    after doing a firmware update I was able to get the lan only mode working, this should have worked with the shipped firmware version, so needed to be online with an account at least once to get the update to work off the internet, not sure why you can't start a print from bambu studio of a print stored on the SD card in lan only mode, maybe another firmware update and that will be fixed.

    I just got the X1E and am happy with the machine itself. There are 2 areas where the customer experience could be improved. The first is that I cannot get the discount “club” pricing on Bambu filament because it requires a code that you can only get if the machine is purchased from Bambu directly … the X1E requires purchasing through a reseller. The second is that tech support needs to go thru the reseller as well so you can’t go straight to Bambu on their tech support system. I tried my reseller’s tech support on 2 different issues and they did not even return my calls. Fortunately the self help ecosystem with Bambu is phenomenal and I could address on my own issue. I should note that my reseller was not this channel’s sponsor and was based out of Los Angeles since they were my closest vendor.

      For me, those things are DEAL BREAKERS!
      What a silly decision Bamboo has made to not allow PAYING CUSTOMERS to call support directly! JUST SILLY!
      As is with your experience, it's clear to me that a "reseller" just wants to SELL the product and not actually SUPPORT it, without $$$$.
      The other silly thing is not being able ot get the club discount.
      That should just be included inside every printer sold!!!
      They want people to buy THEIR filaments, but then make people jump through hoops.
      *DEAL BREAKERS*
      Add to that, that they way their printer changes filaments constantly through a print and creates LOTS of waste, is also a major DEAL BREAKER! Sure, there's an option for it to use the filament, during changes, for infill. But that too has its limitations.
      The other huge deal breaker is that it's all closed and not open.
      I do not like being locked into someone's product where you have no choice to buy parts and supplies from them.
      We already know that companies, especially ones that do silly things and/or have silly policies, often go out of business. Then what does a person do when they need something.
      It's too bad that for their color production, that they don't use a 4-to-1 filament director. This is where the 4 filaments enter their tubes (metal) and the tubes join to where the nozzle is. When a color is chosen, the one color just detracts up, while the next color is pushed right down. There's a printer that uses this, but I think that they only have the 2-color setup. To save waste, not only does their slicer have the option to use filament for infill and supports, but an option that tells it to just print without purging at all.
      So yeah, this Bamboo stuff is a no deal here.

    Does that chute cover up the Ethernet port? If so, what’s the point?

      That's a good point and a good question. I'm guessing you can get a chute design that wont block the Ethernet port?

    Thanks for the video. I'm wondering about a few things, how is Bambu doing with data security when printing, I've heard that users are getting connected to other printers' cameras, their creations are appearing on different servers.
    I've also heard that Bambu has a problem with huge waste material when printing from multiple colors, and long print times for more complex projects.
    Maybe it's not true, but considering the country Bambu comes from and the fact that the whole company is shrouded in secrecy, I have no confidence.
    I would compare it to a car that has a beautiful hood but inside there is an engine that you can't rely on.

      Ah! You mean like a Hyundai engine. LOL
      But seriously, I have zero trust for this company, especially if it's cloud based and/or our info is on THEIR servers as our builds.
      NO WAY!
      Certain countries have PROVEN that they can not be trusted!

    It’s actually a core XY printer is it not? A Cartesian would be like an ender 3 or a Prussia?

    • @GatlingNG
      @GatlingNG 6 месяцев назад +3

      Both bed slingers such as Ender 3, Prusa and CoreXY printers like the Voron or Bambu X1 are Cartesian. They use X, Y, Z (Cartesian coordinate system) to determine the movements of mechanical parts: the print head and the bed move according to the coordinates. A different type of commercial kinematics system are Delta printers such as the Flsun S1.

    this printer does not work fully without the internet as I was lead to believe, the camera, file transfer or control via network still needs the internet so spending the extra $1000 to have it work fully without the internet, which is does not, is a waste of money

    You don't do a great job of saying the differences between the X1C and the X1E. Unless the only difference is the wifi, ethernet features and the color.

    • @hectorplaza2980
      @hectorplaza2980 3 месяца назад

      only differences are 20 degrees on the hotend, chamber heater, physical wifi and ethernet switches, ethernet port, and enterprise level security protocols. Nothing more than that.
