Actually front overdrive pulls the suspension down when driving forward so it in fact does affect the cog a tiny bit in these tiny scales. As for side hilling yes it really affects it depending on how much overdrive you have. Overdrive makes the ass end slide out and down the slope way easier on side hills. It’s not to bad unless you go overboard with over/under driving the axles so worth it. There’s pros and cons to every upgrade or mod unfortunately.
It’s a Revell 78 gmc pickup model kit. There’s a few different versions. Mines the big game version but there’s a snow plow and I think a standard version. You can find them on eBay or I’ve see it in hobby town to. ✌️🙂
I just installed my ox motor it’s pretty sweet, seems a little slower then the stock motor though, have you noticed that? I don’t mind as long as it’s more reliable lol
You're comparisons are not equal The one truck is much heavier with overdrive gears just the weight of the truck could be a better benefit for crawling. You need two trucks that are identical and then change one thing which is the overdrive to make your test qualifiable
That does not matter because much Uncle Buck aka the camo teuck has crappy smaller tires, cms and has no wheel speed. The Betty is lighter with bigger tires more grip and quite a bit more wheelspeed so it equals the playing field a bit. Plus this was for fun not a scientific comparison. I have other videos that test the gears in the same rig. 👊🙂
great review of the treal overdrive gears. Nice video as usual TJ!!! Happy New Year brother!
Thanks man and hope you had a good New Year’s to. 👊🙂
I’ve been waiting for a review on these I’m gunna throw one in my micro comp rig!!!
Looked like it made a good difference. I haven't tried the "older" ones yet either.
Great video on comparison 🙂👍
So you can overdrive the rear? Heck yeah
Yes you can use the overdrive gears in the front or rear axle.
@@TJthercGuy or both ;)
Overdrive has nothing to do with center of gravity for side hilling

Yeah it’s a tad slower but definitely worth it for the extra torque. 👊🙂
