We finally have space for a cat wheel!! We considered building one ourselves, but it seems like it would be difficult to make it run smoothly and safely. It was crazy expensive (import fees, I guess), but it's feeling worth it. :D

I get that most of it is import fees, but for 500 bucks I'd expect the dang thing to come with an Allen wrench that fits. But Nagi high, chilling on the wheel and stretching out to reach the treat as the wheel swung him closer to Jun was adorable.
You remind me myself. I bought the biggest cage I can find in my country for my two budgies 😂 It was extremely expensive, especially for a student like me , so I searched for months to find it second hand. After months I found a good deal shipped across country , repaired and cleaned it ,and now these two guys enjoying their life in their villa :-) The joy of them is joy of mine. They deserve the best. 😊
You are only kind, but wise too. Glad you found, and were able to clean and repair, a villa for your budgies. They deserve to be spoiled just like dogs and cats.
i have a pet snake, and i’m spending a good chunk of money and time building her a custom enclosure. a lot of people will say you can chuck them in a little rubbermaid as long as it’s hot and humid enough, but i could never… i want my pets to thrive, not just survive yknow?
When I bought my cat her wheel, I did everything to teach her to use it, including letting her watch videos of cat running on a wheel. After about 4 months, she just hopped on and started using it. I often hear her on it in the middle of the night.
For Pichi, I recommend going super slowly. Evan and Katelyn learned in training their cat to use a cat wheel that you should start off getting the cats comfortable getting on and off the wheel on their own, then get them comfortable with walking on it. It's a good thing your new house is so noise dampening, you won't be woken by the cat wheel at 2am!
I've been placing food on the wheel for her to eat. She's gotten two paws up on it so far, but the other cats have been getting in the way and spinning the wheel and then scaring her off, lol.
So glad Nagi took to it like a pro! I've had one for 4yrs now and my cats enjoy it. Charlie takes "strolls" but his sister Cookie runs full speed on it! Often I wake up to the sound of the wheel at 3am when Cookie is having her fun.

Right now we run them on it before feeding them so we're getting a lot of use out of it! And they are super adorable on it.

I've learned so much about the cat walk cycle just from watching this. I always thought of cats as walking by corners like a horse, but you can see all the kitties walk with both feet on each side at a time.
I spent too long trying to think of a cat pun to comment with... The best I got was "Wheel of Fur-tune". I could legit just watch a stream of this for hours. It's so wholesome and healing

Cat wheel! Wheeeeee! All you need to do now is to put a poster of a nice scenery on the wall behind the wheel, to make it look like the cats are on an epic journey. I've seen others get these for their cats, and for the most part the cats seem to like it. There's always that learning period at first, when the cats try to figure out why the "ground" is moving, but once they get it, they just take off running. This wheel does seem a bit flimsy though. They can't be too heavy, because then they take too much energy to both start and stop moving, but I'd think the rattling would be off-putting for the cats (and the humans). I know of two other cat channels, both from Korea, where they have wheels like this made from particle board. Those seem a lot less flimsy, while still quite light. I don't know what they paid for them, though, or where they got them from.

We have 2 indoor cats and we got them a wheel when they were about 1 year old. 2 years on, my boy cat never cared for it at all but it is his sisters very favourite thing in the world. I have one too. My cats had to get used to it at first. Two years later they still absolutely love it and use it everyday for at least 2 hours in total. I'm so glad I got one made of wood and metal that's completely silent. You can only hear their steps. Best decision ever. If you got the space, get your cats one. It makes them so much happier...no fights anymore between them, only for the wheel once in a month or so 🤣
@@sMArtArtTart I bought mine from a really small company in Hungary. (custom and handmade, but because it's from Hungary the price was great) Mine is a different type than the usual one that you see here. It's one with a wheel axle, so no chafing. Mine is like a wooden and metal version of the "Toy-Go-Round Cat Exercise Wheel". You can find lots of videos of that one on RUclips.
Omg I love this !!!! I’ve been wanting to get one of these for my 10 month old kitty Thank you for making this video to show the beginning- setting this up, hoe they all first reacted, the work it took to finally get them to walk/run in this ! Wonderful…❤
I have always wanted to buy one of those wheels for my cats, but the price is too much! Your cats seem very interested in their new wheel. I predict that they will be zooming around it in no time. Your new home is beautiful and I know you both are enjoying it immensely. I love seeing Nagi walking around that wheel. He will teach the others how to move on the wheel. Haiku isn’t getting it quite as easily, but he will. Cats like to compete with each other and are also very curious about anything new in the house. Now you and Jun have everything in place for starting a family when you like. I hope you will continue to video so I can watch from West Virginia in the United States. You are a blessed couple and your cats are wonderful. You certainly give them a good home, and you cater to each one’s personality and needs. Keep posting your videos and enjoy your life. It passes quickly, and before you realize time has passed you are retired and your family grown. Blessings sent your way!
It's worth it for the cats and for your viewers! Glad they liked it. And the minimalist design looks great in your house (as compared to any homemade one). Would love to see the rest of the house.
Rachel and Jun, have you considered placing the catwheel next to your large windows so they can have a view of your garden? it's like taking a walk in a way.... unless of course they'd be too distracted with the garden view?

I'm so glad I got one made of wood and metal that's completely silent. You can only hear their steps. Best decision ever. If you got the space, get your cats one. It makes them so much happier...no fights anymore between them, only for the wheel once in a month or so 🤣
where did you buy yours? who makes it? I need a good quiet one. thank you!
@@channelsettings6112 thank you!
poki could win the cat track and field olympics all he needs is a constant supply of food
Omg Poki meowing louldy directly into the microphone startled me 😅
Haku meowed so aggressively when you first put him on it that my own cat came in from the other room to see what the heck had happened. 🤣🤣
Omg I love this !!!!
I’ve been wanting to get one of these for my 10 month old kitty
Thank you for making this video to show the beginning- setting this up, hoe they all first reacted, the work it took to finally get them to walk/run in this !
Wonderful…❤
Ok but can we talk about how the music at the end matches the rhythm of Nagi's little steps perfectly? 8:36
Your house looks beautiful! Very happy for both of you, and the little ones! :D
Glad to see you both doing well and happy. I wish you all the best. greetings and love from Austria!
Can't wait to see the cats climbing around the new house!!! Hope all of you are settling in well!
You two are so much fun to watch. I love your cats too. Smart Nagie. Sorry about spelling. Great exercise for you. ❤️🥰
The level of concentration on Nagi face is so cute
This was an absolute delight to watch! Your playground for cats-- I mean new house is turning out great!
What a nice surprise! You rarely upload so when you do it’s extra exciting! ❤️
It's worth it for the cats and for your viewers! Glad they liked it. And the minimalist design looks great in your house (as compared to any homemade one). Would love to see the rest of the house.
Can't wait to see buff Poki in the next video
Awesome job, glad to see the cats slowly adapt to this wheel. I am thinking about getting one for my 2 cats as well. Loved the video you guys did.
Rachel and Jun, have you considered placing the catwheel next to your large windows so they can have a view of your garden? it's like taking a walk in a way.... unless of course they'd be too distracted with the garden view?
