I can confirm that the crowd is in stunned shock. I just saw them Saturday night for the first time, after being a fan for more than 10 years. I was truly entranced. Never experienced that feeling at a concert. The lighting guy should be a listed band member. The stimulation from the synchronized lights and music was truly incredible. I may have been under the influence of the devils lettuce, however my sober brother experienced the same sense of euphoria, he thought he was high too 🤣 See them when you can, don’t come around often. It will change your life
Sleep is the same way, they are just relentless live.
was that in riverside? they really do put on an unforgettable show
@@c.o.6414 yep! The design of that auditorium really makes for great sound quality too. Truly unforgettable show. On my mind ever since lol
@@zacharyjones4232 agreed, I had never been to the riverside auditorium before and the sound was great. that was an awesome experience
yeah, saw them in NYC in September... I am still thinking about what happened every day ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ... people literally were walking out and looking at each other like "what was that?"
And this song is from 20 years ago. Their album "Nothing" was so far ahead of its time.
As well as destroy erase improve. I still cant believe its as omd as me 😳 and it doesn’t sound old at all…
@@mjk9833 By far my favorite
@@lydia5649 track no. 9 and 10 contain the most brutal riffs imo 😀❤️
@@mjk9833 TY Maynard 😉🤘
I haven't heard Meshuggah as "heavy" in several years now, but as a trance-inducing, hypnothic groove pulse. Love 'em.
Spot on bro. It's so hypnotizing I just get lost in their rhythms. They play so damn downtuned it just becomes the normal after a while but they are definitely one of the heaviest bands ever lol.
And a bit off-topic but Per Nilsson did such a good job filling in for Thordendal on these live shows.
They are not just heavy, but colossal!
Dancers of A Discordant System, pretty pretty please! Seriously it's a song you have to hear, it's one of the most common fav favorites for a reason. If you want some older Meshuggah I'd also recommend Future Breed Machine. After you've heard the original studio version of FBM you NEED to check out some of the live videos of the song coming from this most recent tour this year. They slow it down so it's twice as heavy, and the light show is insane.
Dancers is one of their best songs!!
++++++
Been saying they need to check it out for ages. Wont happen i think😂
Fuck yes
Im gonna put in a vote for I am colossus as well ;)
You guys need to react to Meshuggah’s song “I.” It’s twenty-one minutes long, and probably the heaviest metal composition ever put together.
That slaps 🔥🤘
Their greatest masterpiece for sure. It is some mind-blowing stuff!
I totally agree with your statement! A very strong contender for the heaviest composition in the known universe.
It's like 21 minute of nonstop awesomeness
"I" and Catch Thirty Three are unrelenting awesomeness and heaviness from start to finish! But "I" is way more approachable. Few have ever survived a full listen to catch 33 😂
I finally got to see them play live a couple weeks ago....and it was incredible. I was right on the outskirts of the pit up front and it was just amazing. HIGHLY recommend seeing them, best band ever
This and New Millennium Cyanide Christ are the songs I normally use to introduce people to Meshuggah.
It took me listening to Ophidian Trek version of New Millennium to understand how fantastic that track is.
Best band in the world.🤘
Listen to "Violent Sleep Of Reason". The grooves are absolutely crushing!
This! Even better if they do the 2016 live version with the crazy lasers n shit
Meshuggah are the greatest, but if you want to see their style dialed up another level, check out Vildhjarta. They've been around a while and are another Swedish band. Dagger is a pretty cool track of theirs.
I think there's different kinds of heavy, and Meshuggah is a "hold you down and paralyze you" kind of heavy.
It's hard to really get into this band just because of their style. A lot of songs can sound similar to me, when I like the variety of bands like Opeth, Periphery, and Tesseract. But I have to say, when I'm pissed off and I don't want to dwell on the thoughts in my head, I can put on Meshuggah and just let the music distract me without trying to find some way to ignore what I'm feeling.
Solid! Meshuggah is INTENSE!….and an acquired taste.😃
the lightshow these guys have is brutal as well. the light guy matches the bends perfectly by bringing the lights up or down depending on the bend
Imagine how fun it would be to be finger drumming the light buttons to this!
One of my Favorites. Trying to learn this on the drums is brutal. I'll keep trying. you guys keep trucking on Meshuggah though. They are just amazing.
This was the first Meshuggah song I ever heard back when Nothing came out
DO LETHARGICA NEXT, that song is fucking nasty, the breakdown is heavy as fuck
THIS!! When I saw them play it live they slowed it down like 10-20bpm. And for the little interlude before “the riff” they just let their guitars feedback. I’ve never experienced anything like it. I was front row and the feedback coming from both sides of the stage almost made me pass out. Tunnel vision and dizzy….then 🤯🤘
You guys should react to this whole show. Absolutely surreal.
Seeing them live was one of the best shows ever under Rammstein. When they played Rational Gaze and I could feel it in my chest, ahhh. Heaven. 🥰
I've seen meshuggah live a few times now and they just have this feeling that no other band has. They sound so evil live and demand your presence. I saw them in NYC last month and the crowd was the craziest crowd I've ever been in.
"It sounds like a glitch!" Haha, love that comment. Another reactor said something similar: "It sounds like you're listening to an optical illusion."
I saw them in 2018, can confirm, it is one of the most enthralling experiences I've had a live concert. That being said, can't wait to see them again!
the most tightest, professional, brutal, metal band ever
Your description at 4:30 of seeing Meshuggah live is 100% accurate.
There are NO words for experiencing them in concert. TOOL is a spiritual experience but Meshuggah transcends the 80th dimension. Their lights are absolutely blinding and criminally assaulting in person, and no video on the internet captures that feeling.
Check out their Future Breed Machine video from The Myth this year. That show was professionally recorded and will likely result in a DVD in the coming year or 2
Also…the silhouettes are a huge part of the experience. I was on rail last month at their show and caught a glimpse of Jen’s eyes a couple times and he is infinitely more TERRIFYING when not in silhouette mode. I thought Dez Fafarra (Devildriver/Coal Chamber) was the most terrifying frontman but Jens is on another level. It feels as though he is possessed by an outside force
I just saw them last month! This tour was sick; I was blown away by how tiny the venue was, and at the one I was at security was pretty freaking thin. I could have grabbed Jens' shoe if I wanted to!
Seen them live 3 times. They are fucking incredible
Perfect description of Meshuggah: music to scare a hungry T-Rex.
I just saw them live two days ago and they played this! The reaction was a bit different tho! when it dropped in the entire floor was rocking it was insane but awesome 🔥 amazing show overall. Awesome vibes I really had a blast
Future breed machine studio version is absolute mayhem
Yes they are 🤘 check out the live version of this track from their “Alive” dvd or Ophidian Trek. Gotta have Fredrik (lead guitarist and guy who wrote this track) playing it. No disrespect to Per.
Try
Vildhjarta
Its like a Meshuggah baby but Thall
I'm about to walk out the door to work a Meshuggah show tonight. Had to watch this to get pumped up for it.
The answer is yes...
Yes they are...
Hands down...
Just do the whole Ophidian Trek live reaction you won't be disappointed.
Just saw them play this live, there was not a single person who wasn't headbanging!
Please React to Lethargica , this song dude , is fire 🔥 .
Greetings from chile 🇨🇱
I see that they have Per Nilsson on guitar, he is a genius and I bet he is only one of few that can jump in playing Meshuggah live.
I LIKE JUICE
Just saw them live at Aftershock.
Hey guys…. Give us our Opeth fix
Meshuggah, from my hometown, seen them meny times, always epic performance 🤘🏻
I NEED TO EXPERIENCE THIS LIVE AT LEAST ONE TIME!.....
Nice shirt my man
Also! They're on a tour in the US right now, they may be playing close to you, I'd go 8 hours by car as I did in July this year to see them all over again.
The middle part that sounded glitchy was actually intentionally supposed to sound backwards.
This riff, man … war machine
When simple Rhythm meets Polyrhythm in a video.
Definitely groovy. I had the pleasure of seeing them for the first time a week ago in San Francisco. It was a fucking blast. If you have the chance to see em, go.
Their song behind the sun gets slept on more than I wish, I'd love to see a reaction on that one
I am colossus music video!
I dare you... I double-dog dare you to listen to their song 'Futile Bread Machine'!
Whispers: Follow the hi-hat and swing that neck.
That section that sounds like it’s glitching…all it is is the opening riff-rhythm but instead of the snare being on the common backbeat, it’s placed in between each bass hit couple. That’s it…just that little SUPER-WEIRD ONE OF A KIND rhythmic idea. Lol
She's listening to drums he's listening to the bends lol
Seen them live back in May and I can't put into words how heavy they are, it's ridiculous but in the best way possible lol
if thats the summer breeze video. that is one of the most insane metal concerts on youtube of all time. they were really going for perfection on this one
VILDHJARTA. They are Meshuggah in slo-mo mode. 🤘😬 THALL
Vildhjarta - När de du älskar kommer tilbaka från de döda (when those you love come back from the dead)(Music Video)
Vildhjarta - All These Feelings (Rehearsal Recording Video)
I saw ‘Shuggah live a few weeks ago. HEAVY. That’s the only word there is. So fn sick it’s ridiculous 🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘
Catchy 33 please
Why didn't they answer the question? Is Meshuggah the heaviest band of all time?
I’m sad I missed their tour. When they were in my state (MN) would’ve been a 1st for me
I’m 30 btw
Hehe funny juice song
The Faceless should be something for the future
Do Vildhjarta - dagger, or some of thier newer stuff like toxin
Women who like Meshuggah probably have great head game..
Any chance you haven’t gotten into Dillinger Escape Plan? If not, you need to
Yes
yes
What's the original video please? I don't think I've ever seen this one 👍
please do studio version of meshhuggah songs
I like juice, it's the truth
Dance music fam, lfg!
Nice Shirt Man.............
cant you react to MESHUGGAH - FUTURE BREED MACHINE
Yes, they are the heaviest metal band ever.
Listen to ”Future breed machine”, its the older meshuggah. They also released some album(s) before that, and under the bandname ”Psykisk testbild”.
Please react to Scar Symmetry - The Anomaly! (Not live tho) Also band from Sweden 🇸🇪
People did not understand this 20 years ago when it came out Aug 6 2002 and still have not come to understand them other than other than "getting my Fix of Meshuggah"!
I love your reactions I don't mind your random tangents! They're hilarious. You remind me of Chris Pratt in Parks and Recreation 🤣
You need to React to japanese band Dir en Grey, those guys are out of this world. Please check Vinuska, Mermalade Chainsaw, Decayed Crow, The Final, Rasetsukoku...their entire catalog is brutal, they started as J-Rock very Pop, turned new metal and they are now experimental, death, progresive, avantgarde. Best vocalist in metal genre ever
I’m very convinced that they are the fathers of djent
Yea! Haha
Hello again and greetings from the Netherlands. Well over 2 months ago, I recommended a band called Nightwish to you (in the comments of your 'Wintersun - Time' video). Any idea if and/or when you'll do a reaction? You don't want to miss this😉 Take care!
What about this light operator? 😃
That’s exactly what we talked about afterwards
NOSTRUM Drum playtrough.
You know what the funny thing is? Even though this woman is actually nodding to Meshuggah, I would still find it very funny, if someone created a Meshuggah meme, where her nodding was overlayed over a Meshuggah song.
Where do I find this recording of the song? Where did you find it?
Born in Dissonance....please.....
Link to original vid?
Can anyone count this?
The guitarsound is .......badonkadonk!!!
Link to the original clip?
Do Nostrum!
90% this guy 8% her. lucky fellow. i cannot get my sweetheart to dig the stuffs i enjoy myself. 2% human error. meshuggah wins tho.
please...please react to I..
It’s not 4/4 my friend
I'm going to take crap for this, but I'm ok with that. And I know I'm in the minority, but I've never been able to really get into them and I've tried hard. I admit they are talented, influential, and loved, but they don't do it for me. If I had to put my finger on it, I think it's a combination of the djent "droning," the over-synchopation, and the monotone scream vocals (most of all). There's so much repetition I find myself dozing off. There, I said it. 😀
A couple of tracks that might be more interesting, at least as far as lack of repetition, in death - is life / in death - is death. And “I” the EP that’s just a 21 minute track. If you don’t like them, there’s nothing wrong with that.
@@lukesabin691 Thanks, I'll give those a try. I'm constantly watching their vids and live footage, but haven't found "it" yet. Typically I'm captivated with the first song I hear if I really like a band, and that happened with bands like Opeth, Gojira, Mastodon, Tool, ...
yeah it's technical ,but there is no groove with meshuggah you can't bang your head because the rythm is complicated just for the sake of being complicated most of the time , it's not the type of metal where you have chills or emotion or melody ..this band is just to mechanical to me , and they haven't evolved much , every songs sounds the same to me .but i recognize that they are great musicians
that’s just not true bro lmao all of their songs have some type of groove, it’s just complex. it takes some focus to figure it out.
@@Retseadog exactly, this guy has probably only listened to two songs. Because meshuggah is basically all about creating a groove with technical rhythms.
The groove is the whole point of their music dude. Follow the 4/4 pulse of the hi-hat/china in most songs and you’ll find the groove.
heaviest of all time? That's a no from me dog.
FYI, Jens girlfriend is also a photographer. @ericasiren
