Hi, Miranda, I'm so glad to have discovered your channel! I've spent a pleasant week or two watching some of your older videos. I envy your shared reading interest with your mother, neither of my two daughters are much interested in reading for pleasure. And not only do your mother and I share the same first name and approximate age, we share the same taste in clothing! In one of your older videos Donna is wearing a shirt that I have been on the hunt for for months... a lovely one made from a William Morris Strawberry Thief print. Jealous, LOL! Best wishes and happy holidays!

Thank you for reminding me to pick up my copy of A Time to Keep Silence. Patrick Leigh Former is peerless. I love his teenage lone trek across Europe via the Hook of Holland. Such an incredibly gifted man, now several years gone.

I just finished reading The Story of the Country House by Clive Aslet. Thank you for the recommendation. I found it completely enjoyable. The cover art made me smile every time I picked up the book, and I appreciated Aslet's writing and the photographs. As an American, I learned so much. Thanks again!

Some wonderful recommendations as always, Miranda. Knowing your exquisite taste, I wondered what fountain pen brand you use? I'm on the lookout for a really nice one to inspire my writing away from the computer screen.
P.S. Thank you for introducing me to Bettys. My mum loves Fortnum and Mason so I made her up a hamper of Bettys' goodies for her birthday and she adored everything! I also ordered the French fancies and fat rascals for lunch, which we all enjoyed. x

Thank you so much, and am very happy you and your Mum are enjoying Betty's treats too 😊 I have been a fan of Caran d'Ache fountain pens for a long time. More recently, I discovered and am really enjoying Kaweco Sport pens which are very reasonably priced, fun and have many different colour options and nib widths. Hope that helps!

Fabulous selection as always!. I read a couple of days ago in Nigel Slater's Christmas Chronicles how he went on a televised program to Norway to pick the Trafalgar Square tree. I took a two-day cooking class there when I was in England in 2015. We started off by cutting up whole fish. I remember feeling intensely relieved when we started in on yeast breads. What a lovely inspiring collection of books/notebooks - might take me a while to assimilate it all - LOLZ! So many new things eg added Hill House on IG and didnt know of Laura Knight artist. Talking of your 30s/40s sourcebook reminded me of the novel im reading atm: 'Lillian Boxfish takes a walk' - set in Manhattan (which perhaps youve read already). I saw it in Daunt Books and the cover in black/gold /art deco ish style hooked me in! Fab book anyhow with Mad men series type themes. Thank you for your videos xx
