    Great video! I recently installed the AiLi battery monitor but I notice that after I set the gauge to 100% when the batteries were fully charged and used the batteries during the evening and the following day as the batteries recharged the gauge did not return to 100%. Does the gauge have to be reset everyday once the batteries top off?

    Why does the screen illumination look like it's dimming and brightening?

    • @craster_van_kippers

      The display does this whilst charging. It becomes steady when you’re drawing more out than charging Is putting in. If this irritates you, the backlight can be extinguished.

    Hi, nice vlog. But one thing doesnt seem safe to me. That is the tin wire from the battery+ to the shunt of battery-. If the circuit board on the shunt makes ashort circuit you have the entire power of your battery on the small wire. Isnt it better to put a fuse in between? Greating Sjoerd

    • @bruceskousen5451
      @bruceskousen5451 3 года назад

      The wire is such a small gauge that it would burn in half before starting a fire. You could put a small 2 amp fuse on it for piece of mind.

      @@bruceskousen5451 Hi, that is treu, but it is not indicated in the instruction . And mistakes can be made. Victron has a small fuse on the wire for secure. (I am not a shareholder of Victron). I have a Mastervolt battery monitor on the boat , and a12volt 460amp battery for service.

    Really useful little monitor with quite a simple install. Just looking around your build again, it's really well done. Lots of questions but in time. One thing I did notice was the drivers seat swivel. It's one of my next purchases, do you have a single passenger seat or a double, and is it swivel also. Jamie

      Hi Jamie,
      Sorry been offline.
      Yes both seats are single and swivel. I see a lot of people moaning about the slight increase in height and they spend extra £150 for lowered base. Two things. It costs nowt to fit to existing base and try it. If it’s a problem then maybe get a different base. Second: if I had lower base I wouldn’t get my two leisure batteries under the seat. My passenger seat is in fact a drivers which I’ve easily modified but not used the pretentioner. While I’m over in Europe I’m planning to visit a breakers yard and buy a drivers seat which should fit perfectly with all original seat belt fittings.

    • @campervancreations7656
      @campervancreations7656 4 года назад

      If you find a seat, I'd gladly buy the existing seat!!

      Also you might look into a pair if ford galaxy seats they have built in swivels and look quite good. I don’t know the ins and outs but could be not much more than swivel cost plus supposed to be more comfortable. I’d be tempted by pair if grey leather.

    hi craster van i just fitted the monitor to my van it shows charging on hook up from the sargent but it does not show charging from the stirling b2b . the stirling b2b is showing 14.7 v going to the battery, has the battery got to drop before the b2b shows a charge cheers hope you can advise cheers john

      sorry for some reason I’ve just seen your comment. I hope you’ve managed to sort it in the mean time. all I can offer is that I too have a Sargent and a sterling b2b. they are installed as per instructions and seem to work fine. when my b2b is charging it does shows in the display as amps coming in. I’ve never looked at volts but would assume that you’d be best check on bulkcharge phase to see if you get result you’re looking for.

    Hi mate I’ve got the exact same monitor I’ve not fitted it yet though.... am I right in saying all loads come of the shunt and anything powering the battery goes would just be wired to the battery..... also for example could I run my negatives to a bus bar then to the shunt... hope this makes sense... great video

    • @bruceskousen5451
      @bruceskousen5451 3 года назад

      Yes, you could run all neg wires to a bus bar and then the bus bar must be connected to the shunt.

    Quick question, when wiring this up to a system that has two batteries, does it matter which negative battery terminal the shunt is connected to ?

    PLEASE HELP!!!!! I have a problem with mine... I have the 350 amp version. Have it hooked to 2 - 6 volt 235ah VMax batteries, so 12 volt 235ah. Works fine until I turn on my 2000 watt inverter & use my microwave. It pulls just over 100 amps. Only use it for less than a minute, 2 max. After I'm done & shut off the inverter, my gauge reads 0ah & 0% capacity. I have the gauge set to 235ah. I think it is a faulty gauge. Does it every single time.....any ideas? Thx

      I figured it out on my own after playing with it. there is a setting I adjusted, the voltage battery capacity, leave it at 0 volts & it won't reset the ah and percentage.

      What side is your charger negative to? Is it going straight to the battery? If yes, it shouldn't be.
