I think the female air bender could well be Yang-Chen. If I remember correctly, she only appears for a few seconds in a flash back in the first season. And then in season 3, where we see her talk to Aang for like 10 seconds. I don't think it'd be important who they cast for that role.
i think theres a possibility we get to see multiple female airbenders, especially during the g3n0c!de... That young lady could be yang chen, but i do think who they cast in that role will be absolutely important for a proper depiction of Yang Chen. Who knows, we're getting even more backstory on the airbenders than we have previously. Who's to say we don't get more worldbuilding lore along with the plot and added historical context regarding Sozin's Comet and how that influenced the historical events that took place.

I was 8 years old when Avatar first dropped. I remember so many conversations during class, assuming elements for everyone and this magical excitement of tuning in a new episode after returning from school. Watching the gang going on this unbelievable adventure laughing at the jokes, crying at sad moments and going to bed completely satisfied from the experience. If this adaptation gives me half of that experience. In my mind that's a win. 🎉

I see no reason why she couldn't be Yang-Chen given that they've stated numerous times this version isn't going to be following the cartoon series beat for beat. I likely see this version of her in a flashback shortly after Aang learns he is the Avatar and Gyatsu tries to comfort him by saying she wasn't much older when she learned what she was in something of an expository means of getting non-ATLA fans on board with who and what the Avatar is early on.

However, another youtuber (I believe it was Antoine Bandele, I could be wrong) brought up an interview with the actress saying she brought 2 of her acting students with her, and they all played airbenders. We know Azula, Mai, and Ty Lee are coming early, so maybe this scene was moved up too, or it's for the genocide scene teased by the trailer.

I just meant that the specific scene he showed was in fact from season 2, meaning he was right when he said we hadn't seen female air benders in the first season. But I wouldn't be surprised to see the Netflix show expand on the air nomads, and show us more females as well.

I'm really excited for this because even though they are changes, they seem to be additions and not actual changes of the story and they seem to be faithful to the characters so far.
I hope they show and go dark on the Monk Gyatso vs firebender scene. It would be a definite airbender thing to do if he sacrificed himself to save others at the temple sucking out of the air out of the room killing himself and all of the firebenders.
you're reaching.....the trailer (in no way) indicates the the opening scene is a 'festival.' Further, based on the lack of light and outdoor amenities, this looks more like the temple was attacked on a regular night and people just happened to be outside (as one would expect).

Actually, there’s nothing wrong with “skipping” meals. It’s called “intermittent fasting” or “OMAD”(one meal a day). There are plenty of videos here on RUclips that explains the science behind the practice. And it’s not just a way of losing weight because you would just adjust your caloric intake to that one meal. Add to that a reduction of carbs(mainly those found in foods that are processed or have added sugar) and you’ll find the health benefits quite rewarding.

I think the biggest amount of eyes will be during the Super Bowl on Feb. 11. I'd look for a Super Bowl ad. With the ad being 11 days away it would draw a lot of attention and with a small countdown the hype would be sustainable until it's release.

They isolated themselves in their temples, so much that people from other nations found them ignorant for what’s happening in the world. The „Nomads” part was never an issue for potential flashbacks since most of them were living in their temples and didn’t leave, exceptions were Yangchen festival and traveling from one temple to another. Besides that they lived in isolation. The ones that survived were lured by Fire Nation into hideouts that were supposed to be created by Air Nomads as safe places. I hope they won’t make temples mixed gender.

Yeah, I fully agree with you that the trailer should come out within the next few days. And honestly, I wasn't excited about this at all until I watched the One Piece live action and saw how well they pulled that off... That said, obviously Oda was executive producer on that, whereas the creators of Avatar bounced pretty early on. One of my biggest trepidations is that they're going to make it too serious and lose the feel of the original. I think I've seen a total of one picture of the kid playing Aang smiling; he looks angry/serious in pretty much every promo picture, and the same could be said for the rest of the main cast.
what i believe is that in the cartoon series when Aang was frozen in a ball of ice, this comet festival may have taken place. but unlike what you're saying here this festival took separately in different air temples. meaning all the air-nomads did not come to one temple but they celebrated this even in their respective air temples. that was the main reason why Aang survived the Fire Nation's attack in the first place.
I heard someone suggest Michelle Yeoh to play Yangchen and now I Can't picture anyone else. And before you say that Yeoh is too old, why can't they age up her Avatar form? Roku always looks 70.

That said, obviously Oda was executive producer on that, whereas the creators of Avatar bounced pretty early on. One of my biggest trepidations is that they're going to make it too serious and lose the feel of the original. I think I've seen a total of one picture of the kid playing Aang smiling; he looks angry/serious in pretty much every promo picture, and the same could be said for the rest of the main cast.
I hope they make the air bending look like steam

what i believe is that in the cartoon series when Aang was frozen in a ball of ice, this comet festival may have taken place. but unlike what you're saying here this festival took separately in different air temples. meaning all the air-nomads did not come to one temple but they celebrated this even in their respective air temples. that was the main reason why Aang survived the Fire Nation's attack in the first place.
I heard someone suggest Michelle Yeoh to play Yangchen and now I Can't picture anyone else. And before you say that Yeoh is too old, why can't they age up her Avatar form? Roku always looks 70.
