What a dope job lol. That’s awesome. Especially how all the players and umps respect him. I play baseball for 17 years and never realized how involved these guys actually are. I like the relationship they have with the ump.
I wish baseball (and other professional sports for that matter) highlighted the work of the crew more like this. It really shows the passion and how much work goes into MLB teams.
So cool to see this. I've always wondered what a Bat Boy did as well. Honestly, it's amazing to see Colin give away so many souvenirs to the kids. With one simple gesture like that, you could literally be changing their lives and possibly inspire one of them to become a professional baseball player down the line. Great stuff. Thank you for sharing!
I like how you take care of the fans because everyday except for the season ticket holders it's a new group of fans and the kids might never get a chance to interact with a ballplayer, but they will remember that they got a ball at the game.
This is awesome. Dude could easily be the director of gameday operations on the collegiate level just from watching how he multitasks. Love seeing people work hard and appreciate the position they're in.
Not being a baseball person I actually had no idea that there was a bat boy but This is so great, he really takes pride in his work and is humble and the guys and officials all treat him just like he’s one of them , great to see . Also how much stuff this guy has to remember , it’s crazy
In 1958 and 59 I was bat boy for the Washington senators. My duties were to keep lemons and oranges sliced and in the water bucket, that there were at least 4 ladles for the players to drink from (pre OSHA) and keeping Beeman's gum on the end of the bench. I also took care of the catchers mask and wiped the caked tobacco spit off the leather guard (I think that's why I developed a dislike for tobacco) . I did get to have one of the best seats for the games! And then they went to be the Twins.
These videos are awesome! I've been to ton of games during the 2022 season, and He was a class act every time. On more than 1 time he came over and made sure my daughter got a used game ball! If you see this just know we appreciate everything you do and look forward to seeing you during the 2023 season! Keep up the great work Col!
I did this for 4 years with the New Orleans Zephyrs former Triple A affiliate of the Astros and Nats during that time. I loved it. My last game was two days before Hurricane Katrina made landfall
I enjoyed your video. In college I was a manager for the football team. I might not have been a player, but I was treated as part of the team. Traveling with the team, being in the locker room, being on the field and just talking with the players because they are friends. It is fun being that close to the players and you have each other's backs. Great video. Brings back memories.
As a NY Yankee fan and a New Yorker i cant stress enough how much my wife and i love the city of Boston and Loved Fenway , i got to be on the field and touch the Green Monster and to see the Fenway from the players point of view was just so cool...
This just got recommended to me and I am loving it. I know this season the league is auditing bat boys and girls, to make sure they're quick and keep up with the pace of play. I know this guy won't have any problems securing his job!
Man I been a redsox fan since I was a kid I’m 35 now and had the pleasure of going to my first redsox game last weekend. I love the redsox and I love Boston I even caught a foul ball to take home. -Love from Texas
Thank you to whom ever put that together. It was nice seeing what goes on behind the scenes and in the dugout. What got me wasn't the interaction with the players or umpires. It was seeing the kids reaction when they received a baseball from you. Thank you and let's go SOX
Takes me back when I was a ball boy for the Salt lake Bees triple A team, used to loved the dinner and game itself definitely do not miss cleaning and scrubbing shoes after a rainy game.
Clubhouse and equipment staffs are the hardest working members of any team. The hours are ridiculous, but not as much as the responsibilities are. Bravo!
He is not a kid but a man who is part of a team/organization playing a kids game at the highest level. He seems to be a nice, humble person with a ton of responsibilities! These are the great stories of professional sports. The stories of the people who are not making millions of dollars but simply just getting it done!!
Lot of appreciation for this guy's hard work! Also, I'm convinced Devers is secretly fluent in English but he's just too shy to openly speak English to the press and everyone in public.
What a great guy who loves his job. They have a way more responsibilities than I thought! Nice to see the way the players and umpires appreciate him. Great video, thanks.
This dude does the most work and gets paid the least. Although, he does get to meet the players and here’s some pretty cool perks that I’m sure makes up for it. What a cool job to. Keep you young at heart.
Funny how much the job has changed from my time on the bench! keep going, lot of things still the same but different. Good to see, and bring back some memories! thanks for that
Absolutely fantastic! I started out being extremely envious, just imagining being surrounded with the Sox for my JOB. Working at Fenway! On the team, but not a player. I'm getting chills thinking about it. Then....it went on and on and on with all the crap he has to take care of, and I was immediately more realistic that I really don't want to work that damn hard. Looks like he does a hell of a job with it too. Good luck to him.
What a dope job lol. That’s awesome. Especially how all the players and umps respect him. I play baseball for 17 years and never realized how involved these guys actually are. I like the relationship they have with the ump.
This is just so wholesome, seeing how all the players and umpires treat him with so much respect just makes me happy🤞🏽
@gianna I love your videos 🤤😍
Hopefully that's how it is and not just for the cameras! 📷
they’re doing it for the video
Yeah on camera
@@sion2697 No, they are not. Not speaking for every player or coach, but bat boys are highly respected throughout the league
Love content like this. Good stuff. Respect to the kid for taking care of all the boys.
26 isnt a kid...... lol
@@FastDuDeJiunn imagine commenting on a post about Boston sports not knowing that everyone is “kid” 🙃🤡
@@raffyschaw2622 he a clown because 26 is considered a kid… um okay…
@@FastDuDeJiunn older than some of the players

I love how he acts like it’s normal to hug David Ortiz
This video is excellent I’m a Mets fan but this is what all teams need to show behind the scenes making everyone look human
I’m a life long Mets fan and I agree with you 100%
What a great hustler! Thanks for doing an awesome job to help everyone have their best game possible.

We sat behind Colin once or twice. Kid works his butt off. And is great people. 💪

Being a die hard Yankees fan this was a great video. How the players and the umpires respect his hard work. Great job.

Cool story. Kind of wish I had a similar job where I was constantly moving and not stuck at a desk creating TPS cover sheets.

Need more BTS content like this. Like clubhouse stuff, people just working at Fenway, more A Day In The Lifes. These are awesome!
Working at the beautiful Fenway must be a dream for everyone involved. Great video.
Unsung heroes, like roadies and crew of a rock band!!!
Awesome video Red Sox! Can we expect a video about the day in the life of a bat boy on the road anytime soon?
Kid deserves all the respect
Besides being a player this is hands down the 2nd best job on the team this guy makes kids just as happy as the players
This dude is a class act. Well done. Got a feeling he will be around the Sox for many years to come.

One of the best videos I’ve seen! Loved it! Great insight!
This is awesome !! Loved seeing this side of the game
Just wanted to be a bat boy my entire life. Glad I got to see behind the scenes!
Well that was alight!
I was there for that game against Baltimore. Almonte smashed a home run. Good game
Never knew the bat boy had such a relationship with the players, and visa versa...
Never realized the responsibility of a ball boy. Nice to see the respect shown to him and vice versa! It takes a village!
Man that is seriously the coolest job tho, super charismatic dude
Yankee fan but I have to say I really enjoyed watching your video!!! I guess it's baseball and we fans are still little kids when we get to the park!
Bat boy to exec....I'm rooting for you man. LGM

As a Red Sox fan I’d love this job, my grandpa was a bat boy for the cubs in the 30s
What a super cool dude! Seems to be the most important person in the diamond! Really enjoyed this 10 mins
that's a long day! I'm sure it's great when they're winning, not so great getting things thrown at you, but he's got a great attitude
This is amazing. Do more! Colin is quite the man on the team!
I smiled this whole vid. Hope Colin is still with the sox

Love this, coming from a minor league batboy this video makes it that much easier to explain what I do and the relationship I carry with the players
