At first I tasted the sauce right away and wasn’t so sure. But I gave it a couple of minutes to sit and poured it over the pasta; I didn’t want to stop eating it! I sprinkled roasted, slightly charred onions over it and think that really works, too.when I got to the vegpieces, the cheese sauce over them was perfect. Can’t wait to make broccoli with cheese sauce, something I haven’t had in over a decade.
I’ve tried other recipes for cheez sauce it was either bla or not good yours is A WINNER!!! I found you because of Krocks in the kitchen recommendation I’m impressed! I used grey poupon mustard
I am absolutely amazed! I have gone through the CHIP program and have been plant- based for 18 months and I have tried several recipes for cheese sauce and nothing compares to this. It is the same consistency and texture and color of cheese sauce!! To top it off it tastes great.! Thank you so much! Genius!!
I've stuck to the cashew version of Hot for food so far but I'm going to try your nut-free one. Thanks for sharing. It's always relaxing to watch your videos.
Imagine a world where this was our go to Mac n' Cheese--our rates of cancer, heart disease, arthritis, diabetes and osteoporosis would plummet and all the momma cows and their calves would be frolicking together in sanctuaries. Looks beyond delicious--Thanks so much for sharing!
Great recipe! Best cheese recipe we’ve had since going plant based in 2017. Nice alternative to the cashew based cheese recipes we’ve been using. Thank you for creating and sharing it! We sent you a little money today via PayPal as a small token of our appreciation for all you are doing to help others regain and maintain their health. Keep up the good work, Chuck!
Well, I'm new at this plant based lifestyle. I've really missed my mac and cheese. I fully understand that a plant based cheese sauce isn't going to taste the same, but I can live with that. I've noticed that my taste buds are adapting to my new eating patterns. Thanks for sharing your recipes, etc. I've subscribed to your channel and look forward to browsing your recipes. Thanks again. PS: Denney at Denney's Plant Based Journey recommended your cheese sauce. Just thought you would like to know.
Nuclear yellow looks yummy! I was so glad to hear it can be frozen!! That is huge! Make a double batch and can always have 'cheze' on hand! Thanks Chuck
I like your recipe.. I made a few changes... I cooked in veggie stock instead of water. I used 2 tsp dry mustard instead of the prepared mustard. I added 1 tsp Bragg's Liquid Aminos. It was great!! I decided I wanted Nacho cheese. I then added 1 tsp Mrs Dash ' southwest chipotle", 1/2 tsp cumin, 1/2 tsp smoked paprika.. Was really good.. I omitted the salt just on health preference. I will say it lacks just a little bit without it. It is still very very tasty! Thank you for the inspiration!!
Love it! Your original cheese sauce is the best, hands down, that we’ve ever had. I always triple the recipe because we go through so much of it at our house, we put it on everything! It’s incredible. I’ll have to try the Instant Pot method next time. I really appreciate your videos, always down to earth and natural. Thank you for being yourself and sharing such wonderful recipes with us! 👍🏼
my tastebuds has changed and i really dont like the processed foods anymore. i dont even like falafel or garlic! its so strange. i found the sauce to be very sour, but i will give it another try. i figured i didnt use enough carrot too, but i will also start with only vegetables and then try with spices and maybe add yeast and mustard. maybe i prefer vegetables only these days? not easy to find someone with the same tastebuds!! thank you anyways, both your food and voice are very comforting. you have alot of inspiration and i love that you are whole food and dont use oil!
Thank you God!!! This is so good. Now I have my on cheese thatcIbcan make at home!! This is amazing how those two ingredients cone out so creamy!!! Thank you so much!!!
This was delicious! Next time I will leave out the mustard though. It was too prominent (for ME). I love mustard but I was expecting it to be hidden in the background. Anyway, thanks for posting this...even my WFPB-hating wife enjoyed it as a side dish. Best part was it even reheated well ~ with a splash of water ~ the next day. This is going into regular rotation for me!
Thanks for another vegan recipe. I tried another version a while back, but it just wasn't very good. I'll try again as the boxed stuff is horrible! Vegan over 6 years and loving every bite!
Martin the great potato mage recommended your vegan cheese sauce. Not only am I going to try it., but you got a brand new subscriber to your brand new vegan channel. 😎👍
Great Video Chuck and I can’t wait to try this... Question, I was always taught to rinse your Pasta in Cold water after boiling to Stop the Pasta from cooking. Since you add Veggies to the Pasta do you still Rinse ?
This looks way easier than the boiling method I have used with very similar ingredients. I use dry mustard. I am excited to try this. Nuclear yellow. 😂
I don't happen to like that version, I have a recipe for mac and cheese with rice pasta with tomato it isn't real mac and cheese slices on top I bring it to parties, and people don't know it isn't real mac and cheese, I have an 8 qt bowl it is gone in no time. I don't eat potatoes.

Ha, I've been doing the boil veg with pasta thing for decades. I thought I was a horrible lazy cook but really it's just more efficient!
Loved that you added the frozen vegetables in the water for the last five minutes of cooking the pasta. That is a time saver. Great hack!

Delicious!
Add a couple of pickled jalapeños and you got nacho cheeze
This is perfection!

I made this sauce today and added some salsa to make salsa con queso. Poured that on my bean and rice burrito, and whoa boy!

Great video and recipe! Thank you for sharing.
Great channel. I love how real your recipes and videos feel. Something that I feel is sometimes missing on youtube. This looks absolutely delicious.
Just made some of this with only russets and ended up using the whole cup of potato juice but the wife said it came out perfect!
Thanks for another vegan recipe. I tried another version a while back, but it just wasn't very good. I'll try again as the boxed stuff is horrible! Vegan over 6 years and loving every bite!

This recipe is amazing -- and I added 4 drops of an unsweetened probiotic sriracha, and enjoyed that, too.
This looks fantastic!
awesome tasting!!!
Mmmmmmmmmmmm. Looks so smooth and creamy. Dang, I need a high speed blender. I’m gonna be making a lot of cheese sauce......

Looks deeeeeelish! Trying that 4 sure!!
Re: nootch: why flakes not powder
Marian McAfee simply because I've never used powder and wouldn't know how much to recommend?
Hey! We don't get nutritional yeast in our region.. Any alternative you could suggest or will the cheese turn out to be fine without it?
Are you still vegan ?
Of course!
Onion and Garlic powder to make something taste like cheese? Really? Hmmm....
Vegan 16 years, vegetarian 46 years.
Yummy!!
