I just found you after a "hardest foods you had to give up when you turned vegetarian" conversation with friends led to some *serious* craving for my old fave..yes...orange chicken from Panda Express. This craving, in turn, led me to google something along the lines of: _is there a vegetarian version of orange chicken?_ And, voila! There was your recipe. So... Recipe tried. Craving thoroughly satisfied. Website saved in favs folder. Subbed. Thank you!
I tried this gf. It was fantastic. I used Pamela's baking mix. It is a 1:1 ratio so a super easy substitute. Dredging in a batter seems to work better for gf than trying to dunk in flour then liquid and back. Plus, cauliflower has all the little crannies that make it easier for things to stick. I loved the flavors in this! It really satisfied the Chinese food craving that I've been battling! Thank you for the video!
Ohhhh, I can’t wait to try this! I’ve made orange tofu, but it takes so much work to prep the tofu, and then it’s deep fried. I’m loving the idea of a much healthier version using baked cauliflower! Thanks for sharing!!
Another fantastic combo. I have to think about getting a wok now. I also try to be as oil free as possible and when I owned wok's before they were always "seasoned" with oil and so forth. I still use a stainless sauce pot with a lid for almost everything... and that's 2+ years as a vegan. lol
You can use whatever wok you are comfortable with. I use carbon steel that is seasoned. Cast iron would be heavy, and i dont think ive seen cast iron woks, but as long as they are seasoned would work well
Made this today. Came out very good but too much vinegar in my opinion. Next time I make it, I will use only half the vinegar and increase the orange juice and zest. Should be the bomb next time.
It seems you have your diet reasonably clean, if cooking foods, oil free high carb is best. If i could suggest the logical extension, it would be paying attention to GMO's, pesticides, chemical/metal leaching cookware, and the incorporation of at least 50% or more of your diet being raw fruits and greens.
This recipe looks amazing! And yes, gluten free flour would work in this recipe. So would chickpea flour, which is also gluten free, and once cooked, tastes really good!!

Your picture quality is great!!! Thank you so much for sharing!!! Orange chicken was my go-to too.
Definitely trying this one.
Instead of brown sugar, I used Sukrin Gold. Now, Swerve makes a brown sugar substitute as well.
Thank you for this! I'm new at this way of eating and your recipes are so helpful and tasty. I will definitely try this one soon!

Looks good, you should try coconut sugar instead. 👍
Are you using a non stick wok? Wondering if non stick is required for no oil cooking?
My wok is seasoned
@@brandnewvegan So the answer is no, it is NOT nonstick, but a ??? stainless that's seasoned like you do cast iron? Or maybe it is cast?
