Sherrone Moore reflects on Michigan Wolverines 27-24 win over USC Trojans to open Big Ten play
Michigan Wolverines head coach Sherrone Moore reflected on the 27-24 win over the USC Trojans to open Big Ten play in a press conference on Monday afternoon! “We feel confident. You can script how you want it go but it’s football so we just have to attack and be in the moment.” Moore went on to mention to me that Michigan defensive coordinator Wink Martindale predicted star cornerback Will Johnson’s game-changing pick six against USC just moments before it happened: “It’s crazy because right before that drive started, Wink said ‘if they keep testing him over there then he’s going to bait them and pick one’ and then all of a sudden he’s gone. Wink predicted it.” Johnson has displayed a knack for creating clutch plays just when the Wolverines’ defense desperately needs him to and he came through again en route to taking down USC. Moore explained why Johnson is able to make such big plays in crunch time. “He's a tremendous worker and person. Very humble and does it all the right way. He studies the game and is always in here watching film. Always doing things to get a competitive advantage. The just kid loves it.”
