    Thanks, Bryan! I'd like to see a ful bed print and not just a small area in the middle. My experience with any kind of flex bed is the magnetic grip is weaker than the print to bed bond. Over the weekend I printed some server risers in ABS and when the print flexed, it literally pulled the sides of the flex plate off the magnetic sheet. Does this flex plate suffer the same fate? I half expected a "redrum" when you examined your air quotes, LOL.

      If that's a file you could share with me, I could use it as a test print. I was mostly going for something simple that would have to hang on tight while growing sideways, but if you've got a good torture test for ABS adhesion I'll give it a shot.

    Experienced Printer here. I've been having trouble with a very specific and intricate model reliably adhering to any of my current plates. I sell the prints in question and failures really effect the bottom line. Heavy brims have been the answer thus far, but really eat into post processing time. If this plate can solve my problem without brims, it's worth it to me. Thanks for the introduction and review. I'll give it a try. I enjoy your channel.

    Great to see a friendly 3D printing youtuber. Unlike that mean guy, Joel. (I am totally joking. Joel is a sweetheart.)
    I hadn't heard of STTPU before and I started printing using service bureaus before you could get anything for home use, and got my first home printer almost 15 years ago. So much wood on that thing. LOL
    It sounds perfect for a use I have in mind, so I will definitely be trying it out.
    Thanks for the info about the flex plate as well. I've been wanting to get a back up plate as the one from another brand is pretty close to warn out.

    Print a file in ABS that is large across more of the whole bed and then let us know if it completely sticks to the surface.

    I love the @-@ lol, where can I find that?

  • @photonashville
    @photonashville 2 месяца назад

    Well, it was good while it lasted. Sliceworx plates are great with PLA, but ABS-GF is highly questionable. Brim and prime lines are stuck to the plate. Since we can't use any cleanser or solvents, it makes it impossible to get the plate back to normal. Bambu Lab textured plates have been bulletproof for me for more than a year. (Sliceworx is sending me a one-time replacement.)

  • @sv61786
    @sv61786 Месяц назад

    Assuming it works with all kinds of PLA? Plus, silk, matte, and polyterra are the main ones I use.

    I'm going through support right now because I print something with Bambu Labs branded ABS and the print was STUCK on there. I mean, nonremovable stuck. Will update you whenever I hear back from support. I've already sent them pictures, and they're working with me, but it's the weekend.

    • @cdrpyro
      @cdrpyro Месяц назад

      Did you get an update? Abs is practically fused to this plate when I print. It's nice that it doesn't warp but I can barely get the damn things off.

    • @cswagg
      @cswagg Месяц назад

      @@cdrpyro just got a refund a few days ago. No other update. I really want to ask them why they refunded me if there is no issue... which seems to not be on their radar nor concern. The only way I could get it off if I were to have tried was to take a razor blade to it. Scrape off the metal coating, and ruin the plate.

    • @BV3D
      @BV3D  Месяц назад

      @@bubbanc I have regular PETG, some PETG HF (Bambu's new one) and some Bambu PET-CF (not PETG-CF). Pick your poison.
      As for the model, will adding a cylinder to the plate in Bambu Studio and scaling it to 50mm diameter at 10mm tall, slicing in spiral vase mode, no bottom layers, and an inner brim do it for you? It sounds like the footprint you're asking for is just the circumference of a circle. An inner brim doesn't do anything unless I set the bottom layers of a one-wall cylinder to 0.

      The "Don't use IPA" applies to this specific flex plate. I use IPA on my other textured PEI plates all the time. Water only (or soap & water only) on this one.

      @@BV3D Thanks so much for the quick answer. Maybe you could do a video on cleaning bed plates, do's and don'ts. So many recent arguments in face book groups over this. Some say IPA damages the plate over time, some say just soap and water. I use IPA after each print and will soap after so often. Thank you for your help. Love the videos.

    Has anyone found a print bed for Bambu that is like the matte frosted spring steel ones you can buy or they come stock with the 5S1 now I believe? I'm looking for a matte frosted finish vs. the deep bumps and shiny or just smooth I see everywhere. Might grab one of these for my A1, not having that encloser like my P1S makes a big difference in my case.
