Thanks for this imformative video, I definitely wanna try to make one of my own! and thank you for making the files free to access 😄appriate the effort you've gone through to make your kitties a new toy
Nice design except a bit noisy, perhaps you could use a softer material for the support wheels such as polyurthane ? I believe you can buy tapered bushes in this material or just buy some skate board wheels and machine a taper on them?
It is a bit noisy, but I think it is mostly the large ring. Skateboard wheel would certainly help to reduce a lot of the noise. But the cats seems happy and it is not in a place where it bothers me. But for small places it is certainly a thing to keep in mind.
great video! I have two cats, and they are leaning towards chubby side so I'd like to make this for them for exercise. Would I be able to take the part templates, and have the pieces cut out at Home Depot or something?
When I tightened the wheels the wheel housing with the bearing pushed out a bit (I tightened it a bit too much). This bit of skewness made something catch, but I am not completely sure what. But when I looked I saw the housing was not straight and saw why and adjusted it to be in line and everything worked. In the new video a new sound can be heard just after I installed the speedometer - this is because the the housing was millimeters too tall because I measured wrong. The fix here was sanding the housing a bit which solved the problem.
I export the sketch for each part I need as a .DXF file (I usually import it into CorelDraw to group and arrange and send to the laser cutter). To export a part right-click on the sketch of the part you want and select "save as DXF".
@@walterhartmann4830 hey I don't think so it's cheaper to but 1 meter running wheel, at least in my country. It is from 150€ minimum and still it was 95cm length.
Very, very clever to use tapered wheels to keep the rails centered. I love the design! Thank you for providing plans, I'd love to make one.
No problem. I hope your cats also like it :)
Careful with using carpet, cats claws can get stuck and while running they could really hurt themselves. Cork or rubber are safer options :)
Merci!! Joli travail, quelle patience vous avez!!! Combien d'heures avez-vous mis pour faire ce monument? Vous rendez vos chats heureux. BRAVO. ❤❤
Wow! That’s amazing! Good job. 👏🏻
Can't possibly choose a favorite... but Perdjie's mischief at the end of the video steals the show
This is so amazing, such skills u have wood working! nice job

All of your cats are Perfect. :)
That is a big cat! And it's getting bigger?!
I love the attention to detail on the wheel. Particularly using cones to auto center it.
I think Perdjie is almost fully grown so just a bit bigger. The male Maine Coon cats are still bigger.

Amazing work as always! Also can’t choose a favorite, as they’re all so cute! But I definitely see which one likes to get into mischief! 😂
Wow, I love it so much. All the cats are cute and I want to make one for my cat.
You should! Get the plans and do it!

I am not sure how home depot works, but it they or any other place cuts wood from plans using a cnc machine or laser cutter then it would work.
Well done
Beautiful! What was causing the clicking noise, out of curiosity?

Very cool! How did you go from a Fusion 360 design file to laser cut parts?

Nice project but cheaper to buuy one
