Great job on the video! you covered exactly the points that i was looking for that wasn't clearly explained in the instructions. I do have a question i was hoping you could answer. I have read that it monitors discharge (as shown in video) and they at also monitors charging. In the case of monitoring chargin, does a negative lead from the charging source need to be connected to P- so that it can monitor energy passing through the shunt? or will it recognize charge input if the just going directly to the leisure battery? (i.e. if i had power input from a battery maintainer or solar i would connect the red clamps to the (+) post on the leisure battery, and the black clamps to the (P-) post on the shunt to complete the circuit and it monitor power input) it makes sense in my head, just curious how yours is done if your battery is recharged by the engine and/or solar.
Hi - thanks for the comment. I do have DC/DC charger from alternator but I have to be honest I have not ever checked the charging side! So sorry not sure I have an answer on this one 😓 Hope you can get it sorted ✅
What gauge wire did you use to connect the shunt to the battery? The terminals that hold those wires look so tiny and the screws to tighten them require a microscrewdriver.
Yeah - it does what it says on the tin and cost effective solution vs other similar products. Being honest though as we don’t generally go off grid I don’t think our leisure battery ever been below 98%.. 😄 Also if you do have a 12v control panel with a readout you can kind of tell what the battery charge level is too… But on the whole good little product, easy to install and use 👍
Hey Paul - thank for checking out the video and your comment to get in the draw for the GPS! Glad the videos are useful and good luck with your conversion too 👍
Hi Sean - you are in the draw for the free GPS 😀 Could you please email over contact details with address then if you win I can send it out to you 👍 I’ll be doing the draw later on so I’ll let you know if you win - transitcustomconversion@gmail.com
Great thanks Terry. You are in the draw for the free GPS! If you could email me on transitcustomconverion@gmail.com - then I can contact you if you win 👍
What size fuse should I use in the power wire to the shunt? I like to fuse anything that draws power, but the instructions from AiLi don't show a fuse, let alone indicate what size it should be.
Hey 👋 Thanks for the comment and checking out the video! That is a really good point and to be honest not something I have done with my install either… Maybe give the manufacturer a shout? Or put a question on the product listing on Amazon? Sorry couldn’t help direct with the W
Hey - thanks for checking out the video. I am not sure to be honest it was supplied with the kit itself. Just looking on the website and does mention the current range on min is 350a. I think also models with 100a also available
hi there , im currently building my transit camper its 80% complete some ideas ive got from your channel ! , and should be finished in the coming weeks let me know how to send pics to you cheers glen
Hey Glen! That’s great news! Amazing to hear that the videos have been useful 👍 Be great to feature the van on watchers vans when you ready with that final 20%! Email them over to transitcustomconversion@gmail.com 👍 look forward to seeing the pics 😃
Thanks for the great video. I have two of these and I can’t get either of them to light up. I put the shunt between my battery negative and my negative Busbar. I know the shunt connection is fine because the circuit is working fine for my lights and other loads so it must be the wiring to power the shunt but I’ve redone the connections several times but still not getting any power to monitor display. It’s odd it’s happening with both monitors so I’m thinking I’m doing something wrong but can’t think what. Any ideas???
That is a strange one? Are they getting power at all? I.e you can see the LCD but not the backlight? What I usually do but didn’t show on this video was a bench test with a test 12v battery to make sure all good? Might be worth doing to make sure no issues with the units?
@@TransitCustomCamper I was thinking both couldn’t be broken so I shortened the power wire and gave it a new connector and it’s working now!!! Thanks so much!!!
Hey there! Thanks for the comment and glad to hear you almost there with your conversion? Is it a Transit Custom? Also to confirm you in the prize draw too for the GPS 👍

You take a risk sometimes.
How does it differentiate between FLA and Lithium Batseries. Is there a setup function for peukert factor?
I am not sure sorry 😢

Has anyone figured how to disable the light (apart from covering it)? Its blinding at night!!
Apparently you press and hold the 2 outer buttons and hold for 3 seconds.
Watch other installation vids they tell you
Hey 👋 Yes - Steve comment is right press and hold the two outer buttons turns off the backlight 👍
