    I started playing this game with my boyfriend in campaign mode. He's Leon and I'm Claire. At one point I had opened a door as my last action because he was on the connecting tile with line of sight to the door. The zombie behind me reacted by moving in the same square as me, so my boyfriend's first action he took was to shot the zombie. I kid you not he said "Get down" when he shot and killed it in one roll. That made me so happy because I'm a huge resident evil fan and he knows I love making references to the games :)

    I love how the game is just as much about avoiding and running passed zombies, only killing them when you have to, just like the old ps1 game. That’s good design.

    9:18 reminds me of the iconic "Get down!" moment in the original RE2 and the remake, except it's Claire shooting the zombie instead of Leon lol

    I've played through the campaign with a full compliment of four and I have to say that after watching this and I'm planning the game myself the game was not designed with four players in mind.

    I believe enemies only attack the active player during out of sequence reactions. Pg 13. Making an attack will cause enemies to perform a MOVE action, unless they are already in the same square as a character, in which case they will stay where they are.

    Love the tutorial video. But I noticed you both made some errors in the game play. Like I thought when reading the rule, since the zombie moved in the same tile with with you or you attempt to move through the zombie, you're suppose to roll for evade. And also, with you attacking, aren't the zombies again suppose to react to the non reaction due to attacking? Not bad and I'm still learning the game. So far, I am loving the game and still learning the rules. And the items, weren't you only allowed to keep your weapons with the first aid spray when continuing the next scenario? Haha 😃

    The amount of tension cards should increase with the amount of players. I've already failed the first scenario!

      You don’t have to worry about the Tension Deck running out until Scenario 3A. Ink Ribbon Items are provided to “reset” the deck from a shared pool between players and can be used by spending an action at a typewriter

      its not too bad. like he said later in the main game the tetion deck running out will end the game. so, more players means more people drawing from it

      Bought the game recently n yea it does become bigger per scenario the layout of mapping changes but that means threats are more up or down plus some include the oversized boss zone though if u get the exspansions ur board size can dictate the extra threats likethis scenario pick nothing up spawns zombie brad

    The game is a lot of fun and I am happy that I bought it. That being said I was very disappointed in the quality of the cardboard components. The tiles, doors, and tokens are flimsy and warp easily. The printing is too dark(can barely make out details on tiles and a/b tokens). A prime example of good quality are the components from Mansions of Madness or Zombicide. I'm hoping that Steam Forge will up their game on their next project.

      meh , im just going to avoid them from now on .
      The game is fun but its exactly like you said except that i think there was a fault in the equipment since they clearly have tokens that arent too dark .
      plus when they arent even trying to clarify their own rules you know they dont give a shit...

    Damn, I was playing basically when the reaction and the zombies would come to my square they would have to attack me. It seems I have one more turn till they do 🤔 I though they just needed to be in range

    Real shame the artwork on the map tiles is so dark. It's really hard to see anything. Especially doors if they are open or not

    So question. I was reading the digital rule book since I havent gotten my copy yet and I saw something interesting that made me think about this video. The rulebook said to get rid of shotgun because there is no way to pick it up in 2a which I saw yall picked it up and still had it in 2a. My question is, is that referring getting rid of it if you didnt pick it up? I've noticed so far in yalls campaign that you still have it. I just want to make sure I get this right before I start mine when my copy comes in. Would kinda make it stupid to make it an item and tell you to pick it up just to discard it.

      We're playing with the optional campaign rules that allow certain items to be carried over between scenarios.

    The box says 1-4 players but every scenario only assumes there’s 2 players. How do I make this work / where would I place my 3rd and 4th character ? Would they stand on the same square next to 1&2?
    Please help if anyone has a solution - can’t seem to find one anywhere

      Yes. You can spread the players between these 2 squares. At least 1 player should be on each starting square.

    Can I push multiple enemies on my square when one of them make an attack? Or just the one who attacked me?

      Only the one that attacked. You evade roll for the number of enemies on your square. Whichever enemy has highest threat level attacks, and gets pushed back if the evade roll fails.

    Does anything in the rules specify the knife doesn't cause an out-of-sequence reaction? the rule book only mentions attacks cause it not "loud" attacks

      I guess you already solved this, since you commented 2 months ago.
      I think the rules say “attacking makes a lot of noise” (an affirmation for all attacks) that’s regardless of attacking with a knife, enemies should react equally. That said, I like to play with the knife as being a silent weapon and only enemies within range that were not hit make an out of sequence reaction

    Did he say at the end that he was carrying the green herb over to the next scenario? I thought you only carry weapons and first aid sprays and everything else had to be discarded. (Baring a few select items)

      Yup. Pg 23. You can use the herb between missions but if not it gets discarded.

      Yeah from what I read at the end of a scenario, you use the herbs and ammo or discard them. Copied this from the rulebook.
      "1. Return each character’s Handgun ammunition dial to full, and increase the ammunition dial for each other weapon without the Universal icon by 3. After this is resolved, each character may use any ammunition items in their inventory to further increase weapon ammunition dials by the printed amount.
      2. Each character may use recovery items in their inventory to heal by the printed amount. If a character is suffering from the Poison condition, flip their health track marker to the standard side.
      3. Without resolving their effects, discard any remaining Ink Ribbons, scenario items, ammunition items, and recovery items other than cans of First-Aid Spray.
      4. If the total number of First-Aid Spray cans in the characters’
      inventories is lower than the number of characters, the players may allocate one can of First-Aid Spray to a character of their choice."

    I have a question. if you are standing on a biohazard symbol and you draw a card that spawns enemies do you place them on your character or on another biohazard square

      the rules say that the zombies never spawn on the spawn point where a character stands... *except* if it's the only spawn point on the tile.

    Where is the rule located about moving past an enemy generates an attack?

      @Emiliano Abel Pedrero Gallegos It's the "Making an action on the same square as an enemy" rule. The action in this case is "Move". I didn't realize until watching this video as well.
      You can find in in the Rule Book, page 13. The Reaction Phase - Out of Sequence Reactions.

    I thought the out sequence attacks from the zombies in the same square were only for the character making the attack in the same square as the zombie, and not any other character, is this correct?

      the rule says, "Attacking an Enemy in the Same Square- If the attack is not successful, the character is automatically hit by the target's basic attack."

      I think you are right. Pg 13 is fairly clear that enemies on linked tiles make a *move* reaction to the gunshot unless they are already in the same space as a character in which case they do not move. The only reference to out of sequence attack reactions is when taking actions in the same space as an enemy. The quickref sheet is also explicit that it is a move reaction.

      My understanding is that out of sequence reactions are move only, not attack unless the enemy states it on it's card.

      nop, they can attack if you are making another action in the same square that isn't an attack, and if you fail the attack they automatically attack you without possibility of evade roll @@Tkthegreat14

      @@jelux09 I probably stated it wrong or didn't answer properly. But either way you're talking about making an action while on the same square as an enemy, I know that and that is an out of sequence reaction but not the one I was referring to. The out of sequence reaction I meant was when you shoot at an enemy, say it's near another player. You miss, it does an out of sequence reaction and moves into that players square. You shoot again and miss, are you telling me it attacks that other player? I'm pretty sure that it doesn't. Now after your action phase it goes into the normal reaction phase, then it will attempt to attack that other player. But yes, if a enemy is in the same square as the active player and you do any action that isn't an attack you have to do an evade roll. And for an attack, if you miss you get hit then can push it. I will bring this up to the Facebook page and try to get an answer from one of the devs.

    Little confused just got the game. Zombies only have only 1 health. Don't it mean if get one shot on blue dice that zombie dies correct don't it?

      Certain faces of the die determine a kill shot vs a shot that lands on the body

      Need the double hit symbol. Single hit symbol means they are pushed back only. It’s clarified on the handgun card.

    on the zombie card the zombies attack is "suicide lunge" and it says after it attacks it dies, this really confuses me

      Suicide lunge is a special attack, I think it will be triggered by a tension card. Their regular attack is only range 0, but they don’t die.

      Maybe the suicide dive lunge attack is reffering to the video game. Sometimes a zombie will lunge at your foot and bite it therefore causes leon to stomp on the zombie's head.

    OK, here's what's tripping me up, on the first move you move a square PAST the zombie, then roll for your evade. Shouldn't you stop on the square of the zombie, roll for the evade, and then move accordingly? Please answer this game is ridiculously complex

      If a character performs an action in the same square as an enemy, they must perform an evade roll. If they succeed, the action is carried out as normal. If they fail, the action is wasted. In this example, if a character moves into the same square as a zombie, and then performs another action, they need to make an evade roll before being placed in another square.
      It might be that Jamie or Gareth played this rule incorrectly in their first run through, or didn't make what their action was clear on camera. Thanks for pointing that out, we'll review the video.

    10:23 Echoes in the darkness... You read "If a character is still on the same tile, etc. - they draw three tension cards". Later on, at 11:08, you draw only one card because you left the tile, yet Leon is still there. I believe you should've drawn three cards because there is still a character on that tile.

      No. They card says: "next character to activate" it only refers to one player :)

      @@ursinbrasse Wrong, the op is right, the Card is placed on the same tile as the next Character. However resolves if "A Character" is on that tile draw 2 additional tension cards. It does not require the original character to be on the same tile.

      Everyone says that but the original zombies could soak up a lot of ammo. They have just kept that with headshots.

      Only real way to maintain difficulty. Technically (using zombie lore) you would have to hit the area of the brain that control locomotion and basic urges. Not just the brain. A normal human can have, for example, a spike through their brain an survive.

      I think last year. I just bought it and played the tutorial with my fiancee. We actually had a blast with the first level. Can't wait to play more. Only bad thing is that mr.X is only in an expansion.

    No one explains if you're picking up cards during each turn, how many dice you're rolling, if you're attacking or not. I hate this game guide, it makes zero sense.

    I must say as a fan, this game is really dull, the components are pretty low quality and constantly go all over the place, the minis are okay-ish but no where near good, they sell you 10 small box mini expansions that really add nothing to the game... The game is pretty dull IMHO, you don't feel any kind of urgency or the dread you would in game with similar mechanics (for example Nemesis), where fighting is something you should avoid unless you are equipped to do so...
