Good job, Beth. I drive a black truck, so I had some leftover touch up paint. A little brush is easier than spraying. But mine weren't as rusty as yours.
Hi Beth.. Great Videos.. As far as getting rid of rust on mechanical parts i find "PB Blaster" works amazing..Just spray on the rust (or on a rag for better control of the spray) and the rust just wipes off. And it helps keeps the rust off as well.
Looks great, didn't realize the humidity was so tough in Florida. I thought it was bad here in Memphis. I've got over 3k miles on my Ryker and no rust. Love the content
Great job! It wasn't bothering me as much because I thought there was no solution. Now that I have seen what you have done I will be in the store buying paint in a matter of moments! Lol....also love that you show us your trial and error phases. It's easy to sit home and say why didn't she do x,y, and z then you do x,y, and z show us it doesn't work so we don't waste time! 🤣😊
I’m not so sure spraying WD on it is such a great idea. The spray in it’s nature tends to cover more than the intended target so you may get the lubricant on the disk and or the pads reducing their effectiveness. You could spray a cloth and then rub it carefully on the rusty spots. Another trick is to brush Coke Cola on to the rusty spots several times, the phosphoric acid removes and neutralizes rust.
Great idea! Luckily the spray did not negatively effect anything. But I really like your ideas, especially the coke! Thanks so much for the comment and for watching!!!
I said the same thing and now mines rusty garage kept Florida weather in the ride never sprayed with a hose all ways spray detailer and back to black . And it still rusted up . And no I never put back to black an the wheel wells just listed things I do to keep up on my bike and still it rusted
Good video, but as others have commented it could be a little risky spraying the WD40 so close to the discs and pads, I’d also be carefull using sandpaper so close to the orange wheel bearing seals, just a little bit of grit from the paper getting past the seal could seriously damage the bearing, maybe it might be an idea to spray the WD40 directly onto a scotch Brite dish cleaner or steel wool and carefully work at the rust with that, then clean with white spirits etc and apply something like Lanox lanoline spray directly sprayed onto a rag and applied occasionally to stop the rust from returning or painting them. Love your videos
Hi! Great question William! Although my result were awesome and still do not have any rust, there are a couple of things I wold have done differently. 1. I would not have sprayed anything directly on, I would have spray a cloth and then applied it to the rust. Luckily how I did it originally, did not affect my brakes. 2. I would have hand painted the area instead of spray painting them. Just would have been easier. But overall, I love how they came out.
I told our son to buy a small can of black paint and a small brush to paint these areas before they get rusty. I think a little prevention will be better than waiting until they rust. We'll see how well the paint works.
So I got my ryker 900 today so do you recommend go ahead and spray paint the black spray immediately only ... by the way I did subscribe and like your video great Channel
Hmmm great question! I would either buy the caps that go over them, or yes spray before it gets bad. But, looking back, I won't spray. I'd use the rustoleum that comes in a little touch up bottle with a tiny pain brush and do it that way. You'll have more control and less prep work.
I have rust on both sides inside and outside, i dont have the caps yet. But i just dont want to buyd to cap to cover up rust now, i want to fix the rust first. Any suggestions
Hi Ryker Rydes; On that Rust on the wheels, Have you ever heard or readed about the Lamoster Ryker nut cover? and if you do and buy, could you make a video on it, I do enjoy your videos because you make them so simple and easy to follow for average people like us lol. Keep up your good work and even though I dont owe one yet I will one this year and I will use your videos for my Mods. Thank you.. ana God bless.
Hi Carlos, thank you so much for the wonderful comments and your question. As far as the wheel nuts, I just watched their video on Leominster garage. And I will try to give you the link to that as well. They actually look really cool and I might get them. If I do get them I will certainly do a video. Another place for me is the little hole under the handlebar adjustment. I never looked inside if there is a screw or nothing. Need to do a general rust hide and seek game! :)
I was just looking at that very thing yesterday. Rustoleum is a good product. I think that might just be the solution I’m looking for. Thank You Beth. Namaste 🙏🏻

I'm shocked they didn't powder coat it at the factory during production and then after all the complaints started to surface.
Agreed

Thanks!!! Did the dealer paint it, so the rust won’t come back!
Great Video Beth. If you don't mind me asking, where did you get your side CAN-AM flip flop decal from?
Hi!!! Which decals , the blue/pink ones or silver?
@@RykerRydes blue/pink
They were from Allison Hood. She posted it on one of the Ryker FB pages. $8. Maybe you can do a search for her name? Sorry that’s all the info I have.
You need an abrasive scrub use a small wire brush to better control. pb blaster works
Great tips!

it now sells a custom-made plastic cap to place there on the ryker 😃
You are right! I need to order some!
Do you get rust on top of the exhaust? the ones at the dealer even had rust there
I do not have any rust on my exhaust but I have heard of that happening. My bike is garage parked year round, I think that helps!

Yup! At least if you call it hide and seek, it makes it fun!
When the ryker is new, seal everything that can rust with dark underfloor wax - welds on the frame and the hubs.
Good tip!
My wife's has nice cover on it I'm trying to get the cover for mine

Even easier: buy touch up paint with a little brush!
Ryker Rydes I’m gonna have a look at it this week. 😁
Looks good , probably easier to use small paint brush , no need to mask up .
Great idea!
Brass steel wool then silicone spray.
Great tip!
WD-40 will dry out the rubber bushings and cause problems later.
Great point. Thank you for mentioning that.
You should get to the meat and potatoes of these videos. You killing me
I understand what you are saying. I do like to chat and explain (sometimes too much). Feel free to FWD through it.
Are you getting rust anywhere else? I've read where folks are experiencing rust around the handlebars.
No rust any place else! I never heard of that. Hmm.
Make sure you don't get any on the brake rotor
Absolutely!
not sure this good thing to do ....
wd40 leaks in wheel bearings...
congrats nice videos !
Cola works well too. Luckily I have not had any problems. Thanks so much for watching!
I hate that rust. I looked at new rykers and they had rust at the dealer...
Yup, It's annoying! But the fun of riding it, makes up for it!!
I agree with calm54 : Real Coca Cola works magic on rust and its prevention but not similar types of Cola say Pepsi which seems strange! Cheers Beth.
Crazy! Makes you never want to drink Coke again!! EW!!! Cheers Atholl!

Thank you Frank Tracy, I appreciate you watching AND subscribing.
Next time use a peace of cardboard and a small paint brush spray the paint brush on the cardboard
Great idea!!
If you get wd40 on the brakes, it is dangerous. Try the brakes before you get out on the roads.
That’s a great point! I sprayed the wd 40 on a paper towel, them cleaned up.
