    Straight into each, I think the Joyo sounded better. With the NUX into the front, a slight edge to the Orange. In the full mix, there were parts that if it weren’t for the indication of which amp we were hearing, it would have been difficult to tell. Neither sounded better than the other.

    • @CatPickStudios
      @CatPickStudios  6 лет назад

      They are both pretty good for the money and you can get similar sounds out of them. The Joyo can obviously do the metal thing as well, that's something the Orange would struggle with .

    Your absolutely right Its a matter of feel and characteristic preference Personally I prefer the Joys as I have a Orange 12 wt practice amp which gets the same sound with a bit more control of the signature Orange curved bottom as the Terror but for me the natural Tube limiting from the Meteor is a plus when playing just about full out for mic-ed studio applications
    Orange out performs the Joye for live no doubt about it.
    Joyo seems to be more controllable and the send return feature adds more overall flexibility.

    I just did a review on my channel of the Micro Terror last night and it's definitely more Marshall-sounding than anything else. It gets a great AC/DC or classic Def Leppard sound, and yes, it will get dirty as shit, but not with the tight bottom end of the Joyo. The Joyo is definitely a clone of the Rockoverb series and not a knock off of the Micro Terror.

  • @philippeverneris8956

    Otherwise, speaking about Joyo Bantamp amps, i've heard the great sounds of the Zombie (for MB style) and the Bluejay (for Fender style).
    So, i think that if you connect a Harvey Benton G112 cabinet (12" Celestion Vintage 30) to each amp, and then connect a ABY box to these 2 amps (in order to get either a clean sound or a high gain one, or both) it can be very interesting for a total budget lower than 650 euros...

    • @CatPickStudios

    Zdrazvoutchey Vladimir! I'm sorry I don't speak Russian. As they are at the same price, the Orange sounds a little bit better to me. Moreover, I don't understand the purpose of Bluetooth on a mono amp with a guitar cabinet?

    • @CatPickStudios
      @CatPickStudios  5 лет назад

      Haha no worries, I'm actually Finnish with some Russian roots... ;D The Bluetooth is there just for playing backing tracks through the amp. They obviously don't sound amazing coming through a guitar cab speaker, but I guess they get the job done.

    How about a micro terror sitting on its arse for 10 years while joyo adds bluetooth and loop fx for same money. Add some pedals and sound difference you think is there doesn't matter really. I like that I can afford different models - some great ones in the bantamp line.I

      Orange Micro Dark has an FX Loop. Bluetooth isn't that important as you can stream music through your laptop to play over.

    Joyo is great but these amps have not really been tested long term and they virtually have no customer support..

    Good job ! Joyo by far. Fuller , clearer sound. Orange sounds a bit thin / fizzy in comparison

    I wanted the joyo but eventually chose the orange. The joyo has more features which was calling my name. But what it doesn't have is 4ohm capability. And I just bought a set of 1980s UK made marshall mini stack speakers and they're 8ohm so it will be 4ohm parallel. I didnt want to run the joyo at 16ohm cause it wouldn't work out as well and I didnt want to use just one speaker.

    The MeteOR XL has footswitchable channels and an effects loop. If the brands were reversed nobody would buy the Orange.

      MeteOR XL didn't exist when this video was made, so it's kind of a moot point.

    Let's be real:
    the Orange amp costs at least 149 euros, has no loop effects, has no clean sound, and is rather ugly and fragile (to my opinion)...
    The Joyo amp costs 119 euros, has 2 channels, a loop effect, great sounds and in very cute in his black and yellow outfit...
    I've heard the clean sound of the Meteor on another video on youtube and it's good!
    So it seems we got a winner!!!

    • @CatPickStudios
      @CatPickStudios  5 лет назад +2

      Sound and looks are an opinion thing but there's just no way I could call Orange "fragile". Orange amps, even the small ones, are some of the most durable amps you can ever get. Check out the "how to void your warranty" video series from TGU18, those amps can take a beating (and fire and gravy etc...). Fun videos!
      Sound wise and feature wise it comes to what you prefer. I think Joyo is way more feature packed but I really like super simple amps that have more vintage sound. I don't think you can go wrong with either of these. Depending on what you are looking for be sure to check out other Joyo Bantamps as well, bunch of cool sounds available!

    When you connect like this volume on every amp should be at zero.Torpedo doesnt need volume from amp and this two signals dont match.In fact Torpedo is a power amp in this configuration what means that volume from amp can damage Torpedo.

    • @CatPickStudios
      @CatPickStudios  6 лет назад +7

      The Torpedo Live is meant to be used exactly the way I’m using it in this video: by going from amp’s speaker output to Torpedo Live’s speaker input. It loads down the amp safely and allows me to run cabinet simulated line level signal to my audio interface. Turning amp’s volume to zero would result in no sound in this setup.
