I woul say this 20 is a better value. both are such great bang for buck. But I would take the Sigma any day in the studio and in lowlight
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Did you try the Sigma 16mm f1.4 in zv-e1 , as it its not a full frame lens, Will the result be similar to Viltrox 20mm f2.8 ?
Is this lens compatible with Sony A6300…?
for sure. it will give you the equivalent of a 30mm full frame (because of the apsc crop)
really like your channels👍🏻~
I wonder if they are going to make a L- mount version
I know they are making a Z-Mount - but they haven't said anything about an L-Mount
it is good on sony ZVE10?
please compare the result, size and weight of this lens vs Tamron 20-40 f2.8
0:00 “Hi guys, anyone who’s watched this channel knows that I am extremely good looking”
That’s how will open all my videos from now on 🤣
Hmm... The size is tempting BUT I guess I'll stick to my Sony 20mm G 🙂
except for the size and focus breathing (which can be corrected) the 20 G is a better lens for sure!!
I love the lens
Thank you it work to crop boy
it will yes. but the field of view will be 30mm
This is great to visit San Francisco, if it gets stolen it was cheap anyway
ha - yes - an added benefit
what is the actual mm when it use to sony a6400 please
30mm full frame equivalent
I do not see the aperture setting ring on the lens, is it fixed on f2.8?
many lenses do not have an aperture ring. You control the aperture with the camera dial
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Thank you,
Hi, anyone compared this one with the Sony G 24mm f2.8?
