    I'm setting up my very first solar system very soon. I watched your videos and followed your lead on equipment and such. I was just wondering how to configure my monitor. You read my mind. Thanks bunches!!!

    Looks exactly like my power queen shunt. I believe the shunts are the same, just a different monitor screen.

      And AiLi shunt that Will Prowse loved years ago. Cheap and very functional. I have several. ( but victron bmv 712 is awsome..the price too...)

    Nice over view Bob. Based on the review of the device, looks like its a calculator on Ah vs. voltage. But for LiFePO4 being so flat on the curve, very difficult to manage SOC%. I have the smart shunts and two of the Redodo battery monitors. I reviewed it on Amazon and honestly its very similar except you need to set a charge to voltage. IF you set it too low, then the monitor will flip to 100%. However, on discharge it is very accurate on Ah and proven by calibrating the charge Ah to the charged to voltage reading at BMS cutoff. They cost more but for simplicity the one you reviewed is much easier to use I think. Gary from SE Michigan.

      Mahalo Gary! I am planning on trying the Victron smart shunt here pretty quick to compare with the QWORK shunt I have on all systems currently. I like what I have as it does give me a quick look at the systems. I expect the Victron to be better, but how much so..I don't know yet. It's all an experiment. All in all, I am doing quite well and learning more everyday. Even this time of year, which typically is very dark and rainy. Aloha!🤙

    them shunt/monitor is a must for LiFePo4 battery.is sold under a few different names. they great for RV mounting in round hole. I but small 1 amp fuse on small wire going to battery. must be at battery neg and all power threw the shunt and it will work correctly. just set battery AH . some have set battery type as well.

    I was using one up to a few years ago when one of the three buttons went bad. They are one of the better monitors. I ended up replacing it with the Victron Smart Shunt($$$).
    I'm surprized you don't have a Cerbo GX yet🤔on your main system. I haven't pulled the trigger yet either.

      I have a bunch of blue devices in my shopping cart as I type this! Smart shunt for sure, and I dance back and forth on the Cerbo. Like you just haven't pulled the trigger. Haha! Late night is when I am vulnerable to do it though! Aloha!🤙

    Hey Bob, I'm wondering if your battery monitor still has the factory layer of protective film covering the screen? If so, that could be the culprit in causing an issue with your camera auto focus function resulting in the flickering in the video playback. Just my 2 cents. More power to ya brother! 👍

    • @ProjectsinParadise808
      @ProjectsinParadise808  10 месяцев назад

      Hey David, me thinks you're right! The protective film is still on that monitor, and all my other ones too! I just never peeled it off, or thought of it again. I am going to remove it and hopefully I won't show those blurry shots anymore! Haha! Mahalo brother!🤙

    Hi from France..good review and set up, question,on lipo4 do you have to set the voltage on the monitor to 12.7 as stated on my battery,or just 12 when setting it up? cheers

    I use the same one for my fishing kayak and lithium battery. Been working good but recently the percentage hasn't been going down. Ever had that issue?

    Do you have to reset the parameters on the qwork every time you disconnect the battery or turn off the breakers.

    • @ProjectsinParadise808
      @ProjectsinParadise808  8 месяцев назад +1

      No, it will remember it's last setting on a disconnect. Only need to reset if you change the size of battery connected to it. Aloha!🤙
