There may be no better line in any song than, "Did you exchange, a walk on part in a war, for a lead role in a cage"
So many of these reactors miss the meaning of that line war or jail that was the choise you had
Yep. That line, and "two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl year after year".
Jai busted out crying during Comfortably Numb, which is deep too, but WYWH is the one that's always cut me
The whole song is deep but "We're just two lost souls swimming in a fishbowl" is the one that speaks to me. This is my favorite Pink Floyd song.
Indeed...the deepest line in a song filled with them.
Whats the meaning behond that?
I can't think of a band today, that has half the talent these men had.
Tool would be my answer but everyone has their opinion in regards to music.
@@proera2247 I like tool , and no offense but tool started in 1991 , that was 30 years ago bud. I wouldn't exactly call them modern.
@@colecash4204 Tool just came out with new album, unlike said Floyd here, lol.. course they're modern.
There are a few... but not many.
Pink Floyd were geniuses but I could name six other classic genius bands and we would probably all come up with the same list! But I know what you mean.
My brother passed in 2014, and I can’t hear this without thinking about him. We were both huge Pink Floyd fans, and we listened to all of their albums hundreds of times. Wish he was here every single day.
Wish you well.
the guy on fire is a representation of the song have a cigar . its a music label shaking hands with a band and the band get burnt by the deal .
In fact the line, "By the way, which one is Pink" shows that the record label doesn't even know the band members.
Well, he's a Satan figure from hell. That's why he's on fire. But yes, a record executive. This was the album cover.
the guy on fire represents the band not the executive
@@rg2250e Hmm. I went to the expert - Wikipedia. They say the photo is two businessmen, one on fire. It doesn't say which one is getting burned. It's hard to think of Pink Floyd as being represented by a businessman, but none-the-less, I'd say your interpretation is closer than mine.
@@debjorgo i'm not 100% sure but i think its the Bands Agent/Manager wich is why he looks like a businessman .
My favorite PF song ❤
"We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl year after year Running over the same old ground
What have we found?
The same old fears
Wish you were here
Hey, Jennifer - how are you? I’m finally feeling better…yay!
@@lynnhoffman247 Yessssss!! I'm so grateful for that! I'm seeing the doctor on Monday. Still have one area bugging me otherwise I'm good to go. ❤
Along with Bob Dylan, Roger Waters is the most profound songwriter of the past 50 years...
My daughter has a tattoo of 2 souls swimming in a fishbowl. I brought her up right. Good taste in music.
@@breaknbad 👍🏼 I just sent my best friend a set of 2 Murano glass fish - she lives in CA & I’m in SC. Told her she’d have to find a fishbowl for them 😂
My favorite Pink Floyd song. The song is about the original guitar player and band founder Sid Barrett. Sid had taken a lot of LSD and as a result had mental health issues and was no longer in the band. This was Floyd's homage to their good friend. Check out the song Shine On You Crazy Diamond on the same album. Love you guys.
LSD does not cause mental illness... in fact it's currently being used to help treat mental illness... Many serious conditions onset in ones twenties. Dual diagnosis and mood disorders often result in self medicating. In that regard substance abuse can exacerbate mental illness but not cause it. Just an FYI from a mental health provider.
@@moniqueleroux2198 this just isn’t true
@@moniqueleroux2198 thank you for the information. That is what I had read. It is very possible that he did already have issues and that the amount of LSD that he had taken only made them worse. He was an extremely talented individual who never reached his true potential.
@@moniqueleroux2198 Its being studied as an aid to some mental illness in microdosing but too many heroic doses have destroyed some people's mental well-being. Fact.
It's about people. In general it relates to everybody all to the. People that were precious to you and you miss so dearly that's why it's so touching can you not see the bigger picture ?
U roll one, you put your headphones on, sit down and you listen to a Pink Floyd album, heaven on earth.
Truth
Having lost my Dad back in 01, my eldest brother in '16. The song just hit different after that. Damn near gets me tearing up every time. Pink Floyd are some GOATS man. Thanks for this Fam.
My mom, dad and uncle Dan. I tear up every time but it speaks to me about and to them.
Lost my dad in '16, not been the same world since.
Wow sorry to hear of your losses. I believe they are still with you but just in a different way
Condolences to and your family.
One of my favorite bands of all time ❤️❤️these guys were on another level
This music will always be on another level. No matter what year it is. 💯🔥💯🔥💯
I agree with you 100%. I have most if not all of their concerts on DVD and most of their music on CDs.
I love how you looked at him when the lyric was 'we're just 2 lost souls swimming in a fish bowl' with that knowing smile :)
I smiled at that too ☺️
This is about a band mate sinking into the depths of mental illness and remembering how it used to be. Beautiful.
In concert they made that album cover come to life on a giant screen.
Trip. Lol 😊✌💙
Sid Barrett's story is quite sad. I love how PF choose to honor him.
Sid Barrett's story is quite sad. I love the way they decided to honor
this song is an anthem for everyone who lost someone to the grind of everyday life, career, family, or fame..
someone we loved but didnt have the strength to keep going..
R.I.P. to all you Crazy Diamonds..
Was just watching Jai after the comfortably numb reaction. Pink Floyd some deep shit.
#RIPDAD I play this for him every year, miss you Ole man! Thank you for teaching good music!
this song makes me think of my sisters friend whom passed after a purposeful overdose. R.I.P. Matt we miss you 🥲❣️
My best friend died of a heroine overdose about 20 years ago...we played this at his funeral.
When my father died (an "ex" heroine addict) I was asked 2 choose 3 songs 4 the funeral. I said imagine by John Lennon, wish u were here by pf and behind blue eyes by limp bizkit. They said yes 2 the first 2 but no 2 behind blue eyes because "it's too depressing". I literally said 2 the funeral director "too depressing? My dad's dead!" The Behind Blue Eye's song summed up his life, and his perspective of it, perfectly. He used to cry when it came on the radio cause it reminded him of all his past mistakes, but apparently this was "too depressing" to play at a funeral. Fuck those parasites, I payed them a small fortune that I couldn't afford 4 "legally" disposing of and returning my fathers remains to me in a plastic bag the size of a lunch box.
@@Jay-er2ik heroin,but yeah that sucks.
@@Whateva67 thanks... I guess.
@@Jay-er2ik Sorry for your loss. And yes i will punch people who say "no" to a song request from the family, at a funeral. Hope you are doing okay, Jay.
@@Jay-er2ik Sorry for your loss. I have yet to lose my father but I know it's going to be so hard. Funeral homes are the worst, my entire goal is to spend the least possible on myself. At one time I just wanted the cheapest creation but now I do want a burial, so a little bit more money. No viewing, cheap casket. They can have a party in my name if they want. I absolutely can not believe that they would tell you what you could play at the funeral...that's crazy.
Half, you are not annoying. Most of us enjoy your jokes and shenanigans.
This is a song about lost friends... and I still cry everytime I hear it, 30 years later...
its about Sid Barrett. He was a founding member of the band and had a bad acid trip. It triggered something weird and he never got back to normal. Schizophrenia. Dude was a freakin beast
Shine on you crazy Diamond is also about Syd as well…
@@andu1854 there's so many songs about Sid. The iconic lines Is there anybody in there? Nod if you can hear me. Is there anyone home? It just hits harder when you know what it's about
I had a good friend that went with me and another friend to Box Car Burtha. Hot Tuna Did the sound track. Two of use took 23 hits of acid. Cortez took 6 and never came back after coming down.
I've been waiting on this reaction! Thanks guys. One of my all times. Brings back the best and worst memories. This got played at my cousins funeral, which will forever be burned in my brain. 💚 you guys!
What Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin did between the late 60's through the late 70's is truly mind boggling
What they did can never be duplicated ever again.
Pure magic. Tom Petty once said music was the closest to real magic he ever found on earth.
Jai and Half- you guy are absolutely the best couple on youtube. Jai with here true honesty and open wounds ,She is one of the Bravest people I've ever seen. Half is a man's man, keeping shit real and handling business.
Much respect to you both.
Pink Floyd came up with their group name in recognition of two Black American southern blues musicians back in the 1960’s: PINK Anderson and FLOYD Council.
Thanks for reacting to Wish You We’re Here. It is one of my favorite Pink Floyd songs.
This song is for “SID” RIP! Amazing talent gone too soon to mental health. Greatest band ever to play on this planet!
"Syd" not Sid.
The wish you were here album is a tribute to the first lead singer Syd Barret. He went insain and left the band
The guy on fire was a representation of a insanity and what its like dealing with a friend who has it.
No, the photo is about making a deal with record execs & how the artist gets burned.
@@lynnhoffman247 Have a cigar.
@@Rick-or2kq I do believe I will…or some form of one 😉
@@lynnhoffman247 is right on this one (which is what Have a Cigar is about). It is like making a deal with the devil.
you know your pink floyd... was a tribute to syd
" two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl " looks at boyfriend *that's us boo*
😂😂🤣🤣😂🤭🤭😂
Their songs make you feel a different way everytime with songs like time, hey you, another brick in the wall, shine on you crazy diamond, and the great gig in the sky great band great music🔥🎶🔥
Me an my Son listened to Pink Floyd all the time.
He took his life last year. I can’t listen to this song anymore without tearing up.
I miss You Buddy.
It can easily become very depressing, actually. Ppl keep saying listen to the whole alum... even everyday?! It is mellow - I can hear that; I also hear depression.
A man not afraid to light up on camera...with his beautiful partner...listening to the best band ever....earned my subscription!!
My most favorite band. Their music is way ahead of their time. They were genius.
Pink Floyd again.... and on Friday...nice ! Let them take you, more fun that way 🤘😎❤️🎼 rock on and love music.
Love ya guys. Pink Floyd is definitely on Mt. Rushmore of rock bands. Keep up the good vibes. ✌
You guys are so cute you looked at each other and smiled when you saw we're just two lost souls swimming in a fishbowl year after year you look glance and smile at each other oh you guys love each other don't you
Good eye.
@@jamezkpal2361 😊
Comfortably Numb live at Pulse is a must !! :)
One of my favorite songs. I like and respect this channel bc u guys do a different variety of music. Where most people focus on 1 genre. And I'm like that personally i don't have a specific genre I like everything. Much respect. Keep it up
We had this played at my husbands' Uncles funeral..He loved this song!
I listen to this song at least once a day.
Pink Floyd will take you on a journey in another world. One of my favorites of theirs
This is by far my favorite Floyd song.
It has such incredible sentimental value to me. In more ways than i could ever explain in a comment section.
It brings me to tears everytime i hear it. Reminds me of my mother.
"Echoes part 1" live In Pompeii is a great song to check out next...
PINK FLOYD AND KANSAS THE TWO BANDS WITH THE GREATEST AND DEEPEST LYRICS ON THE EARTH.
Would like to see "Sunspot Baby"
We are like lost souls swimming in a fish bowl.
Man I love awesome lyrics that stay with you… so glad you are enjoying Pink Floyd..
Lost my oldest brother 12/2015,,,, He LOVED PINK FLOYD. Gave me the appreciation of this band at a early age... I hear this song and sometimes I find myself singing the lyrics as though I'm talking to him...
MISS YOU EVERYDAY STEVE....
This songs back story is so sad and heartbreaking. I feel a lot of people relate to Pink Floyd because they create such a wonderfully vivid story that we can all place ourselves in or our loved ones.
This has been my favorite Pink Floyd song for 30 years
pink floyd put you in the mood they want you in with every intro.
This and comfortably numb make me think of my mom. I miss her so much. I seen your reaction to comfortably numb and was going to suggest this glad you did
Outstanding choice.
The way I interpret it the man on fire is not sharing the pain he is feeling
its meant to mean the minute you shake hands with the man, your future goes up in flame. its a reference to the music industry
when you guys looked at each other and smiled was so wholesome
You two are lovely people and your feels for Pink Floyd are appreciated by us long term addicts!
I lost my mom and dad a month apart a few years ago. And this song always reminds me of them. And comfortably numb reminds me of my childhood with them and I was crying with you on that video. Thank you for these
She feels Floyd, that smile said it all❤
One of my favourite bands grew up listening to them and going to their concerts all the time. I’m turning 60 still still big fan, this song makes me cry lost my twin brother 2 years ago 🥲
Wish you were here 🙏🏻♥️ OH LOVE Y’ALL 💕❤️
On the front, there are two men in suits shaking hands, one of them on fire. Ronnie Rondell and Danny Rogers were the stunt men hired for the cover, and the high winds that day caused Rondell to lose his eyebrows and moustache. Considering it was the '70s, it was probably a pretty great moustache, too.
A good friend committed suicide and they played this at his funeral. It has such great meaning to me.
The song that got me through my father's death is High Hopes by Pink Floyd off the Division Bell album. I would be very interested in hearing your reaction to that song. Thanks for sharing!
Still loving you two beautiful peeps❤
I remember blasting this out as a teen 16- 17 yr old in my parents big shed where our band practiced. Pumped it through the big PA speakers...
Yesssss I remember seeing them in concert in 1986 in this life you have to be devoted to the process.stay safe love you guys
Me and my mates in the army used to get drunk and one of the boys would play this on his guitar, best sing alongs ever, song breaks me every time
Pink Floyd makes such beautiful music 😪
My all-time favorite song, thank you for reacting to it. "Did they get you to trade, your heroes for ghosts?"
The guy on fire represents Sydney Barrett, founding member of the band. It gets deep from here
This is song is from the Album. "Wish You Were Here" This song is about founder the member of Pink Floyd, Syd Barrett, as is the whole Album. The love and respect for Syd, shown by all the band members still lives on today.
You guys are right on the money....this shot was a stuntman at one of the movie lots. My dad was also a stuntman so this album was famous amongst that crowd. Keep doing more stuff from PF, these guys are an endless supply of great music!
One of my favorite Pink Floyd songs, off one of my favorite Pink Floyd albums (by the same name). Of course, I have a multitude of friends, and family members, like all the viewers, that I could send this one out to. Good vibes to anyone, that is missing someone, while they listen. That's the album cover. It is a man shaking hands with himself, on fire. Heaven and hell, if you will.
Just watched your Pink Floyd Comptley Numb and I want to hug you
the floyd always make you think with their songs
Pink Floyd the Wall has just about every one of my favorite songs. I listen to it every night.
Took me 10 years to be able to sit n listen to this track again after I lost my older brother . Always reminded me of us.
Love Pink Floyd... Thanks you guys for this Good Vibes song reaction!!
I used to play this song when my daughter took my grandkid who 8 love....I used to yell.."I wish you were here"..love that song.
I know you can't do an entire album especially Pink but the only way to get Pink Floyd is to listen to the album I suggest Dark Side of the Moon.
Every reactor fan on youtube suggests the reactors listen to it. Part of the problem with reactor channels getting less traffic these days is everyone reacting to the same things.
@@pleutron not why I watch I really enjoy someone truly listening and getting off on the same shit i did when I first heard it. It's like hearing/feeling it for the first time again. I suggested Dark Side because it was my first it's short and will totally hook you into trying more artist in full format. They are on a journey of discovery, I envy. They aren't just reactors they and some of their kind are explorers stepping out of their comfort zone learning that we all can have soul.
That hand shake with the fire is actually the cover of the "wish you were here" album.
This Band can do no wrong i love their music it will last forever. great review you both always put a smile on my face😊👍
That intro still does it for me. And I been listening to it my whole life
This song is why I started taking guitar lessons in 1977. It was also the first song I learned to play start to finish.
Since both my parents are gone this song always makes me think of them and I usually cry.
Although being one of Pink Floyd shortest songs, it still hits like a frieght train. I remember listening to all their music in my early teens, loving it, and feeling it - but as a man, and a combat vet who had experienced losing people to battle and to suicide, I now FEEL this song in a way that I don't know the band could have imagined when they wrote it.
Pink Floyd is amazing
My first introduction to psychedelic rock. Have loved them every since. It's just funny how you think this is amazing sitting on the floor passing a bong around then you hear it in the sober light of day and it means so much more.
This is the song that made me want to learn to play guitar, and the first full song I could play and sing at the same time. Has a lot of meaning for me.
My man sparking it up just when he gets in the groove...he’ll yea!
I love this song, one of my favs, It is such a deep song in so little words.
' Have a Cigar'- Pink Floyd 💋
Half. You a cool dude and DEFINITELY married up-up-up😉
So deep, so sad, so burning in it's perfect grief.
I was in the military for 21 years and lost so many friends. The pain you guys are carrying will burn you up. You should really lean on each other and let that go. I like you both. Wish I could have saved more people and would have if I could. Your show might have just saved me.
Pink Floyd listening rules, must use headphones and listen to live versions!! 😀
The 2 men shaking hands with 1 on fire is the album cover
My favorite Pink Floyd song! I also love comfortably numb.
This song ahead of its time it's still 🔥 🔥 🔥
I think this is one of the best songs by anyone ever
The mens shaking hands was filmed at Warner Bros. studios in Burbank. The stuntman Ronnie Rondell Jr. was really on fire. As mentioned it represents the band and the music label. When 2 business men shake hands one gets burnt.
My all time fav band been with them for over 40 years now. Most if not all have a message. .this is about mental illness and despair.
This bloody song always tears me up!
Y’all are sooo beautiful…thanks so much for sharing this. Sending good vibes back fam!!
One of my most favorites. If not, my most favorite. Explains alot of how I feel and how I see the world/life. 👍
A lot of my younger friends like this Pink Floyd song more than others.
It's kinda sad to watch this deep song just kind of crush your joyfulness. Love you guys!
We played this at my husbands funeral. He loved Pink Floyd.
Spot on .... Rodger Waters who wrote many of the songs I saw him in a documentary and he said he lost his father in WW2 and grew up with out a dad and he always missed him and his feeling of loss reflected in his music and the way he saw things.
