At the end this flight was great. The problem here was that one spinner got loosen. All the rest was like it should be. No signal loos this time and the bird was flying great. After this flight I do believe that bad flap servo was to blame on the previous flights or maybe power supply from both ESCs which was factory done. I will leave this bird assembled and we will fly and test it more in the future. Just becouse of curiosity and fun. Thanks to all for all support and stopping by at our channel. Several of my friends flew these operationally. Great stories about the bird. One guy ferried one from SEA to Carson City.....Spent a lot of time at 50 ft. on the last leg. If I still lived on a lake I'd get a model to play with ......I'm 73 ,the models we had were launch and pray. No control. .....nice job.
The motors turn in different directions, the top of each prop turns inwards towards the nose. But the threads on the prop nuts are both normal right hand threads. Therefore when the motors begin to turn fast the port prop tightens but the starboard prop loosens. Solution, use some thread-lock on the prop nut threads.
This could well be the answer! If so, then the dreaded torque swing would make the plane go down to the left, hence the port wing tends to cop it.. Good thought!
That's also first thing which came into my mind whwn I saw how Robert tightens the propeller at 15:11. With a right-hand thread on prop shaft and nut, the starboard propeller will natually tend to loosen, especially at full throttle.
your troubleshooting techniques are good. 1 thing at a time. You eliminated many things. Sometimes it is finding out what is NOT the problem that will lead you to what IS the problem. Great flight.

Try swapping the esc's over and stress test on the ground not in the air. If the problem transfers to to other side, you can be sure it's the esc (it might need to be programmed or it's just knackered). If the problem remains on the same side, you can be pretty sure the motor is knackered. Good Luck and Greetings from the UK. Ps. As always, We Love Your Videos👍
@@MoiraOBrien you could draw that conclusion if the problem was there when the throttle was opened up from the start. But the problem first showed itself a couple of minutes into the flight. If you watched the previous test flights, the plane spiralled into the ground (or water), but we didn't pick up on the sound of the motors until this last flight, when Pilot Robert pointed it out. You could clearly hear that one of the motors began to struggle. It's more than likely a bad esc, but he won't know that until he runs the test, but I certainly wouldn't fly the plane until I was absolutely sure that I'd diagnosed and fixed the fault. They've been very lucky up until now, not to have written it off.

My conclusion, gremlins have moved into the mole holes. I'm convinced their the ones responsible for all the troubles, and crashes over the last year. I'm glad to see you got the plane back on the ground before they could finish their work. Those gremlins are crafty little devils. I caught one of those sly devils trying to sabotage one of my birds last summer. Since I live in Texas that little bushwhacker won't be sabotaging anybodies plane ever again. Definitely a different pitch in engine motor sound. Hey motors go bad sometimes. Yes I saw the landing and I salute Pilot Robert. No glue required. Blaz “untighightend = loosened”. First flight you had red flashing light on receiver. Robert not short cur bur short circuit. Very sexy plane outstanding landing!
Pilot Robert, I’ve saw a similar issue a fella had with his twin engine plane. He found one of his 3 ESC wires to one ESC had pulled loose including the socket the wire plugs into causing it to cut out. So, he found a BAD solder joint where the wire socket attaches to the ESC board. Instead of replacing the ESC, he resoldered it back, and plugged the wire back in. That fixed it. Not sure if that is your specific problem but it’s something to consider checking. Also- if you not already done it, I recommend calibrating the ESCs as well so the 2 motors are in sync when you give it throttle. Wish you luck on the troubleshoot. I had a few issues with my Bush Mule. I now have a UBEC to power the receiver and servos, a pair of 40A ESCs and Master Airscrew 3 blade props (as one of the originals exploded when I was exiting a flat spin). Now it's really great ... but I think the Albatross looks much more sexy! Please continue with troubleshooting as it's making an informative and interesting set of videos.

Very good Flight...saved this time...lot of details that make the success...try the plane grounded on a bench and put back all conbinations (one BEC-ESC...two BEC-ESC...orange receiver...and so on ) You will find the folty without flying and risking the plane...the unscrewed prop is only a mistery :) to add some fun...good luck.

Hello pilot Robert. Glad the Albatross was not crashed. I wonder if the motor unscrewed the prop nut. When motors are running in opposite directions, one of them is trying to tighten the prop nut and the other is trying to unscrew the prop nut👍🏻
Dear Robert and Blaz, first of all happy new year! In 15:37 (minutes/seconds) of this video, when Blaz tried the right propeller again, it could be seen that it was still loose although Robert had tightened it by hand. I think that this is at least part of the problem. Maybe then the motor and ESC are okay. The strange sound of the motor could have been the propeller. Great flight, it is fun to watch, as always. Love these guys! Try this-Take props off, turn tx on -full throttle, plug in Li-Po (enter esc programming). After both esc's beep entering programming, go to idle then unplug the Li-Po. See if that fixes your problem -Salute to you!!
The prop nut is undoing because it is a contra rotating prop if the thread is not a left hand thread it needs some thread lock to stop it undoing. Maybe that's my thoughts, great video as usual . Salutes from the UK 🇬🇧
Hi Captain Blaz, hi Captain Robert, I'm happy that You landed the mystic Albatross in one piece, great landing! I admire you for not giving up and for sharing the continued hard fight with the Albatross. For me as a colleague who also shares this great hobby your videos are very interesting and inspiring (esp. the videos with the nitro planes, special regards to Captain Blaz!). I just watched your Videos with the mystic Albatross, and I realized that the plane, before it went down, was too slow and it stalled. In the first video with the terrible wind, you flew a curve so that the plane had the wind from its back so that the airspeed was too low an the plane stalled. In the third video where it was snowing you made a slow flyby, pulled the elevator, the plane flew high and you lost speed. Then you flew a left curve, in which you need more airspeed to avoid a stall. That's in my point of view why the plane first stalled in this video. This time you managed to recover the plane. Before the next right curve, the plane was just hanging in the air with a high angle of attack. Then, in the curve to the right, the plane was too slow and stalled again. In the fourth video where your wife was filming, you made also a slow flyby, pulled the plane high up in the air so that it lost speed and stalled in the curve to the left. The cause for the stalls are probably connected with the signal losses or the inadequate operating electric motors. Have a good time and let us take part of your passion for model flying in the future! We like you a lot for showing us the joyful sides of our hobby, but also the sometimes tragic moments. The prop that cums lose spins to the right so would not spin lose

Excellent advice. I was wonder g if it is a problem with the differential thrust - maybe the neutral position is out in favor of the left motor?

That tray is great and causes no problems, I've flown my sport Cub S with a park flyer receiver over 100 Yards away and never lost signal.

Very good Flight...saved this time...lot of details that make the success...try the plane grounded on a bench and put back all conbinations (one BEC-ESC...two BEC-ESC...orange receiver...and so on ) You will find the folty without flying and risking the plane...the unscrewed prop is only a mistery :) to add some fun...good luck.

I had the same thing happen to me and like to drove me crazy. It was a bad serval maybe your problem too. Nice job guys the mountains are beautiful in the background.

great re-maiden , i thought you had the answer for sure , the separate battery pack is a great way forward to eliminate any esc problems ,,,,yep we all crash thats what keeps this hobby interesting 👍👍👍

I wonder if the motor unscrewed the prop nut.
When motors are running in opposite directions, one of them is trying to tighten the prop nut and the other is trying to unscrew the prop nut👍🏻

In 15:37 (minutes/seconds) of this video, when Blaz tried the right propeller again, it could be seen that it was still loose although Robert had tightened it by hand. I think that this is at least part of the problem. Maybe then the motor and ESC are okay. The strange sound of the motor could have been the propeller.
Great flight, it is fun to watch, as always. The landing was MOST excellent!!

Love these guys! Try this-Take props off, turn tx on -full throttle, plug in Li-Po (enter esc programming). After both esc's beep entering programming, go to idle then unplug the Li-Po. See if that fixes your problem -Salute to you!!

The prop nut is undoing because it is a contra rotating prop if the thread is not a left hand thread it needs some thread lock to stop it undoing. Maybe that's my thoughts, great video as usual . Salutes from the UK 🇬🇧

I'm happy that You landed the mystic Albatross in one piece, great landing! I admire you for not giving up and for sharing the continued hard fight with the Albatross. For me as a colleague who also shares this great hobby your videos are very interesting and inspiring (esp. the videos with the nitro planes, special regards to Captain Blaz!).
I just watched your Videos with the mystic Albatross, and I realized that the plane, before it went down, was too slow and it stalled.
In the first video with the terrible wind, you flew a curve so that the plane had the wind from its back so that the airspeed was too low an the plane stalled.
In the third video where it was snowing you made a slow flyby, pulled the elevator, the plane flew high and you lost speed. Then you flew a left curve, in which you need more airspeed to avoid a stall. That's in my point of view why the plane first stalled in this video. This time you managed to recover the plane. Before the next right curve, the plane was just hanging in the air with a high angle of attack. Then, in the curve to the right, the plane was too slow and stalled again.
In the fourth video where your wife was filming, you made also a slow flyby, pulled the plane high up in the air so that it lost speed and stalled in the curve to the left.
The cause for the stalls are probably connected with the signal losses or the inadequate operating electric motors.
