- Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf scores 8 points, as the Nuggets defeat the SuperSonics in Game 5 of the 1994 NBA Playoffs' First Round, at the Seattle Center Coliseum in Seattle, May 7, 1994. Longtime NBA broadcasters Steve 'Snapper' Jones and Dick Enberg on the call for NBC.
This Nuggets team was the first #8 seed to defeat a #1 seed in the NBA Playoffs, overcoming a 2 games to 0 deficit in the First Round to beat the SuperSonics 3 games to 2 (the best-of-7 format for the First Round wasn't introduced until 2003). They impressively came back from a 3 games to 0 deficit against the Jazz in the Second Round, only to lose in the decisive Game 7.
Overall, a tough Playoffs for Abdul-Rauf, as his usual scoring and field goal percentage dipped. But doubtful the Nuggets would have made the Playoffs without his strong regular season (leading the team in scoring with an average of 18 points per game).

People say the Rockets only won because Jordan was gone. But Jordan and the Bulls were never an obstacle to the Rockets. The obstacle was this team right here, the Seattle Supersonics. If Denver hadn't beaten them, Hakeem might not have his rings today.
Well, remember rockets had the sonics beaten in 93 and beat them in 97.
