Hey just wanted to stop by and say THANK YOU!! This is thr perfect Bambulab P1S unboxing and setup video!! You teach and show so much, I really apprecaited!! Especially the clog issue. You're the best!!
Excellent setup and walk-through, particularly of the best way to correct an AMS jam. Just a small point - the desiccant bags should remain in the AMS during use, as they help keep moisture down in the AMS. They want you to remove the desiccant bags from the plastic bags they're shipped in and then put them back into those compartments for use.
I kept thinking as he was removing them... That's not how this is supposed to work. Could use a correction, that's a slightly important step to not mess us.
Yeah, the instructions are not good: "Remove the bags of desiccant" should be replaced with "Remove desiccant from bags and place back into the container"
I wanted a printer with enclosure for printing other filament than PLAS and PETG so I sold my A1 and bought the P1S. The P1S got a lot off warping with PLA especially on the left side. For every day printing cleaned my plate with hot water and soap. So I was disappointed and want the A1 back. Looked at internet and there was a lot of the same problem. What I thought could be the problem was the Aux Fan and that seems the solution they mentioned. Tried it on 10% and 0% and It worked for me. No warping with PLA. Hope it will continue so.
Thank you for a detailed review my friend. Buying the p1s as we speak and the blockage guidance is something that I've never seen explained before. Thanks from the uk.
Put back the Dessicant after removing it from it's plastic bag! The sticker clearly says that! Moisture can and will ruin your prints, or your filament will start to break easily once it absorbs moisture. Hydra AMS exists for a reason. Remember to print an AMS riser too as it helps when printing PLA. Just leaving the front door open may not always be enough.
Excellent Video Mathew, I appreciated the detailed explanation, well done! I’m going to start to put my P1S combo together! Also thanks for your help in the store today!
Thanks for this! All the other unboxings I was able to find had the P1S packed differently (without the updated AMS securing method). Excellent information and great presentation!
I'm setting mine up today! I've been using cad to create all sorts of things for the past few months. Hopefully I can actually print them! We will see what changes I will need to make for good prints! Brand new to 3D printing, so......
Hey, thank you for this. I have a sovol sv06 plus and looking to get another better printer. I think i will pass on the AMS and just get the P1s without the AMS. If i want to change colors, i can do so manually, which would save a lot of waste. I was ready to buy the combo, but your video showed me i dont want all that waste. I can always wait for a sale on the AMZ if i change my mind later. Thanks
But printing with a manual spool change with filament without AMS is practically the same as printing with AMS and choosing one color at a time. So, just like with the manual change - print the 1st color, then the 2nd color and then the 3rd color, for example - and only 3 scraps will come out of the printer. That is, the same as if you change manually one coil at a time.
I’m struggling a lot with getting started with setting it up and this video seems to offer the best walkthrough I’ve found so far. I just got this model a couple of days ago and started unboxing it yesterday once I cleared a space for it. I gave up last night after I couldn’t figure out how to get the AMS part out of the inside. I couldn’t unscrew the screws. I really want to impress my mom and show her how useful it is and how I can actually make money with this hobby too because she thinks this is a useless waste of money. I have gray filament and a multicolored filament, but I’m regretting the gray filament and wish I had gotten white or a duo tone filament.
@ Thank you, I appreciate your kind offer. I was able to get it set up after watching a combination of other videos. My problem was that I didn’t have enough light see how to get the wrench in the proper place to be able to turn it and unscrew the screws. The second problem I encountered was when the styrofoam beneath the bed plate needed to be removed. I watched a video where the person demonstrating turned the printer on and raised the bed in order to remove the styrofoam, so that worked perfectly for me. It has been functioning properly for now, so I have been printing something new almost every day either while I’m sleeping or at work so I have a nice surprise to wake up to or come home to, haha. :) What have you been printing or what do you have plans to print? Perhaps I’ll post a video sometime, but I think it would need to be either something really cool or something useful I’ve designed myself in order to do that. Thank you again
buying this as my first dive into the 3dp world.. For a starter cost frame of reference ...can anyone give me a guestimate of how many of those boats or similar single color min waste file item I could print with a 1kg (2.2lb) roll of 1.75mm filament?
Did you crack open the door a little while printing in PLA? I’ve seen all kinds of opinions on that and also taking off the lid. I have the AMS so that would be kind of difficult to do actually. Thanks for the great video.
Just ordered one. Great video, that's all gonna help me get setup faster. Great observation about the waste when color changing, thanks for showing and weighing the pile. Have you found any setting/configuration methods that work well to reduce it? Thanks again!
I have Dermatitis similar to yours and I have never found a way to get rid of it entirely. I did find a temporary fix with CeraVe SA moisturizer use every day. My skin would burn from the dermatologist recommended creams prescribed. I hope a useful tip.
Hi, nice video. How much slower is multi material print comparing to 1 material print? I know it depends on multiple factors but for example benchy in 2 colors half half verticaly to 1 color?
@@amateur87 hey there, it usually takes a lot longer. Let's say a regular benchy on standard speed takes 30 minutes. Bi-color would take a few hours. However, the time penalty doesn't increase if you print more copies of the same item. The number of colour changes per layer stays the same. So ideally, you'd want to print a full plate of copies of the same model to decrease the amount of wasted time and material per copy.
Theoretically, you could, I might not recommend it though. Stick with the PEI build plate that comes with the machine and I am sure you will find it to be a nice upgrade from glass!
I currently own a Voxelab Aquila, and want a enclosed one to replace it with. The AMS system is what got me interested in this printer, but the display looks rather cheap. Why not use a touch screen like for example the Creality K1(C). I know there is an aftermarket one for it, but that adds to the cost of this already more expensive printer. But then again as i said, the AMS make changing filament a breeze. I would want it for that alone :)
beware of the bambu lab company commercial and support policy : buy those because they are the best for bucks, but wait commercial periods (black fridays, Xmas...) to buy them : they don't refund anything if the price goes down more than 14 days after the purchase... regarding the support, they have a strict and unfair policy and will do nothing if you are not able to give proof (incuding video of unboxing, repair that you make (even with their parts) they will refuse to refund you too.
Hi there, you are correct that using something like tweezers to remove the cable is generally much better than pulling on the cable. However the cables that they use in the ams are nice and thick and as long as you are gentle there is no issue with pulling on the cables directly. Just do not do it too many times ;)

Not gonna lie didn’t know this. Can confirm instructions say remove bags.
@@KJ333Wthey 100% don’t say anything about putting it back in. I just learned this too, luckily I unboxed my new printer yesterday
@@brummersethIt says take the desicant out of the plastic bag. Seamed obvious to me to put them back in. Otherwise why are they even there?

Excellent tutorial for setting up from scratch - something that most reviewers just gloss over as "not sexy/interesting". Well done!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the review!
Just found this video which is much simpler (and therefore easier for me to follow) than any others. Thanks very much
20:11 the bit that all the Bamboo boys never talk about!
Question with the waste (filament poop) be the same amount for printing one bird as it would if you printed 6 at the same time?

Do you turn off the switch on the back when done or just let it go into sleep mode?
Thanks for the explanation of all exspecialy the blockage of the filament. Keep going on.👍👍

Something like that shouldn't make much difference at all. If I understand you correctly there would just be one color change.

Can you put in the description the STL of this "spinner" test?
Thx for the video btw
Spaceballs reference is awesome. They've gone to plaid lol
So you never showed how to actually load the material in the AMS?
You just put the material in the AMS and slide the filament into the hole for loading. It will do the rest from there!
hi how much do you charge for 3d printing for your business?? thanks have a good day
Hi There! Please see our website at 3DPrintingCanada.com and click on 3D Printing Services.
Grea video. Thank you for it.
you can reduce the poop by setting the software up to use as INFILL
You skippped over the whole loading the filament into the ams section and defining the colors for printing.
