Canopy is one of our all-time fav games, so we're really excited to get this deluxe version for 2-4 players! I'm glad to see a lot of the same mechanics as the original, while refining the gameplay and making it work with more than 2 players❣️ Thanks for the preview🎉
Every time I watch one of your videos y'all never fail to make me smile! 😀I have never played Canopy, but am getting it now and have backed this Evergreen one on KS. It looks like a great game!
I love Canopy, especially at 2 player. At 3 or 4 players (my version included variant rules for solo and 3 or 4 players) with having the drafting card piles between players, I feel like it makes the wildlife set collection aspect potentially impossible. That is, if you get the snake, but the other snake ends up between two other players, there's no way you can get it. I don't know that it impacts the balance or anything in a real way, but I don't like that and it seems this version doesn't change that. However, the setting of this one is much closer to home for me and as you say Vincent Dutrait did a fabulous job! I'm not sure about the player boards and the bigger box either. I see your point on the 3D trees, though for me it's a bit hard to tell on video and I do really like the card approach of the original. Really tough decision, but you did a great job with the video to help inform which way I go, thank you!
That's the thing that I appreciate about the wildlife being in a separate deck. Instead of it being a random show-up in the deck, you have a better chance of getting the wildlife that you want. Unless someone sees that you are trying to collect a specific type of wildlife and hate-drafts. Where the 3 & 4-player variant is concerned, original Canopy was really a 2-player game.
@@blackboardgaming5348 oh, I see, I guess I didn't clue in on that, nice! I also tried to find the rules on the kickstarter, but didn't see them. That does sound like a nice change!

Beautiful art!!!
I quite enjoyed your rules explanation, thank you!
Great review and tutorial. I think I might sharpie the edges of those tokens to make them stand out a bit.
