    I have been listening to all of Valentinas performances for over 10 years now. I am a lover of all music. Rap, rock, metal, blues, and all classical. I've always loved classical pianists the most. I've tried to listen to who the critics say are the best, but nobody comes close to touching the soul like Valentina. This woman has no equal. You would have to be insane to criticize her in favor of any other pianist in the world. I've compared her to all. There is no comparison. I will continue to listen to her performances over and over forever. It will continue to get me through the tough times in life.

A lady had a piano out in the countryside, in I assume Africa.She was playing Movement two of Beethoven's Pathetique for an elephant, who stood there beside her listening and making a musical sound. It made me gloriously happy. Nothing is more beautiful than Movement two of Beethoven's Sonata No. 8.

      The first movement is way too fast. The good thing is she unveils some the piece's hidden melodies

    • @Tore_Lund
      @Tore_Lund 4 года назад +7

      @@therealconniefrancis I was going to say this is unusual slower than I expected her to play it. But she picks up tempo later. I think a lot of Beethoven is played too slow in general. Remember his was a student of Mozart, and contemporary composers also wrote fast sonatas. The piece suddenly opens up and you hear some Liszt and Chopin in it! Playing Beethoven slowly bring its own set of problems, the fingering becomes a case of perfect timing and you get some strange Bossa Nova rhythms into it, to get your timing right.

    Bravo!
    As for me, Beethoven's work is absolutely about "time and tempo". IMO, Valentina Lisitsa is the most accomplished pianist of any I've heard (I'm 69 years old and heard many), and whose interpretation is flawless (Beethoven and others)! Her interpretation of Sonata, OP 27, Mov 1, 2 & 3 shows this as much as any other Beethoven's work. Ms. Lisitsa proves her expertise in time and tempo with her rendition of Moonlight Sonata above ALL pianist throughout 'recording' history.

      @AriannaAyers Год назад +3

      Krystian Zimmerman! This is what is said about him: Music for Krystian Zimerman is the art of organizing emotions in time. The Polish pianist's interpretations of everything from Beethoven and Chopin to Schubert and Szymanowski reveal infinite expressive subtleties and the underlying clarity of his story-telling through music. Zimerman's place among today's greatest artists remains not least on the freshness and originality of his performances, always intensely personal and prepared in meticulous detail. He may study a work for decades, exploring every facet and contemplating its meaning before introducing it to his recital repertoire or taking it into the studio. His approach belongs to a dynamic process of creative evolution, one in which self-criticism, deep reflection and intuition play significant parts. “The final thing - that which art is made of - happens in the concert hall,” he notes.

    Quand le monde fléchit autour de soi, quand les structures d’une civilisation vacillent, il est bon de revenir à ce qui, dans l’histoire, ne fléchit pas, mais au contraire redresse le courage, rassemble les séparés, pacifie sans meurtrir. Il est bon de rappeler que le génie de la création est lui aussi, à l’œuvre dans une histoire vouée à la destruction

Her grammar is only slightly off, while your reply literally makes no sense and isn't even a sentence . LOL Oh, the irony. In fact, her grammar is just as charming with her minor mistakes as her Russian accent is, from growing up in Kiev.and I for one , hope she never loses it. You really need to work on your own grammar and stop trying to be a smartass.

Himmlische Magie! Was für eine Kraft! So viel Gefühl! Danke!
    Ganz liebe Grüße auch an Deinen Mann und Deinen Sohn! Gott segne Euch!

    This is by far my favourite rendition of Pathetique. Valentina, your skills are beyond words. Your precision, your meticulous care for the notes, the emotion you put in, and with such ease as if your fingers just 'dance' on the keys. I am always speechless after watching your videos (and also starting to think you may not be from this world! haha).
