I also think it's interesting that, given eternity, Phil just 'does'. He has his period of bed rot, but without the pressures of work or money or relationships or any of the other nuances of day-to-day life that stop these other characters from putting action to their desires, Phil has the luxury to just 'do'. And he does, for better or for worse. :)
