    What is your favorite place to shoot??

    • @FotografiaDesportiva
      @FotografiaDesportiva Год назад

      Croke Park in Dublin, Republic of Ireland. To be fair, that's because I haven't yet been blessed to shoot at Estádio da Luz in Lisbon, Portugal - that would top it.
      PS - This video is so good, no fluff, straight to the point, insane amount of content condensed in a fast paced video, great editing, it's all here. Really enjoyed it!

    One of your best videos Paul. I appreciate all the work to jam soooo much content in such a short video. A blessing to see channels who don't have fluff in half of their videos, or asking for subs, or likes, or advertising, you name it. A rare thing I tell you! Keep up the amazing work.

    Really cool video and some great shots! I love the variety you got and that is a great reminder to move around. Curious, did you bring all of your gear with you everywhere you went or was your bag and equipment left in the photo well?

      I brought the three cameras, but am able to leave my computer and bags in the photo well when I walk around. Thanks for watching!

    How do you choose when to change position?

    • @Paul_Rutherford
      @Paul_Rutherford  Год назад +1

      It depends on the game. At the beginning of the game once I know I have a shot of the pitcher I want I'll switch between outs. I don't always move from the photo well later in the game. Normally only when its nice light and/or the game isn't too close.

    Who do you shoot for/who buys your images?

    • @Paul_Rutherford
      @Paul_Rutherford  11 месяцев назад

      I shoot for Getty Images and USA Today Sports Images/Imagn when it is professional games. But I shoot for individual schools at the college and high school level as well. Sometimes parents will reach out for coverage of their child. It can vary a lot.

    What’s a typical salary for this gig?
    Reason I ask, is bc I’m close to getting hired by the AAA Rainiers, with the aspirations of working for the mariners someday. Curious what the ballpark range is for compensation.

    • @Paul_Rutherford
      @Paul_Rutherford  20 дней назад

      I'm not sure the typical salary since I only shoot freelance. But I know Getty Images was hiring a photographer in the Philly area and the range was 65K -90K I believe. Depending on experience.

    is the photo well a free for all or are you assigned a spot prior to the start of the game, and is that the case with all pro sports?

    • @Paul_Rutherford
      @Paul_Rutherford  10 месяцев назад

      Great question. At Fenway they are assigned positions as is the case in most professional sports with limited seats. Really depends on the number of photogs and the positions available. But football and soccer typically don't have assigned seats or areas unless its a Super Bowl/Messi or something like that with a ton of media.

      @davidmeisenholder9843 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@Paul_Rutherford thanks for the response, follow up question. Are the positions assigned to a media outlet or an individual photographer. Sorry to ask so many questions, I am very interested in the process, just in case I make it one day!

    • @Paul_Rutherford
      @Paul_Rutherford  10 месяцев назад

      Happy to answer all the questions! @@davidmeisenholder9843 Happy to answer all the questions! Not many answers out there. They are generally assigned to the media outlet with preference given to the team photographers, local news, and wire services. Pretty much in the order from what I've seen.
