Love the painted minis mate. Makes watching a playthrough SO much more enjoyable. Great job!
Thanks a ton!
Horribly written rule book especially when it comes to the exploration deck. Thanks for deciphering this for us :-)
Aw hell yes! I was hoping you'd do a playthrough of this. I'm ready to reenter the world of survival horror.
I'm really glad I'm not the only one confused about this scenario I did it as I failed it but I think they could have been more clear about it and explained it a bit more
Always enjoy your playthroughs. And amazing paint jobs. I think I did find the answer regarding moving through a door to a newly explored tile. Page 20 (exploration)of the rulebook states "when a character moves through" so I believe you spend a move action then proceed to set up the new tile(s). Great video I will be watching the rest !! I own and enjoy all 3 RE boardgames. Keep up the great work.
Those painted minis are just 🤌 *chefs kiss* love your videos, mate. i actually had a much better understanding watching you play Resident Evil 3, the board game 👍
Thank you glad it helped!
Thank you for posting these! I love to watch them late in the evening to relax to
Glad you like them!
Great video! I just played the tutorial mission and got halfway through this mission with a buddy of mine today! Thanks for sharing and I look forward to watching more of your playthrough!
Can't wait to watch your campaign. Loved your other re playthroughs
I'm so glad you are back playing this !!
Sometimes I watch these with the closed caption on for even more comedy.
Such lucky rolls. I'm usually out of ammo by the first room :P
add the expansions to make it more like the actually videogame. Ps loved watching the other RE videos you done
Exciting playthrough! I really like how this one plays out.
Thank you for teaching me how exploration cards work!
Any time!
Thank you for another playthrough!Around the 25th minute. The zombie spawns to the closest biohazard symbol. But you put it on the biohazard symbol with Chris on it. I believe the symbol where you are yourself doesnt count as closest. Its the other one on the thile, unless there is no other one.
That is correct
Correct according to the rules, unless multiple zombies spawn and you fill up all biohazards linked, and if there are none, then one would spawn on the same tile (rulebook even calls it bad luck) Usually occurs if you run into a room with 1-2 symbols and shut the door and get hosed by the encounter cards, which is what happened in the video
Nice Fixed cameras
Ive got Resi 3, but i want this one. Only played 1 scenario personally due to the lengthy setup. I love your painted pieces mate, there's something really cool about the painted resi ones in particular.
Thank you!
Deffinitly needed clarifying before i started this rendition since the rules are more unique to re2 n re3 im actually for lsughs debating using ada wong or annete birkin in mansion with my fave handgun a trusty samurai edge
Great video man! I like to watch this despite having the RE1TBG myself just so I can revise my knowledge of the rules and mechanics rather than reading over and over again 😂👌🏻 Keep it up bro! P.s Would you mind telling me how you painted your bases of the miniatures please? It suits this board game really well, thanks in advance if you could! 😁
Thanks! For the bases it’s Basilicanum Grey, then Stormvermin Fur followed by a wash of Agrax Earthshade.
I actually have a step by step of painting a zombie available now to channel members also.
Oh yeah! I am really glad you are tackling this one. I am not getting a copy anytime soon, so I'll definitely be watching you go through each scenario. I did exactly that with the previous REs and I had a blast! 🎉
Quick question. At some point you walked over a corpse and didn't roll the encounter die. Is this a change in the rules? It was on the same square as another zombie (on the top part of the map, before unlocking the last part of the scenario.
Again, great work! 😊 Thanks!
I never thought about having to draw 3 cards because of the archway. The way I read it made it sound it doesn't activte until you hit that tile itself... I'll have to have another look through the book
It states in rulebook it is when you get onto the tile itself.
@@embz…againz Indeed, that was a bit of a mistake on his part
Oh man thats awesome i am still wating for mine tho 😭
Hi thanks for making these videos. Im trying to do a solo run myself but on west 2nd floor 2 and can't complete the mission without getting the c item. But can't find any rules in either the rules book or the scenario book regarding the c deck so ive saved progress and will resolve between games having met the other mission clear conditions.
Cool
Love the gameplay videos! Have received my copy last weekend, but haven't yet played it; been too busy with work.
Question about failing a scenario that the rulebook didn't make clear -- can you keep the card from the Item C deck even if you fail, or would you return it to the bottom of the deck?
You certainly wouldn’t put it on the bottom of the C deck since that’d screw up the tiered order it has between 1 star, 2 star, etc.
If it isn’t made clear I’d say house rule it to whatever you think is apt out of having to do the scenario again entirely or just counting it done since you got the important thing.
22:35 is there a reason you wouldn't put all 3 tokens on here to show that you can get up to 3 from it? Your missing one so I figure you'd put 2 on the card and 1 back in your inventory
Love these playthroughs , may I ask what the background music is? i really like it
I don’t recall the track name off hand but it’s from RUclips’s free music library. It might say in the box below the description.
@@FliksTabletopGaming thank you 😊 I ended up buying the re bg with the into the darkness expansh, your videos helped in understanding the rules heaps! Just wish I could get the directors cut to play as wesker! 😁
Thanks again please keep up the awesome videos!
I've got mine but discovering new areas has me really confused. Can't quite make it out
If you watch a few maps you should get a hang of it.
Love the videos! I have whats probably a stupid question, but it seems like I never see you using the knife. As I understand it can only be used on enemies in your square, but it seems to have the same odds and damage as the handgun: and unlimited uses
There wasn’t a question in there but is it why didn’t I use the knife?
@@FliksTabletopGaming yes! Sorry. I swear the hangun is so awful!
Ah no problem. The handgun is bad but the knife is worse. Missing with a single die roll equals damage so I’d rather trust an evade and it wastes inventory space too.
@FliksTabletopGaming I see. Darn, I was hoping the knife would be better. Thank you!
Is right
Curious which is better: Playing this game true solo, or playing it solo 2-handed with two characters?
Wanted to ask if the size of the minis is normal or smaller compared to usual size? Because I love painting too and thinking about purchasing this game.
If by normal size you mean in the 28-35mm range then yup.
@@FliksTabletopGaming I mean size like the minis of Heroquest or D&D. Not the size of Tiny Epic Dungeons.
1. So for everytime we shoot, a zombie reacts and moves closer?
2. If running by zombiesand try to end in a square adjacent to the zombie, we have to roll to evade?
1 any zombie on the tile or a linked tile reacts and moves closer (linked tiles are open doorways, always shut the door!) only exception is the zombie you attacked, and if you hit. If you miss it gets it reaction to move closer
2. anytime you run through a zombie square you have to roll evade. If you move through an adjacent square, you don't have to roll evade, however on the zombie's turn they will move into your space if you end in the space next to them.
Do the rules say you can waste an action? Was it the same for RE3? I thought you had to spend the points.
I believe, and I'll review my rules in just reading for the first time, you can. Watching the preview game from SFG they burned actions while waiting for everyone to get to the end scenario goal. IF I'm incorrect I'll repost here.
Where to get those doors?? Nevermind I see it's part of KS. I hate that I missed it😢
You might be able to get them directly from Steamforged or a set for one of the previous games that’d do the job.
Got mine on Etsy! Better quality imo
Have they added diagonal movement for this one? I thought you couldnt move that way?
You can move diagonally yes.
you can, as long as its not through a wall end, they intentionally have the wall artwork line stick out to show that you can't move diagonally through it
(see the square were the A loot is, you can't move diagonally from the door, requiring an extra move to get to the item.
@@lorweaver Thanks for the clarification! Does that mean enemies have always been able to move diagonally?
@@garfusa2 in this one they can move diagonally following the same rules as the players with walls and doors. Prevents players from “cornering” to prevent zombie avoidance
What edition is this ?
Don’t forget to check for the symbol on the bottom of the tensions. Even all clear could mean an annoying enemy ability is active
How did you get the figures in color?
I painted them.
what's everyone's favorite Resident evil board game 1, 2, or 3
I like 3 best.
@@FliksTabletopGamingeven compared to this most recent one ? I do prefer 3 too but I sadly missed the kickstarter of this one and haven’t played it yet.
@Bagration421 what makes 3 better than 1? I have 1 and 2 but not 3 yet although I haven't started playing either one yet.
Players mat is from Kickstarter?
I think that was a Kickstarter bonus yeah.
@@FliksTabletopGaming *add-on
I’ll have to read the book again, because I’ve been playing under the idea that they only move in the reaction phase unless a drawn card says otherwise, I didn’t know they moved in reaction to gunshots. Do they also move when using the knife?
They move if you shoot because the noise attracts them but the knife don’t make them move
@@Bagration421 actually the knife makes them react as well. Page 14 under "Performing an Attack"
@@TheSpiritedGamer yep my mistake I saw the rules the day after my comment and completely forget about it I should have made an edit.
@@Bagration421 Just started learning myself , so I figured I'd comment in case it helps the next new player.
@@TheSpiritedGamer and you did well.
I’ve started this one too, the game system is really good compared to RE3 I don’t know … I kinda prefer the encounter cards and the danger rising if you leave more bodies or zombies on the area, also the fact that zombies are more hard to get rid of kinda match the video game better.
Does this game require more table space than Res Evil 3?
Slightly less I guess but it’s close to the same.
@@FliksTabletopGaming i really appreciate you replying. For some reason I was thinking this would take up far my space which my table would not accommodate so that’s great news. Many thanks.
Thanks for this video. At the start of the sequence, you opened the door into the dining room. Doesn’t that cause an out of sequence reaction since the zombies are on a linked tile? In other words, shouldn’t you have moved the zombies ahead one square each right off the hop when you opened the door with your very first action? I’m just trying to get the rules down, specifically out of sequence stuff.
Herbs can be stacked in your inventory and then used together.
Missed an orange encounter token in the orange room...I just realized the maps match the encounter token colors.
