    I have a 2018 c350e and I never had a problem other than flat tires, it already has more than 35 thousand kilometers, maybe the low beams are too short on the road, but that's okay. We have done more than 500 kilometers in one go without any problems.

    • @Endfloat
      @Endfloat  3 года назад +3

      35,000 kilometres isn't much mileage. I hope for your sake it doesn't give you any problems.

  • @dfjoleary
    @dfjoleary 2 года назад +3

    Have the estate version. Have it for a year and a half now and while it started out being fine, it slowly grew to be a major problem car. Oil pressure solenoid wiring loom failed and apparently it’s a common fault and Mercedes have re-engineered the replacement part thereby admitting it’s inferior - not a recall though… repaired for €750. Now the heat converter for the battery has failed and the car is undriveable without it. €2,500 to repair. As with other contributors here, my sentiment is that you expect quality when buying a luxury brand but this car falls far short of reasonable reliability and build quality. Never again.

  • @IMW001
    @IMW001 3 года назад +6

    i've bought this car on 70000 miles and have spent thousands on it in the space of 6 months of ownership, common fault vent-line leaking which travels up the engine wiring loom and makes it to the ecu, also changed water pump, also changed starter, also changed boot lid soft close motor

    You buy a mercedes and you think you are buying premium, your not, you are buying mass produced cars built to a price, it’s a terrible sham they used to build outstandingly good high quality cars since the star went from the grille on the w124 to sit on the bonnet that was the beginning of the end for a great marque, i would definitely get rid for something more reliable, great to see your honesty in the video and not all the rubbish product endorsement we see everyday, keep up the good work

    • @Endfloat
      @Endfloat  3 года назад

      You're absolutely right. Unfortunately there's a lot of manufacturers like this. At least in years gone by when cars were unreliable, you had some chance of fixing them yourself.

  • @dfjoleary
    @dfjoleary 2 года назад +1

    Also, hybrid owners should factor in the hybrid battery replacement costs when buying. The C350e hybrid battery is approx €5k to replace. The Mercedes warranty is 6 years or 100k which is good but if you’re buying a used car that period will likely be gobbled up.

  • @adamkernohan
    @adamkernohan 3 года назад +3

    My 2p worth, a bit disappointed by my c350e, issues with charge flap not opening, blown turbos, plug in hybrid with a turbo not a great idea in hindsight, always start the car engine and warm up a little before setting off, service with really good oil it’s a fussy pants setup. My advice, go full electric on the like of the mg estate or get a petrol motor just like c200 etc. save the hassle.

    • @Endfloat
      @Endfloat  3 года назад

      I think if you want a reliable hybrid, you won't go far wrong with a Lexus or Toyota, or any Japanese or Korean cars to be honest.

    Just before covid hit us in 2020, I walked in a Mercedes dealer, saw one I liked, brand new on the lot, 19 km on the odo . After a test drive, to the dismay of the salesperson, I plugged in a OBD 2 reader; 8 recorded / stored faults already, but no lights on the dash (not sure why). I don’t care if some were easy fixes or not: it is a $80k car. That was the end of the negotiation. And the end of the Mercedes brand for me. Cousins and BIL had 3 Mercedes between themselves, albeit 4 or 5 years older, and also had faults (and with check engine lights). They are super refine to drive, yes, but perhaps they are not built for Canadian winters. I did not have such issues with other brands (well, my Audi had 1 fault: mid front speaker was not connected); Lexus 350, Boxster, mustang, Regal, and Honda Pilot = no fault stored at time of road testing them. I know Mercedes might have catch these during the inspection, but still....

Trying to impress people you don't know with cars like this is a big mistake.Why do people want to make a silly statement about a car.? That is shallow. It says nothing good about the person driving it only that they are attention seeking deficit in unhappy lives hoping objects make them feel better about themselves. Luxury statements are illusions empty and expensive. Be truthful to yourselves and not a slave to a lie for others to think you are more .
