- RUSH!!!!!!! LET'S GOOOOO
Thank you to Patron Alex for requesting this tune. Got to try to emulate some of the purest rock and roll out there in Getty's playing. Loved every second of it. The main riff will challenge your technique but feels great to play once you get it under your fingers. And the guitar solo has some fantastic bass work underneath it too. Awesome melodic lines.
Decided to break out the Aguilar Agro to punch up the rock an extra degree here too - definitely not exactly Getty's sound, but in the ballpark at least!
Enjoy all!

Great job B. I was the bass and keyboard player for a Rush Tribute called 'Blame Canada', in DC and then later in and around San Antonio Texas for about 10 years. I appreciate the effort you've gone through to produce these videos, so thank you for that. I enjoy seeing how others work out the fingering on different Rush tunes. The Analog Kid is one of the tougher ones to play and I had to work through different people's tabs to figure out what worked for me. But again, thanks for your effort. All the best!
I love the band name 😂
Yeah... we had a lot of fun with it. Instead of the star on the logo we used a maple leaf. If you look closely at my image you'll see I'm wearing Jodhpurs and a mounty hat. When we played I either wore that or a lumberjack gitup. @@feral7094
Awesome! I can feel the maple syrup and beer flowing through my veins as I type.
Don't forget the Polar Bears and Timbits we got up here! 😉
Great job! What a stunning bassline. And to think he sings AND plays it! Mind blowing.
I was thinking the same thing. Ya, now cover the vocals at the same time 😂
One of the sickest bass tracks ever, even the major notes were heavy
WOW mate, you played that bass line to perfection. It's the best version I've seen so far. Rush are my favorite band. Congratulations for learning one of the most complicated bass lines ever.
Great man!!
One of my favorite Geddy bass lines.
Energy PLUS!!! So Good. So Needed! Thank you!
Nicely executed. Both the tabs and notation are extremely helpful. Thankyou.
Thank you so much for this!!! Well worth the wait as I've struggled to nail this for years. Time to get learning
Really well done. I appreciate the work you put into that.
Anyone that gives this man a thumbs down comment and prove you can do better and make a video! Trolls! Why all the hate?? Stop being jealous and show what you got. Freddy doesn’t play a typical top 40 chug along Bassline and playing his stuff amid the constant time signature changes and intricate fills, hammer ons and pull offs it’s really a challenge even to long time bass players. Any bass player that can hit all or very close to all the notes, has my deepest respect.
This is an incredible and PERFECTLY accurate and well played cover of a really hard to play song!!!! Awesome!!!
Nice job, bro! One of many favorites I enjoy playing to. It's a workout, for sure.
Nice playing. Thanks for the tabs just helped me with the main riff...
Killer. Thanks for posting. Now I need to start practicing...
Great job Benny i think i've seen Geddy playing the riff part in the middle of the neck resolving D note on the E string

Hi, I would love it if you would cover Havona by Weather report
One of the hardest rock bass lines ever, I've been trying to play this since I was 17 and I still can't get the main lick quite right lol

Is there a pdf available?
Great now do digital man
Who are all the people whose names are scrolling on the screen?
Why arent you playing a Jazz Bass?
Geddy likely didn't use a jazz bass for this recording. He mostly used a Steinberger during the time this album was recorded. If it wasn't his Steinberger, it was probably either his Wal Mk1 or his Rickenbacker.
"Signals" was nearly all Fender Jazz, with the Rickenbacker on "Countdown". The Steinberger didn't come out until around "Grace Under Pressure" in 1984 @@xanderdaniels8284
