A very humble cook when he said that the taste of his dish would be 75 %. He is very personable and can speak fairly good English. You should try his Indian Rojak with sweet potatoes sauce, WITHOUT the noodles. From the look of his mee goreng, I am sure his Indian Rojak will be good, too.

Oh man... mee goreng mamak is very2 dangerously addictive. Cannot get enough... i always order another fried egg and they put chili sauce on top of it ohhhhhh I like it. And then you squeeze the lime on top of it, woahhhhh soooo goood. Also if it's spicy, the teh ais can really help haha. Or Milo ice... such an adventure hahaha
Samuraisan, you can say "Tambah satu telur mata."--which means add one sunny side egg (usually runny egg yolk, if you want it fully cooked-say "telur mata masak") when you order any fried noodles/rice/kuehtiaw etc.😊 Enjoy Malaysian food always!

Its the beauty of these small community centric restaurants in Malaysia, people enjoy the meal and company of each other, almost all of the customers there are regulars and know each other and although it is loud and there's a lot of noise in the background it only adds to the atmospheric feeling and the community feeling of the place

For any day Mee goreng is a killer addiction meal and always always add a "telur mata kerbau" means sunny side up egg with a not cooked runny egg yolk is a must and when you eat your Mee goreng make sure to enjoy the runny egg yolk with the noodles makes it taste creamier and extra delicious 😋

In the fried noodle, you have already found the fried tofu. The one you asked about was most likely a fried fritter, which is basically fried flavoured dough. There is a proper name for it, but most people will understand if you call it "kueh" as in "kueh untuk mee goreng mamak". Many shops use only one type of kueh in their fried noodles, though there are places that use more than one type.

I highly recommend the vegetable curry puff and apam from Chelo's Apam, just a few stalls down. Great for an afternoon tea-time snack. The operator's service is sometimes not kind but I and other people still go!
Each state have a very unique twist to their food, you can always find new flavours even for me as a Malaysian. As I'm from east Malaysia I gotta represent my state and let me tell you gotta try our mee goreng and laksa, the flavour is really rich compared to other states.
When i come to eat at a restaurant serving western dishes and suddenly has mee goreng, especially mee goreng mamak in their menu, definitely any day will prefer mee goreng above else!
You should try maggi goreng and mee siam with fried eggs. They are fantastic! Also, mee rebus is wonderful too, provided you can find good ones (a bit of a hit and miss. Only had 1 awesome mee rebus in my life).
In Kedah Mamak who sells mee goreng almost always also sell mee rebus. Not like in KL. What KL people call rojak in Kedah we call it pasumbur. Spelling may be wrong. Rojak is mixed vegetable and fruits on black prawn paste.

Yes, it's very cheap for middle and upper income class pple but for the lower income working Msians that plate of mee goreng offers a fantastic reasonably price affordable food for sustenance. Just say 'wow good or nice price or just say nothing, but be very happy!😂 My family had 3 bowls of simple ramen at a very small halal resto in Tokyo each bowl costs ¥1450 for 3 son and husband we paid ¥4350 plus sc not sure total how much hubby paid. But it's OK we're just on a holiday🤭 a memorable experience😂. Def gonna visit Salim's'🤤

If you enjoy Mee Mamak, you must try the one in New Apollo Coffeeshop in USJ 4. You can have the Mee Goreng (Dry) and also the Mee Rebus (with a thick sauce). This stall is a relative of the famous Bangkok Lane Mee Goreng in Penang. The taste is authentic and very good. Apart from that, you can also have the Hokkien prawn mee and the beef hor fun (flat rice stick noodles) here which are both above average standard in this coffeeshop.

That's KL mee mamak. If the fried vegetable with noodle, not authentic penang mee goreng. Both equally delicious, but you should try the one in subang, bangkok Lane mee goreng, you will be delighted if u like mee goreng.

Not Kueh, it's call cucur . Usually have 2 types. Cucur Badak and Cucur Udang.

His been there since my primary school days in the 90s . Love the ayam madu , mee rebus , roti in the morning. Unfortunately I think after moving to the new place due to space capacity he had to shrink the menu and be more focus

If you enjoy Mee Mamak, you must try the one in New Apollo Coffeeshop in USJ 4. You can have the Mee Goreng (Dry) and also the Mee Rebus (with a thick sauce). This stall is a relative of the famous Bangkok Lane Mee Goreng in Penang. The taste is authentic and very good.
Apart from that, you can also have the Hokkien prawn mee and the beef hor fun (flat rice stick noodles) here which are both above average standard in this coffeeshop.
