- This is something that is drastically different than the content you have previously seen on my channel. I have gotten into modding Sonic Adventure 2, my favorite video game of all time. I'm working on a stage based on Sonic Unleashed's Eggmanland. More information in the W.I.P. page.

This is the most terrifying idea and I'm all in for it
I literally haven’t taken the low route of Eggmanland Day section 1 in over a decade, I forgot what even looks like
It'd be neat that at certain points in the level you had to play with Tails or Knuckles to get Sonic out of a tight situation or just to get the feel that they're all raiding the base as a team
In fact, this level could replace the lot of levels in the desert. Eggman built the theme park over the pyramid and used it to build a rocket, and used the leftover materials to build the golem that acts as a boss for the zone
Idk about the replacing the desert part, but the rest sounds rad af! It could be like the final level in base sa2!
Pretty neat concept. Later I would add more background elements to mask how bare the skybox around the level is.

This is REALLY cool, boarding down that half pipe and gaining a ton of speed is gonna be really fun
I'm not sure about the bomb-throwing to destroy the cages though, SA2's pick up and throw mechanics aren't very fun or reliable. Maybe just have the robots tied to one of those missile switches, and once you beat them the missile rises up and you can step on the switch and THAT'S what destroys the cages

Non-automated moments like 01:28 -- where the player gets to decide how Sonic will jump off that segment to engage the enemies -- feel a lot more satisfying than those automated dark blue ramps SA2 utilized all over the place. SA2 is a great game, but the devs went overboard with semi-scripted events in many parts

I have a question though: why is it that in a lot of modded/ported stages, the camera tends to be at a flatter angle, almost looking at sonic at his shoe level? this is the biggest problem I have with 06, the camera being so low that everytime you jump you can no longer see the ground. There are some points in this stage that the camera is normal, but is there a way to make sure that doesn't happen? That almost never happens in the base game
This isn't meant as criticism, but all of the SA2 custom stages I've seen don't use the game's camera mechanics. Is that because the format/logic hasn't been understood yet, or is it just very hard to use well? If used, I feel like they would level up these stages.
Either way, its cool to see new SA2 levels.
According to some people I have talked to, SA2's camera system is not very well understood as of right now. If I could use the camera, I would.

Both gameplay styles complement their level design perfectly. One isn't objectively better than the other. Considering they're two completely different play-styles, I don't think it's a very fair comparison
