I hope you all enjoy the little bit of extra ambience that I have been showing in some of my videos recently. The shots from around the area, that aren’t necessarily related to aviation. Flying and aviation allows us to travel, and I like to kind of showcase the cities and the areas that I go to when I get the chance. I don’t always have the opportunity, or the monetary funds needed to spend extra time at every destination. But when I do, I try to give you an idea of what that area is like. I was able to do that on this trip, so you get a bit of a glimpse into the Juneau and Anchorage areas.
It’s actually amazing man keep doing it! I’ll literally never get tired of great scenery and beautiful views. 😅
I mean, it would basically be a crime to be in Juneau and not take some B-roll of the beautiful scenery!! Love the vids brother!
Well, it really is good. It just gives the rest of us who cannot travel right now, the glimpse of other places that we could otherwise visit. Very nice!
Love it, lived in Anchorage when I was younger. Also lived outside Valdez in the late 70’s. Dad worked at the terminal in Valdez.

I wish I could do that for every single flight, but most of the time I either don't have time to exit the airports and really explore cities/area, or the extra $$$$ to spend to exit the airports, get around, and really showcase an area haha. So, when I do get the chance to do so, I really enjoy adding clips like you see here. What else does aviation allow us to do by travel easily and experience new places? I like to showcase those places when I get the chance!

around 10:30 you hear the second engine start while they are taxiing, so they were doing a one engine taxi. Pretty cool to see, I love the channel keep up the posts!

You know, I actually remember telling my wife that same thing haha. This was one of the rare trips where she and my daughter were actually with me, and I remember telling her that he looked like George RR Martin haha.

Great fly! I remember you flew RED WAY and then they were shut down after being only active for two months on August 31, 2023. What exactly went wrong? Now Amazon Air is the only active US-based virtual airline (cargo only).
So Red Way was interesting. "Red Ray" was effectively a virtual airline. And what that means is that Red Way didn't own or operate any of their aircraft or flights. They were simply the company controlling everything. They partnered with Global Crossing Airlines or Global X, to operate all of their flights. So, the actual airline that was operating Red Way flights is still around and healthy as ever. They just don't fly any flights for Red Way anymore. And what went wrong? Red Way vastly overestimated the demand out of Lincoln, Nebraska. And then they didn't charge anywhere near enough for the tickets they did sell. Simply put, they ran out of money in a few weeks... Then they couldn't pay Global X for the flights anymore, and obviously Global X wasn't going to continue operating flights they weren't getting paid for.

There's a problem with super long flights. And it's not that I don't have the equipment, battery power, or storage to do it. it's that RUclips won't allow me to upload videos that long. Years ago now, RUclips introduced upload limits. And those limits are 12 hours or 250GB. Both of which I'd go significantly over to film a 19 hour flight. So, as much as I'd love to do those super long flights, it doesn't make sense for me to film flights I can't even upload.
Great video! Is the 737-790 the smallest aircraft of the 737 series?
No actually. The "Next Generation" series of 737's, or 737 NG's, had five different variants. They were the 737-600, 737-700, 737-800, 737-900, and the 737-900/ER. The 600 variant is actually even shorter and more stubby than the 700 variant. It is closest to the 737-500 if we are looking at a comparable classic 737. The 737-300 would be the closest classic variant to the 737-700, and then the 737-400 and the 737-800 are comparable. The 737-600 wasn't very popular though. For similar reasons as to why the Airbus A318 was never very popular. Neither the 737-600 or A318 were any cheaper to operate than the 700, so why not get those extra seats.

Hi Skylite! What is the reason the pilot spools down the engine power after takeoff? Is it just to preserve fuel? I know this is very common practice. Thanks!
So, what is generally happening when you hear the obvious change in engine pitch after takeoff is the flight is transitioning from takeoff/departure to the climb phase of flight. During takeoff, the engines aren't always maxed out, but they generally have more power applied than they need. This is to ensure the flight lifts off properly and a positive rate of climb is achieved. If you ever watch a video from inside the cockpit you'll hear one of the pilots call out V1, V2, rotate, positive rate, gear up. This is all part of the takeoff phase of flight. V1 is the point of no return. Takeoff must happen at that point, the aircraft if traveling too fast to safely abort the takeoff. V2 is the calculated "safe takeoff speed." Rotate is called out when the aircraft leaves the pavement and is now in the air. Positive rate is called out to inform the operating pilot that the aircraft is climbing as intended, and of course, gear up means the landing gear have been retracted, eliminating drag. At this point, the aircraft moves from the takeoff phase to the climb phase of flight. This is often when the autopilot and auto throttle start to be engaged. Once the aircraft is climbing and the auto throttle is engaged, this is where you usually hear the large change in engine pitch. The computer is now doing the work and it can pretty much instantly determine what thrust level is needed to maintain whatever speed ATC has assigned at that point. So, ATC will say something like Alaska 111 climb and maintain 12 thousand, maintain 250 knots, contact departure, or contact center, good day. As soon as the pilots have that info they'll plug that in and the auto throttle does the rest of the work, allowing them to focus on other tasks.
