Josh brother how is usc more a contender than michigan? I get it without a pass we won't do a thing. However jack Tuttle comes back he actually can throw the ball and experienced quarter back who we don't need to throw a crap ton of passes and with the run game reestablished nobody stopped it last year and they won't stop it again if we have Tuttle who also can run can throw the right passes to keep the flow going and we pound the ball down the field. Our defense is very good and is improving especially in the secondary they're improving outside of Johnson. These dudes got run on and lost to us with 32 pass yards. What's that mean if they play in the championship game against osu??? Or maybe oregon??? More complete physical teams??? They're getting smacked. They have no chance besting those teams. They're soft. Michigan's lack of throws led to the game being close and that's literally it.
@@chrisboriqua8878 even though we won scheduling makes usc path way easier than ours. i believe they host penn state and notre dame, their 2 biggest games on their schedule. and we all know how james franklin is in big games. im a michigan fan but we got at least one more loss on our schedule but im cool with that. this team will fight til the end and is very green on offense.
@shawnlong4741 I agree that our path is way harder I mean hardest schedule of any championship contending team in the big ten. But as bad as Franklin is in big games, he ain't losing to usc. Them boys soft as hell. They only stopped the run and our offense cuz they literally loaded up the house. If we had drew Allar or Riley leaonard it's a fucking wrap for usc. Granted dame and state dont have our run scheme, o line and defense (notre dame I mean), usc isn't gonna have a good time with that Penn state defense. Abdul Carter and Co. If Tuttle comes back we can get to osu with 1 loss that being Oregon. But who knows we might be able to best them with our run game and defense if we can throw the ball. Honestly we beat Texas if we could score. If our run game played that way against Texas and Warren doesn't turn it over we can beat them. The score was 7-3 for the longest and the defense was just on the field for wayyy too long.
As a trojan, I want all those who disrespected Josh for picking Michigan to come out and apologize. I was scared about this game and had a right to be. It was a great game and I'm still happy that we finally have a defense now.
I am a USC fan, but I felt USC was not ready for a slug-out like this. However, I was proud of USC. Last year, they were winning but looked troubled. This year, they lost, but look like they are going in the right direction.
And Moss did NOT have a great game and he is NOT a STUD quarterback. He threw the ball 51 times and they didn't have 300 yards. FIFTYONE. Say that with me. He only completed 54% of his passes. That is HORRIBLE.
Are we going to ignore the fact that Lincoln Riley called the worst series possible on that last drive?
he lost to 37 yards passing.
Teams have lost to Air Force, Navy, and Army who all run the same offense as Michigan. 😂

Bro, I'm a Michigan fanatic, and anyone saying that Michigan dominated that game is on drugs! I was more nervous than a cat in Springfield until that last TD was punched in.
Thank you for being the one Michigan fan who's honest
they dominated for 2 quarters and the last 5 minutes of game
The d line dominated the Trojan O line, USC QB is a tough dude taking that beating just like Penix. Michigan not being able to pass is why the game was close and because #7 Makari Paige played the worst game of his career and nearly cost the game because of his poor tackling and missed assignments. Michigan miss led Keon Sabb and Rod Moore
@Sportsfanfromnowhere I'm telling you now if you actually had a passing attack, you would've lost that game. That plays to our strength. Enough of the hyperbole tho, Michigan won, it is what it is. You won't catch anyone else by surprise, and that 1 first down all second half until the last drive shows you were figured out. Enjoy the week, let's see if we come across eachother again post season.
They dominated the 1st half which gave them the lead until 7 mins left in the 4th Qrt but yes that last Qrt & a 1/2 was hard to watch.
The way Michigan can lean on the run game so heavily and still beat good teams is awesome.
Not sure USC is actually a good team.
@@MrBobbyz24oh here we go
Michigan Wins: They beat a bad team
Michigan Loses: Michigan is a bad team

Moore really needs to find a QB. This is a really good team with any sort of passing threat.
@@RyanDayisaBeardedLady Frankly, the most we can hope for this year is a 2021-esque season. Cade developed into a “good enough” ball thrower who was a game manager. If Orji can get good enough to make teams respect the pass threat and not load the box with 10 dudes, 9-3, 10-2 or 11-3 is on the table, I think.
michigan offense in 2nd half went PUNT - PUNT - PUNT - FUMBLE - PUNT. They had 80 yds offense entire 2nd half and 60 yards on single run play. Shame on USC for not adapting sooner but congrats to Michigan for finding a way to win. They have several weeks to get their offense working better
Now do USC offense in first half.... PUNT - PUNT - PUNT - PUNT - FG - END OF HALF. USC was not ready to play. USC only led for ~ 6 minutes of game time, while Michigan led for ~ 42 minutes of game time (the other 12 minutes at the beginning of the game was tied).
@@kenfortin9406 i guess you missed rest of my comment. Congrats to Michigan but shame on USC for not adjusting sooner
So much for all the other UM fans calling Pate a "Michigan hater". Thanks for the vote of confidence. GO BLUE!
There are very few Teams in the Country who can stop Michigan at Running the ball and the Trojans were a goal line stance away from beating the Wolverines in Ann Arbor. Proud of this team fighting on 🔥✌️✌️

There are very few (2-3) teams Michigan still has to play this year (plus one team that already succeeded) who can stop Michigan at running the ball.

I'm going to need a compilation of Josiah Stewart getting all up in Miller's space all game😅
Very entertaining 😂
I loved how he kept looking at the ref after getting up every time 😂 this ain’t the PAC12 big homie.
That would be like 50% of the defensive snaps lol
Josiah Stewart is an absolute unit. That entire d line is impressive. Now the secondary can’t cover at all.
If our secondary could just make a play on the ball and quit the blatant miscommunications this defense could be nasty. It’s so frustrating dominating a team, making them go 3 and our four straight times to start the game and one breakdown in the back end and USC can now start rolling. This team needs to learn how to be opportunistic. You’ve got the momentum, you’re dominating, don’t overthink it and do what it takes to get off the field
The secondary is slowly coming along and to hold a strong passing team like USC to 24 is damn impressive (yes, I realize the D line was a factor in that). I think Wink just needs to simplify things for the guys in the secondary and they will be similar to last year. Everywhere Wink has been the main complaint people have had is that his schemes are just too complex. Even some pro teams have said that lol.
@@jackpackage4278 I thought wink did better without so much blitzing. They don’t need to blitz with those 4 guys up front. I can see sending a lb now and then but not every down. 3rd down and long seems to be the problem for them so far.

Honestly USC does have a higher ceiling than Michigan this season. They have a much easier path to the Big ten title game than Michigan does. USC is much better than last year as well. That qb is legit.
USC’s biggest problem is the same as what it’s been since 2022, Riley. He’s kinda similar to Franklin at PSU where he makes enough bad calls during a close game that they end up losing.

From an SC fan. Michigan certainly double fist punched us in the mouth the first half. However, this SC team came out in the second half and not only took the lead after being down 14 to 3 and enduring a pick 6, but held that Michigan run game to 0 first downs until the game winning run by Michigan for a touchdown. Hats off to Michigan for a great game, but we are still in this thing!

USC just has a significantly easier schedule than Michigan this year. No OSU or Oregon. They only have to play Penn State. Notre Dame no longer a tier one win.
And no Texas, I still think USC is a top 3 Big ten team tho at worst
Penn State will play as you seen Michigan did, they are tough physically.
Michigan has 5 straight Home games, 8 home games in total. Now that's an easy schedule. 🙄
They also had barely any home games last year but THE GAME

In regards to any holding calls, every team holds on every play it’s just a matter of how egregious it is
The difference was the turn overs as usual in any game--mistakes. Michigan's two TOs led to 14 points for USC and kept them in the game and gave them the chance to win it. USC's one TO led to 6 points, not even 7, mistakes on both sides there but helped Michigan to regroup. Michigan wins it because they were able to move it one last time up and down the field with bad field position. USC couldn't do that and they couldn't tackle when it counted. Much improved but not totally. And it wasn't even November.

@@hotsince9181 Physically yes michigan did dominate usc. Not saying it was an easy win obviously but usc did get pushed around quite a bit in the trenches.
Nice - You're good 👍🙏 I think for USC, for the rest of the season, it'll just depend on what they want to believe - will they truly put forth an effort after a loss (like michigan has) - USC's QB was lights out... if he had time all day, that WOULD have played out completely different for them I think. ... There offense could be unstoppable - they just don't know it ...
USC was a 5 point favorite on the road. You talk about them like they were the underdog.
Dude on here trying to say we think michigan was dominating when we barely thought they was going to win lmao. This video should captioned " I'm upset michigan won and usc is my team"
Imagine if Michigan had a passing game. Would we think USC is better?
Ppl don't like the West Coast. So they'll kick the dog while were down. Thats fine. It was a hard fought loss against the reigning national champs on the road. I rather take this team who rather compete against these big boys than lay there and get ran over. Fight on ✌🏽
I am a die hard wolverine. Give credit to USC..first half we owned then second half they were dawgs. If they continue to get better on defense they will contend.
Yes, last years Michigan team beats both these teams by 30+. Last year that team is night and day from this team.
We figure out this whole forward pass thing we will be a scary team and in my opinion can repeat as BigTen champs.
Our lines need to continue to improve and our passing attack needs dramatic improvement for that to happen.
Bro we got 4 weeks to get ready.. Illinois is the test run.. they will play PSU and Oregon before we play Oregon… imo Loveland needs to sit till healthy.. Mullings is RB1 discussion over… but they need to implant a triple option with mullings and Edward’s… Orji.. if he stands you hand if he chases you pull.. then have Edward’s on the pitch.. secondly they need to do more screen plays as well as shallow crossers off PA.. Loveland on slants.. Orji can look down Loveland not there hit Moore or Morgan on the shallow crosser.. their job is to make 1 man miss get a first or manageable mullings will pick up… this defense isn’t as deep so they need rest.. first downs are critical… that’s why orji has to run if first two reads aren’t there just go be an athlete if Loveland or the shallow crosser isn’t there don’t force it not turnovers and we can hang with anyone imo
i like this take. it was tough to see my USC get bullied by Michigan’s physicality, but there was a lot to take away from this game. SC came out so flat and then they looked absolutely elite as they marched their way back. there was some strange play calling and questionable officiating in the final minutes that kept them out, but the ceiling still looks really high for this usc team. really good game michigan
You called it, but the officials were horrible and USC needs to get tougher. You can't be a championship team and lose to a team that passes for 32 yards. And they still need to stop the run.....
i didn't see the game. Booger Mcfarland made it sound like beating. From the highlights there was one specific run at the end was the big difference between the teams. Wish i saw the game.
I do realize Booger Mcfarland is a calmer Colin Cowerd
While last drive to win was incredible, it was Will Johnson's pick 6 that was the difference maker. USC outgained them by a fair margin, Michigan made more game changing plays.
Michigan also fumbled twice giving usc field position… Edward’s and Grant
If loveland gets healthy, inthink michigan figures out the passing gsme. Not to say they'll be great or even that good throwing the ball, or as good as last year, but enough to where people will be surprised by it.
Josh, love your insight. Your prediction and post-game analysis are right on the mark. FTFO!!! ✌️👍🤙
We had that game won, dominated the second half, the big house was quiet and lost at the play calling. Gave the game away with poor play calling and clock management.
I would have to disagree that it wasn't all Michigan. It actually was. USC was kept in it by Michigan fumbles and blown coverages. If you need the other team to wet the bed in order to have a chance, This is an indictment against you. USC had one good drive the entire game.....ONE!
47 rushes and ZERO holding calls??? Lol no wonder Michigan has only lost 1 game at home since 2020
The Ref's gave Michigan the game even though they had all the NFL 1st round talent.
wtf... start off yer show talking about how Michigan pummels USC and dedicate the rest of your show talking about how the perception will be that Michigan pummeled USC? Pate, yer literally talking out of both sides of your mouth in the same segment
Huh?
Ann Arbor loyalist here, and I can promise you nobody said that we dominated USC. That’s a made up talking point.
That being said, my Wolverines aren’t sniffin’ the playoff this year.
penn state will be a challenge for USC because they also have two talented backs and can somewhat pass the ball
This will be the biggest challenge going forward. I think this UM game is what USC needed and will strengthen the team in the long run. I can see USC going 10-2 or 11-1!
2 things
1. If Michigan has even a mediocre passing game going forward. Somewhere around 100 passing yards and no interceptions Michigan will be able to contend with every team on its schedule. Notice, I say contend, no beat, but they COULD..
2. If Michigan fixes its secondary coverages, leaving USC WR’s wide the heck open, the team could find themselves in the 12 team playoff
I am 100% Go Blue. I had 5 heart attacks during this game. 😅 it was back and forth all day.
The fumble-fumble helped....
Pate has been spot on. I’m a big USC fan and everything about our team is hype and no substance.
I was with you until the end. uSC showed they are absolutely NOT big 10 champ material. If you lose, even barely to Michigan, in their current state, but still get completely manhandled by their defense. You stand NO chance against OSU.
I hate Ohio with the intensity of a thousand suns, but they’re very very good, and very physical.
Go Blue.
We dominated the first half. USC dominated the second half. It was a pretty even matched game. Could’ve gone either way
I believe that with conference realignment most of the top teams will have a loss ,,,To go through the SEC and even the B10 undefeated was hard enough before and now adding Power House programs to both conferences it's going to be nearly impossible to Not Have a Loss and still win the conference,,,,
I'm a Miami fan so I'm glad Canes are in ACC where it seems more reasonable for a Good team to run the table but it's still hard enough even in ACC ,,,,
