- Cats are just as susceptible to everyday minor injuries as any other animal. Many cuts (lacerations), bruises (contusions), and scrapes (abrasions) are not life threatening and will heal with little treatment. Other wounds can be severe enough to require sutures and more intense emergency care. Wounds can come from bumping or hitting hard or sharp objects, avoiding cars, attacks from animals, and other dangers. What you can do at home is ultimately up to your cat. Sometimes the only thing you can do is wrap your cat in a towel or put him in a carrier and take him straight to your veterinarian. There are, however, a few things you can do if your cat will let you, especially if it may be a while before you can get to your veterinarian. There are cat wound care products that can help you care for your cat.
My cat got in a cat fight or something and has been avoiding home for a while. I finally got my cat back and she had a big scape on her back, and my family doesn't have the finances to be able to go to the vet. I'm going to take a shower and then put a bandage on her or something. It looks infected, I'm so scared for her! Let's see how this goes...

I have a stray that we have been feeding for a couple of years. He will hang out for a minute come back every morning and every afternoon. From time to time he would come with a couple of wounds that would heel. But 3 weeks ago he got a nasty wound I’m assuming from a fight, I tried to spray an antiseptic for animals but he ran and did return a couple of days. Finally he came back now skin hanging in two areas it’s smelly and he won’t let us get near home. I just keep feeding home and hope he will be alright. Sighhh
Put turmeric powder on wound .
Should have called animal cops or something. Hope he is ok now. Let us know.

I'm treating my cat since Saturday she had a bit lump on her jaw line I washed it with cooled boiled water and sea salt that was Saturday Sunday I repeated the and a lot of smelling puss came out the lump is gone and I got beaphar wound ointment and wound tape cleaned it again with the cooled sea salted water and put the cream on had gauze material put cream on that also wrapped it around her neck today is Monday repeated it all again and the wound looks like its healing. She is in better form since last night fingers crossed she is on the mend.
My cat has a cut on her tail and it looks kinda deep! My dad isn’t home and I don’t know what to do I’m crying what do I do
So i bought a collar for my cat and a few days after I put it on him I decided to take it off and I noticed a little scrape on him under his neck and it wasn't there before so I got a damp wash clothe and held it on the scrape for about 5 mins. I do not know if that's the correct thing to do but he kept giving me kitty hugs after as if he was thanking me. So if anyone knows if that's what your meant to do please reply to this.
The cat that claimed us is wild and would never go along with any of this. He just lost 1/4 of the skin over his left eye most likely from a coyote attack.
My cat has a deep hole near his tail. We took him on the vet. They said we have pay $2,500 to have surgery or they will put him down.

My cat is being bullied by a stray cat for months and ive been finding a way to get rid of the stray cat. My cat has a wound and he's traumatized I really feel bad I don't have money to take him to the vet and we can't let him stay inside our house but we have a hut and let him stay there but he wanders so the stray cat still finds him. Kill the stray! Just joking! We have the same problem. Our kids cat... we're so protective of her. Just quietly.. shes our favourite 🤣🤣 My husbands been looking for his slingshot & we're gonna get water guns to shoot at the stray. Cat got out... got in a scrap...ended up with an infected wound & that vet bill cost an arm and a leg! I shoulda been vet!!

My cat goes insane to tear the e-collar off. He will growl and roll around kicking it continuously until he gets it off. I think he would break his own neck trying to remove it. The wound in his ear went from sesame seed size and is now the size of a penny. It will likely consume his ear because he wont stop scratching it. A month from now it's likely his ear will just be torn away a scratch at a time. No medicine or oil or Aloe I put on the wound helps. Sad... he was a beautiful cat. Now a big piece of his ear is gone.

I came back home after school and the cats laying down I come to pet her and see a huge cut on her leg my grandma told me the cat injured herself by going in the window (sometimes my grandma lets her out and the cat comes back in thru the window) and I hope my cat is ok it’s not bleeding or anything my cat is also pregnant so I hope this doesn’t hurt her babies
My 3 month old kitten got bit by a dog..we went to the vet as soon as possible..gave him some shots...he is doing fine n he is active and willing to eat..but the problem is a bite on his neck(not too deep..luckily) from there some saliva with a lil bit of food(liquid) is coming out...the vet said that give him some time to recover...but don't know how long it will take as 3 days has already passed.

There is a stray cat that my family started feeding and not she sticks around. A few days ago I noticed a spot in her chest were here fur is missing. The skin is slightly green and it smells bad. My family can'ts take her to the vet because we don't have the money. I used peroxide bc that's what my brother said to do and now i see that was not a good choice. Does anyone have any help for me?

Ik it’s too late but disinfect the wound cuz maybe ur cat got infected and cover it with cloth to prevent the cat from scratching it

After your vet has done everything possible to raise the bill. They will give you a cat antiseptic meds. lol jk. it would all depend on the wound.

I dont know, im crying because there is a stray cat with a huge open wound on its neck, its meowing in pain and the vet clinics aren’t open.
shrimp I know that you posted this a month ago, but if that ever happens to you again here are some tips. First you should get the stray into a controlled environment such as a bathroom or laundry room if it is skittish or scared. It’s okay if you can’t do this though. I would cover its face with a towel and hold the cat still, if the wound is bleeding a lot get something like paper towels to use to put pressure on it, then you should try to clean the fur around it and the wound itself, hydrogen peroxide and cotton balls are ideal, if you don’t have any then just use water. Idk if this helps but it would make me feel better to know what to do in this situation.
My cat went out and may be since padt 2 days if had a fight. Plus since last 7-10days itsbunder mange (scabies) treatment how do i confirm its the scars due to fight and not out of control Mange
