Happy father's day now that's settle enjoys lost star Terry O'Quinn & get to the kills!
Can you do all the terminators
skibidi Ohio🤪🤪🤪
Can you do the second and third and the remake of the movies
Hey Jamesa. Janisse can you continue the puppet Master franchise? Because I think I like that one. So yeah this is a puppet Master video request
"This girl is 16 years old! 👹"
"So am I 🤨"
Honestly, what a great dialogue
. 💬
☝️🤓
Honestly that line was too good lol

"Who am I here?" Is such an underappreciated line in horror. Like obviously the people who know this movie know the line, but it deserves the same recognition as other famous horror lines.
Absolutely brilliant writing
“Next time Jim, Call before you drop by” 🐐
I always compare the original delivery and the remakes. Preferring the original delivery over the remakes. I show both clips to friends and most agree that O Quinn's delivery showcase's far more confusion and panic as a man's world is torn apart before him. Meanwhile the remake is more anger and rage forcing him into a psychotic break.
"Wait a minute, who am I here?" is one of the greatest movie lines of all time
It's so chilling too. You could even further extrapolate it to be a metaphor about living a fake life, if you were so generous and if you made this movie in the last 5 years instead of in the 1980s. It's so good.
I'm not gassing you up at all when I say that this might be my favorite year for the channel(s) so far. You've been killing it with the behind-the-scenes stuff, Chelsea's been great on the podcast, and all your side projects have been a total hit for me. I've been looking for a sort of horror variety channel on RUclips for years since I wasn't around during the height of Elvira, Svengoolie, etc. and Dead Meat has been IT for me for six years. Keep on killing it!
Thank you so much. I'm immensely proud of the work we've been doing this year and it's nice to see comments like yours agreeing
@@DeadMeat Let's fucking gooooo!!
Agreed!
I agree!! Ive been following for a while now and I absolutely love this channel. James and Chelsea make the perfect duo for this type of channel. And I love their fun podcasts. I still haven't seen all of the videos but I will!!!
Absolutely loved the shoutout to researcher Bella at 9:48. Not enough big channels give proper credit to their teams as talented individuals, and I've noticed that a lot of the Dead Meat team has been getting a lot more shoutouts and recognition ever since the new era with folks like Zoran and Chelsea hosting their own episodes and the intro including the "and show you how they were made" line. Seems like a great team to work for and these all around improvements are certainly appreciated.
The thing O'Quinn understood is that the Stepfather, despite his actions, is ultimately a tragic figure, forever chasing something he'll never achieve because the "perfect family" does not exist. That scene where he forlornly looks at the other family shows the inner sadness of the character.
I see that too. He wants to be a family man but he can’t. He‘s stuck doing the same thing again and again, the definition of insanity.
Terry O'Quinn is one of my favourite Actors since his Role of John Locke on Lost. He's amazing in it, watching Lost just for him is worth it.
I remember watching the Stepfather Movies about 10 Years ago for the first Time and he's just amazing in this one
Prost & Cheers from Berchtesgaden in the Bavarian Alps
He's just an abusive loser stuck in his own fantasy of perfection. Seen it before. It's tragic, sure, but ultimately his own fault, and he deserves every bit of misery that he brings upon himself.
Yup. It's what the remake got wrong by making the Stepfather completely unlikable.
Nope. No sympathy for murderers.
"I'm the kill daddy" is not sentence I thought I would hear in my lifetime
dude fr
If anyone has earned that title it's James
@sherylsmallwood-valdivia5375
Agreed
“We don’t have a father here we have a father who stepped up and killed” 😂😂😂😂
He was really proud of that pun, lol. Love it
Makes me wonder "Did Zoran kill somebody?" 😅
@@mystical423 lol
lowkey a genius line!
To me, The Stepfather has one of the best opening sequences in horror history. You see him washing blood off of himself and shaving so you know he's already killed somebody and is trying to make a run for it but the shot revealing that he killed his wife and child still packs a punch in spite of that knowledge. Then, you follow it up with him casually walking out of the house whistling as if nothing happened underscores how evil just blends in and how it's often the people you least expect.
I agree. Brilliant opening scene.
Happy Father's Day, James... I'm sure Lucy is grateful to have a dad like you.
This channel means so much to me. Not only is this a Father’s Day kill count but it’s also my birthday today
Edit: just want to say everyone that has wished me a happy birthday is so kind. I hope whoever shares the same birthday with me has a happy birthday too!
happy birthday!!
Happy birthday!!!! 🥳🎂
Happy birthday!

Lmaoo It's my birthday too Happy Birthday
I watched this film for the first time because of the Kill Count. It was pretty good!
I'm so impressed with James being able to do Father's Day stuff on the channel despite losing his dad. Today is my first Father's Day since losing my dad and it's so difficult. Makes me appreciate James's work even more. ❤
so sorry for your loss , i hope you have the best day you can today ❤you and James are both very strong !!
@@ccdotty0That's really kind. Thank you.

sorry for your loss; i hope you have a great day:)
My mom and step dad just recently got a divorce and my biological dad died when I was a kid so I’ve been really struggling with this being my first fatherless Father’s Day in a bit so I was really happy to watch this kill count and feel a bit better about today. Another great video Dead Meat team keep it up!
Hope it gets better for you :)
I saw the remake when I was a kid, ironically living with my own nightmare stepfather (not a killer, just emotionally abusive and homophobic), so I appreciate getting the chance to compare it to the original. I really like how it goes more psychological than slasher. That feels appropriate given how it's exploring the manipulative tactics of an abuser, how they wear a false face to ingrain themselves into your life, and only start to show their true nature once they’ve gained some authority and power.
Glad you survived your nightmare stepdad. I hope you’re getting your revenge by living a great life!

"When they're not beating the shit out of each other" paired with the edited in Punching sound effects. Was so funny LOL
Wow, I never thought I would see this on the kill count. I watched this over 5 years ago now and I've always wanted to see it covered. Thanks so much James and the Dead Meat crew!
i was very pleasantly surprised to see it covered
Yes, I've hoped for it every father's day!
James, I’d like to reach out and say that I hope you have a good Father’s Day. I know days like this can be especially hard. Your father is watching you and is so proud of the work you’re doing. Keep growing, keep remembering and keep healing. ❤❤
The Stepfather (1987) is one of the most underrated horror movies of all time with a phenomenal performance by Terry O'Quinn as the main villain and it has one of the most underrated Final Girls in the Horror Genre.
Never thought id hear james say, "im the kill daddy" 💀 15:46
10:59 Wait, my dad's a plane guy, what does THAT mean?!
That means he's D.B. Cooper.

Terry O'Quinn rules. Loved him in The X-Files and LOST.
I know him best from Hawaii 5-0 where he has a recurring role.

Make sure you also watch the movie Pin (1988)! O’Quinn has a much briefer part in that film, but still a worthy performance. And a deliciously chilling movie.
Happy fathers day all!
My father ain’t here and my friend father at jail so yeah 😢
Cool
My dad invented the milk method
Thank you you too
Be thankful to y'all fathers. You could have been a feminist if not for him!
If James wants to rebrand to being called: Kill Daddy I'm in absolute support of that.

That "She's an Angel" quote from TMBG was a fucking deep cut.
Yep! I caught that and was floored!
honestly was about to say that! i always feel spoiled as a tmbg fan when they get referenced on the kill count, but having the reference be to my single favourite song by them was crazy
Kudos to James and all the crew/writers, they constantly work them in so well.
Ope, just caught the Birdhouse in your Soul one too.
Literally was checking the comments, hoping I was the first to notice. DANGIT.
Right?!
Happy father's day to all the dads, dads-to-be, godfathers/father figures and towards the dads who passed away.
Let’s get a moment of respect for James’ late father as well. Awesome episode :)
Definitely one of the best slashers of the 80s. This is so just so well made and more people need to see it
Happy Father’s Day to you fathers out there
Omg That line during the to the numbers bit. "I'm the kill daddy" 🤣
Can we please get that on a t-shirt LMAO
9:40 The reference to They Might Be Giants! Yes, thank you Dead Meat! Birdhouse In Your Soul is the catchiest song ever! I always love finding what James and the team know about
I've had various They Might Be Giants songs stuck in my head for the last few weeks, and Birdhouse in Your Soul in particular for the last few days - so to suddenly hear the same lyrics that are in my brain, being spoken aloud in a Dead Meat video, was fun, but also very weird!
Happy father's day dude.Sorry about your dad, and may he rest in peace.
When I was working on my master's degree my final project was on familicide/family --people who kill their families. John List was a case I illustrated in it. But one of the "subtypes" are the "disapointed." But of the group of (almost always men) who see their family as possessions/extensions of themselves and when the family fails to perform to expectations they are destroyed to "punish" them.
John List also claimed he was saving his family from not only financial ruin but the "sinful world" which would corrupt them and the murders would save their souls and send them to heaven.
I was so excited when Lost came out to see Terry O’Quinn get such a prominent role. He put in so many great performances in this and so many small roles in movie and TV that always made him stand out. Thanks for going back…back to the Stepfather, James!
I wish all of those who still have a father a great father's day. I lost mine last year, and i cannot begin to explain how hard life had been for the first few months. It's still weird being without him. Be sure to help your fathers out when they need you y'all
I always love the They Might Be Giants quotes! She's An Angel is one of my favorite songs
"rolling up a new character" oh man...JAMES! you gotta get a dnd podcast with your wife and editors
chelsea and zoran playing as non human characters would be amazing

Happy Father's Day. I was just thinking the other night, "I wonder if James has done a kill count on Stepfather."
Had me worried for a second that I needed to get my dad a present for Father’s Day
They verified the fact that the girl is 16, and then they had her be naked for so long, I watched this when I was probably 16 too or even a little younger. Gratuitous nudity of a character that's supposed to be a minor is creepy to me.
Yup. You can film a shower scene at the end of the film that doesn't have nudity, she's still vulnerable. Class over trash.
Michigander here. John List was born in Bay City, but his mom Alma was born in Frankenmuth- my home town. Even though John murdered his family- including his mom- in New Jersey, she's buried back in Frankenmuth at the Lutheran church's cemetary.
It happened in Westfield New Jersey like 15 minutes from my house. The family is buried in the same cemetery as Whitney Houston. The house is gone but the new one still has an eerie vibe. Such a nice upscale town. The Watcher on netflix is also based off another creepy story from that town.
@@p.u.g3312same here!!! we actually bought our house in westfield from the lead detective on the case.
going to watch popcorn ASAP. always wanted a slasher set in a movie theater as someone who formerly worked in one
definitely do, it’s a great time.
Do it! It’s wild 😂
Popcorn is great, definitely recommend it.
Popcorn is a underrated classic in its own thing, besides it has Dee Wallace in it
Happened to watch this for the first time right before it was announced as a Kill Count and I'm so happy this is on the channel! Great work as always Dead Meat team :D Can't wait for the sequel Kill Count!
15:32 how James actually feels 😂
Jim being such a supposedly important character and then just getting immediately murdered is hilarious
I am so happy that he mentionned They Might be Giants by singing birdhouse
I think 7:22 has another TMBG reference too. That line is from She's an Angel.
This movie absolutely terrified me and even more when my mom remarried luckily my stepdad wasn’t a serial killer or an abusive psychopath love ya kam!
I love you Dead Meat team!
Seeing Shelly Hack as the mom made me realize how much I’d love to see a Troll killcount. Was my favorite movie as a kid. Troll 2 gets all the meme and “so bad it’s good” love, but Troll was a classic.
Edit: Oh snap… just got to the To The Numbers bit. Not the best vid to suggest a killcount.
God I love this movie. Terry O'Quinn has never disappointed and was even a great treat in the new Walking Dead show. I remember my mother commenting on his smile when we watched LOST and he has probably the kindest smile I've ever seen. Jill Schoelen was a big crush for me back in the day and she's awesome in everything she's in too.
Fingers crossed for a Stepfather 2 kill count, it's a little silly but we get some Jonathan Brandis who really deserved so much better from the world.
James goes crazy with the They might be Giants reference at 7:22 Love that damn song
SHE'S AN ANGEL MENTIONED!!! I LOVE THAT SONG!! I'm also so happy i wasn't the only one to notice that reference
11:51 No blue! 😤
James should wear a diamond jumper and tie more often. He looks like the fan favourite character of a soap opera.

Hats off to James covering this film with losing his dad i lost my dad last September its still hard but seeing this kill count really helped,
Been fan of Terry O'Quinn since lost great actor but hadn't seen stepfather all way through until recently hes fantastic, so well done James and the team.
I wonder how many movies did dead meat give a second life to
Well, we know for a fact that Society started trending on Prime after James counted it, and he was the one that convinced me to finally give Scream VI a shot after I felt like Neve Campbell was done dirty by the producers.
I also think one of the slumber party massacre sequels, after its kill count, was trending on Porn Hub. So… there’s that 😐
Happy Father's Day Please Interview Lisa Soberano of How She Made Her Hollywood Debut in Lisa Frankenstein
No
He mentioned it in the Lisa Frankenstein kill count, James doesn't do interviews like that
Absolutely love this channel. Thank you for the great videos. I currently been going thru a health scare and just not doing so well and yea these videos have really been a help to me get my mind off stuff and yea just kinda escape this scary time. So again thank you these videos are awesome!
A health scare? Does that mean doctors follow you around yelling boo?
We need a Stepfather and Serial Mom crossover.
I love that the psychological aspects of this movie were mentioned and discussed. A deeply sinister and flawed man, chasing perfection that we know doesn't exist only to find that he can't even make it exist. I also just really like films set in suburbia because the atmosphere is always so pleasant, but there's such a darkness underneath the idyllic setting.
Thank you for another awesome kill count!
Now all we need is the inevitable Stepfather Vs. Serial Mom crossover.
16:59 Hell Yeah Totally Killer Kill Count
I remember my dad bought a bootleg copy of the remake when I was a kid. It ended up being this version, and I’ve been in love with it ever since! Thanks Dead Meat for doing a kill count!
"the step father, im counting the stepfather."
I love this channel and what it’s becoming the jokes hit basically everytime it’s so informative and entertaining throughout the video and I love how the jokes can be multi layered not only to other movies but to other videos you and the team created

A Killcount On Fathers Day 🐐 GREAT WAY TO START MY MORNING . Happy Fathers Day To All The Fathers 💙
Happy father's day to all fathers out there, I know that YOUR father would be very proud of you and your accomplishments James ❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊
My stepfather was never a killer. But I'm sure he'd get a kick out of this film. Especially if I caught him with beer and some peanuts.
K?.
Yes, I've been hoping for this movie every Father's day! It's definitely an under-rated classic and Terry O'Quinn is just amazing.
I think one of the aspects that elevates it is how they keep Jerry likeable and charming enough to not be a stock evil villain. There are parts where you almost forget he's a killer and wonder why the stepdaughter hates him so much lol.
Hope James does end up covering the sequel.
Father of 5 turning 40 soon. My dad and his love for horror got me to where I’m at. Childs play at 4 and my hands over my eyes! But happy Father’s Day!
Terry O ' Quinn is fantastic as Jerry Blake. 😀👍
Especially given the character is a deliberate enigma who we never find out about. Those can often be difficult to play, but he utterly kills it.
I was watching this while eating a snack and the beginning of the 'to the numbers' bit took me out of it so much I had to drop my food to see, what a good one, great job!
PD: Zoran already had the flannel and the humor, the only dad thing he was missing was the kid!
14:52 and Jack Frost never forget that
10:10 this literally made me spit mac and cheese on my phone… 🤣

The most underrated 80s horror film of all time? And there's a lot.
13:54 creative choices in this scene aside, I also genuinely believe in this sentiment as well! While the whole “suffering for your art” thing is morbidly interesting to a degree, and is a popular theme/trope in stories, I personally don’t want to make a movie, show, video, comic, game, whatever at the expense of my or anyone else’s health, safety, and/or sanity! As much as I wanna push the boundaries of creativity, media, creative expression and storytelling, I don’t want to do anything that could put my mental, emotional, and/or physical health in jeopardy, and same thing for anyone else!
I need to start keeping a counter of every They Might Be Giants reference James makes. That was two in one video.
