I hit 280 in a row when I was in middle school, but 270 definitely isn’t bad, though, even for a high school player. A lot of guys can hardly make 250 in a row at that age. Most people don’t understand what it’s like, because they’ve never experienced the pressure of having the ball in their hands when the game is on the line, and 10’s of thousands of screaming fans are on their feet, watching as you prepare to shoot 2 deciding free throws, against your team’s biggest rival, to either win or lose the state championship, for your team, and your school, as well as your city. They have no idea what it’s like to have all the hopes snd dreams, not only of your teammates and coaches, but of every man, woman, and child in your entire town depending on you, with no time left on the clock, with your team down by 1 point, and with all the hot cheerleaders watching nervously, with sweat pouring off their little wet bodies, dripping from their tight, skimpy cheerleading uniforms, and soaking into their warm, promiscuous teenage underwear. They don’t know what it’s like, knowing that your dad just took out all the money he had in his life savings, plus every last cent the bank would possibly loan him, based on the value of his house, and then bet every drop of it on your team to win. They don’t know how difficult it is to shoot free throws, knowing that the pride of your town, the future of your school, and the love of all your family, friends, slutty cheerleaders, and classmates, as well as your family’s home, depends on you making them, but, believe it or not, it’s not quite as easy as it looks, for real. Now, I’m not saying it’s hard or anything, so don’t get me wrong. It’s definitely nothing close to like how Shaq always made it look-I swear, that ninja looked like it was the first time he’d ever touched a basketball, in his life, every time he had to shoot one-No, they are very easy, obviously. All I’m saying is that they can, at times, be somewhat more difficult than they look. There’s still no excuse for ever missing one, though. Only a total spaz would do that.
I saw him put up 50 points in one half in high school. One of the greatest players I've seen in person. Great work ethic. He wouldn't have been black balled the way he did in today's game for that national anthem bs. He had Turrets Syndrome and still couldn't be stopped. He is still the all time leading scorer in college basketball history for a single freshman season. The only person came close is Durant. You should check out his documentary where he tells the story about scoring on Jordan at a camp while he was in high school.

They would be spread out all over the court, it's different guarding a full half court then it is the paint with only one 3 pt shooter to worry about. Those Bulls teams would have lost to the 80's Lakers and Celtics and possibly the 83 Sixers. The Bulls didn't start winning until those teams got old and went away. Paul Busacca The reason they keep getting hate from them is cause they come from old school where three point shooting wasn't cool and they are fundamental players.
CKL EVERYTHING The three point shot wasn't used bc 1.) it didn't exist, and/or 2) they didn't know how to leverage it properly. The long-distance shot is a very fundamental part of todays game, not because it's "cool," but the influence it has in the way you can space players and score at a much more efficient rate. Thats just a fact. And people have the nerve to say the bulls would sweep the warriors with kd. Could they win a series? No doubt but its going 6 or 7 every time with no clear winner.
Rauf was killin that night, although Jordan had 39 points and Rauf 32 points, the Nuggets got the best of them that night. Keep in mind that the Bulls had an 18 game winning streak and you can't win them all. Had they met in the finals that year, the Bulls would have won the series in a sweep or no more than 5 games. Jordan and these Bulls are the best!
This was a dangerous spot for the Bulls. They had just won on the road at 2 time defending NBA champion Houston and the Lakers in Magic’s 2nd game back in his brief comeback
Wow, Phil Jackson literally opened up a major flashback of mine. I remember not knowing much about basketball and noticing this player being a straight up crazy 3 point shooter in 3's in the Kings on a 1997 video game. I bought NBA 2k2 looking for this dude but couldn't find him. It was like he literally disappeared (this was before internet was big). Fourteen years later and Phil brings up this guys name which led me to this video here. Only played like 6 or 7 years? No wonder I couldn't find him. Stephen A. Smith and Skip don't know what the hell they're talking about. Phil was on point. This is why I don't listen to pointless critics. If you're not on the court then you don't know what the hell other players, or even coaches, are referring to when they make references or comparisons.
Phil Jackson has been part of the NBA for about 50 yrs. He coached against Mahmoud, and saw how this tiny guard destroyed his Bulls when they were at their apex. Steph Curry reminded him of Mahmoud and he made that comparison on twitter of all places. The fanboys were in full attack mode with Steph Curry’s nuts dangling all down their throats talking like they know more about the NBA than Phil Jackson. This is Why I despise all “fanboys”!
Man I remember this game because I was fascinated with his shooting ability! I was always a fan of shooters, I wish we had more access to national games back then.
Thanks for this upload.....I can actually remember being in my brother's room watching this very game on a small 17" tv. Ha, i was sitting on a waterbed. Love the 90s!

+colenbrak you don't get it. It's not about who won the game. The argument in recent months has been Curry would not be able to do in the 90s what he does today because of the physical D in the 90s. Horseshoes!! Abdul Rauf is physical proof that sick handles combined with a hair-trigger release, WITH accuracy, can withstand ANY defense in ANY era!!!
Isn't this funny? Curry is V2.0 of Abdul-Rauf and some say that he'll never survive in that era... I'm just seeing here he DEMOLISHED the best team ever in the NBA (in my opinion) and not even Jordan could stop him... 27-52 2nd QTR? Just insane...

Already knew about this guy, one of the most under rated players ever. Was black balled by the nba once he became a converted Muslim. Glad Phil Jackson gave him a shout out bc I'm willing to bet the average basketball fan never knew who this dude is.
I can't believe NBA fans are too "YOUNG" to remember Abdul-Rauf. I thought the median age was 34 for NBA fans. He had one of the highest BB IQ ever in the game.
redpilllifesaver It's the ULTIMATE complement by Phil. Because Abdul-Rauf was UNGUARDABLE and people under estimate Steph Curry's passing ability but he's an excellent passer just like Abdul-Rauf. Next people will say Drazen Petrivic wasn't good.
Sheene Nuri Stephen A Smith tried to make it seem like Abdul -Rauf wasn't good.I know he wouldn't acknowledge the national anthem. He also had a condition that caused him too twitch. I wonder if he didn't have that condition how good he would of been.If I'm not mistaken he just quit playing in the nba, don't know why.
Abdul- Rauf suffered from Tourette’s syndrome his whole career no one even realized it and was one of the best shooters in history, would be fun to see Steph Curry go against him.
I remember being at this game with my dad when I was 5 years old. We went to the team store after the game to get me my first Nuggets jersey. I wanted Rauf but they were sold out of his jersey so we got McDyess instead
When he was a freshman at LSU, he was so good that everyone at the park used to argue about who was better, Chris Jackson (Abdul-Rauf) or Michael Jordan? That's how good he was.
Nah me and my dad were actually talking about who were the best shooter of all time and I said Reggie miller, my dad said this guy I didn't know him but now I believe that he is the best
I think there's a strong possibility that Phil Jackson might be right on this one, Mahmoud has a sweet release there could be an argument there, but his basketball IQ looks sharper then Stephan Curry's.. but in my considered opinion i think that Mahmoud sorta got black balled from the NBA because of his political views!!.. #ijs
Forgot how good M.A.R. was. But people forget that it's tough to win in Denver because of the altitude. The bulls played the nuggets again that season and M.A.R had 19pts and Jordan had 33 and the Nuggets lost by 10+.
If you don’t think Steph would kill in the 90’s era you’re basically saying Steve Kerr is too physical for him & is capable of locking him up and that’s laughable...we’re talking about the best pure shooter of all time while also being one of the best ball handlers of all time and can move off the ball c’mon! In this era guards like Kerr could survive by being efficient at one thing, shooting. In today’s nba guards have to be so multidimensional, shoot, pass, make plays, defense, control tempo or they won’t survive, there is no room to hide inefficiencies in today’s league. Steph, Kyrie, Lillard, Wall, Russ, Harden, CP3, Lou Williams, would all be brought up on chargers in this era.
I got into an all out war in a comment section and all these delusional Jordan fanboys keep preaching how the Bulls will beat the Warriors blah blah blah HaNdChEcKiNg blah blah blah. The Warriors and Steph Curry would run that Bulls team off the court.
I'm so glad Phil made that tweet this only proves my point that nowadays players can score in the "almighty great era" of back then. I hate hate hate when people say players like lebron, kd, Dwade, Stephen curry or whoever it may be wouldn't be able to score back then. Like fuckkkkk no! They'd torch the hell out of these defenses. Especially a young Dwade, because he's no where near soft.
Look at the playoff games off Knicks, Pacers, Pistons (early 90's) for a better idea. This is a typical regular season game. I've been watching basketball since the late 80's. Having said that I still don't agree that our top players today would not do well back then. The games were brutal and low scoring, but I actually think that Curry would still have thrived in that era. Hard to stop a guy who launches contested threes from well beyond the arc at a high percentage. I just appreciate the amazing shooting clinic that Curry is putting on now. M.A.R. looks a little like Curry when he was on fire. Curry this season is doing it consistently every night.
Eddie Irene good for you not being caught up in nostalgia. yup, ive also watched vids by the bad boy pistons. only noticed the physicality inside the paint but not from perimeter. i agree that curry would do just fine even with the old school rules. i mean, handcheck wouldnt work on the likes of curry/thompson since they can kill you with catch and shoot
Style of play very similar but Rauf was a national all american in high school and college protege. He was traded after his best season and rules with hand checking different in 90's. Best percentage from free throw line ever in history but needed 30 more to be in record books. I agree, if Rauf played in this style and given more playing time as he did in college easy 25 to 30 points per game. No one can stop him period. He shot over Malone, Mason who was 6 foot 7 and 250 lbs, Penny Hardaway, Jordan. You name them Rauf has videos destroying them. Remember in 95-96 only Jordan and Richmond more efficient in points per minute till half way thru season when he playing time went down due to controversy. Agree Rauf faster, jumped higher, and quicker release but only 6 foot and 155 lbs so Curry much bigger and has strength and closer to Nash.
+Ell Jay Not even fucking close. Curry has a one motion shot...as far as I know no one else shoots like that. The only thing they have in common is that they are light skinned lol
+Ell Jay I would make the argument there were several proto-curry's before the actual Steph Curry. One example, at least from my perspective, would be Mark Price. His style of play was similar to how Curry does it today.
+Rodney Fredericks idk. using dickrider at the right moment is pretty funny. These guys aren't super similar. I don't think Curry shoots as quickly as this guy, and the passing is most certainly quicker than Curry. That being said, Curry has a vastly superior handle.
THAT'S why Phil has such a vivid memory of Abdul-Rauf - cause he lit his team up!!
yep lol
Lol
MJ can't even stop him.. too quick, too fast, too hot, too furious.. why isn't this guy in the hall of fame yet?
+Roland Tecson Because the NBA ostracized him from the league because of his political beliefs.
Because he set an example of what great basketball players can do if they disagree with their country's government. cause he speak the truth
He did it on the 95-96 bulls

redpilllifesaver It's the ULTIMATE complement by Phil.
+Sheene Nuri loved his game
5:00 MJ in the huddle yelling at his teammates like he wasn't getting his ass cheeks BUSTED just like everyone else FOH🤣
Yeah! You are absolutely right. He was busting their asses.
And a great passer to.Complete !!!
You know Wennington got grilled for missing that dunk.
anyone see Jordan say I'll take em in reference to Abdul at the time out
You know you got game when you are the smallest guy on the court and they have to double team you! Dude was boss!!
Steve Kerr was like, wtf - who IS this guy??
The best is 0:19 Jordan BLOCKED by Motombo.. how come they do not show that on TV Jortards..hahah ...lol
Curry stans hate when i say this guy was better. Abdul-Rauf was better in every way curry just has had a longer career.
Yea his play style was better
They both just shot the ball the same, Mahmoud was more like an Iverson with handles drive and passing with curry shooting that's really bout it
Jordan was having problems!
Christian Owens Hoops Jordan had problems on AI
When he was a freshman at LSU, he was so good that everyone at the park used to argue about who was better, Chris Jackson (Abdul-Rauf) or Michael Jordan? That's how good he was.
Rauf had Kerr looking like he was in 8th grade… he didn’t realize back then that he was playing against a Steph-like God. 🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯
Did the view count shoot up because of Phil Jackson's tweet?
yup
Only reason why I'm here lol
yessir
Nah me and my dad were actually talking about who were the best shooter of all time and I said Reggie miller, my dad said this guy I didn't know him but now I believe that he is the best
Yes!!!
#ijs
4:51 ....just listen to what Red Kerr (the announcer) says. That was how ridiculously popular the Bulls were at this time.
he needs to be in the hall of fame
And people think kd, curry, klay wouldn't cook them
Best player of all time.
Close game. Respect! ✊🏾
Coach Kerr is getting served by Rauf!
Forgot how good M.A.R. was. But people forget that it's tough to win in Denver because of the altitude. The bulls played the nuggets again that season and M.A.R had 19pts and Jordan had 33 and the Nuggets lost by 10+.
who else came here because of Phil Jackson's tweet??
+corron johnson Everybody came here because of Phil
+corron johnson just the casual fans
@@Terror832 What about handchecking though?
Bulls were on a 14 game winning streak going into that game if I recall.
Especially a young Dwade, because he's no where near soft.
anyone got a link for the full game?
Bulls did great they came back even lead in the 4th quarter.
I remember this game nuggets was up by 30bulls came back and lost by 6
He had just found his game in the NBA. And the powers that be knew he was going to be a force to deal with.
Rauf the Original Curry💪💪💪💪💪💪🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀🏀
Jordan was not assigned to check the number one free throw shooter in the NBA at 92 percent.
The best pure shooters to play in the NBA an outstanding free throw shooter until black balled out of the league Salute AKA Chris jackson
Rauf mestari
Guys, we have the so much awaited face-to-face between Curry & Jordan ! This is how Curry would have beaten the ass of Jordan and the Bulls 92.
Lol
lol no he wouldnt
CHOKER CURRY
He looks like Drazen Petroviç
NBA did him DIRTY! He should've been a Hall of Famer
Rauf was underrated
We hear so much about jordan and pippen, the dobermans. They wanted none.
came here to see the supposed PERIMETER lock down defense of the 90s.. foul on 7:24, soft just like today. honestly, i don't see much of a difference
+jayshawnred84 and Oscar Rob, and Sir Gnarles etc etc etc. #Curry>Jordan, no question
+Graham Bean at shooting and dribbling, that is all.
+Adam Whitney When Curry leads the league in scoring while also being the defensive player of the year, we can discuss this again.
Greatest off-the dribble shooter of all-time...#1 FT % in NBA history
Curry has a higher FT% now.
LOL Phill made these players Famous again.
only to casual basketball fans, real fns knew him before
Style of play very similar but Rauf was a national all american in high school and college protege.
Yeah sure this guy>curry
U know u good when mike says he'll guard u
The proto-Curry. Same stroke, same quick release shot.
Same light skin, same beard style
+Ell Jay Not even fucking close. Curry has a one motion shot...as far as I know no one else shoots like that. The only thing they have in common is that they are light skinned lol
+Jalen Fowler very mature. The level of stupidity on the internet knows no limits. But thank you for that mental midget.
