Meshuggah is relentless start to finish at their shows. Glad I got to see them twice and with Frederik Thordendal. The last time I saw them was in 2012. A band called Baroness was the second band and they were way more mellow laid back and a lot of people at the show were like wtf, which is exactly what Meshuggah wanted, so every one would be riled and ready to just go insane.
The last Tool concert I went to the opener was awful. It was one guy playing industrial metal with a light show that was just an extremely bright light. All I could do was stare at the store and wait for it to end.
I saw meshuggah live last year they were playing in their hometown in Sweden, they just entered the venue did like 1,5 h show and didn't say a word just played all the set and left absolutely awesome show just straight shugging!

Bro, you guys gotta check out their live 2019 open air Summer breeze germany show. The light show is another level and the sound is amazing. "The hurt that finds your first" right into "Rational Gaze" is an absolute must together. It's songs 3 &4 on that show. Seatbelt!!

I remember going to the bathroom and people were just bleeding into the sinks. Shit was bananas. The most insane pits I've ever been in and I've been to a lot of gnarly shows.
Suggestion for next Meshuggah: "Break those bones whose sinews gave it motion". An absolute monolith of a song. Don't know about any good live version though. Anyone?
