  • This Marrakech Guide (Morocco 2019), part 2 of my series, is a comprehensive Marrakech travel guide. I will provide you with essential Marrakech tips to help you avoid common mistakes and I will share my experiences around weather, currency, prices for a flight to Marrakech, transportation, the "must see" tourist attractions, food as well as the required travel budget.
    Marrakesh is a city full of hidden oases, beautiful architecture and great rooftop restaurants. However, it is easy to get lost in the colourful maze of souks and small alleys and face locals who demand money in exchange for (sometimes wrong) directions... and do not rely on Google Maps as I explain in this video.
    Most of the shown Marrakech attractions are in the old city located around the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa square - Dar El Bacha, Le Jardin Secret and Bahia Palace.

    Our Story:
    My name is Jan and I travel with my girlfriend Carla. I believe traveling and exploring new places is the key to a happy life. I also believe most of us are suffering from travel deficiency as we want to travel more than we actually do due to a lack of information and our busy everyday lives. It is time to stop dreaming and take back control!
    I created this channel to build an open travel community which enables people to spend less time researching and more time traveling by having access to the right information more quickly.
    In 2019, I challenged myself to prove that it is possible to travel frequently (12 destinations in 12 months) despite having a busy life - no more excuses!
    Join me on my journey and let’s cure travel deficiency together - one trip at a time.

      August is the hottest month in Morocco so I would suggest you visit the coasts where are the nice beaches and much cooler or you can visit the mountains , Marrakesh is to avoid at that time . still every place is so close if you decide to settle in Marrakesh other cities are not that far . hope you enjoy your stay

    Hello there, I will be going to Morocco from London, may I ask did you exchange Dirham with Pound sterling or with Euro? Also, did you buy the sim card in advance in London or in the Marrakech airport? Nice video and Thx!

    • @curetraveldeficiency2398
      @curetraveldeficiency2398  5 лет назад +3

      Hi, glad you enjoyed the video! I used the ATMs in the old town of Marrakech to get Dirham. I would recommend to decline the proposed exchange rate in the process and let your own bank determine the exchange rate. This should usually be cheaper than using the proposed exchange rate offered by the local bank in the ATM. I took some euros with me, but it’s usually better to pay in Dirham if possible.
      We bought the SIM cards at the airport in Marrakech. You will see the stalls selling them in the area just after the passport checks. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions and enjoy your trip!

      Hi - thanks for watching and the nice words! We found that hotels/Riads accepted Euros and the “nicer sit-down” restaurants did as well. I hope this helps.

    How to find your way back to your Riad if lost in Marracech

    • @curetraveldeficiency2398
      @curetraveldeficiency2398  4 года назад

      Hi Jina, we just kept walking in the “right” direction until Google Maps would pick up our rough location again. When using Goggle Maps, we guided ourselves more by direction rather than trying to find the right street. I think getting lost can be part of the fun. Just like in every other city, be aware of your environment and if you are new to an area, perhaps explore it during the day first rather than at night since it is easier to follow the flow of the other tourists who are likely to search for the same spots. I hope this helps.
