@@thetruthbehindplanessadly there aren’t many trainers on the market for that price. Family makes a pa18 cub for 200$ usd. They also sell the ranger for 229$ But what I would reccomend is the Hobbyzone Aeroscout, ready to fly is 199$ and Without a battery and transmitter is 179$
Theres something called a wedge washer that will 100% fix your slanted wheel issue. Just add the washer to the side of the axle that doesnt sit flush and it will then be flush!! Nice project!!!
I'm pretty sure Jon would advise that you set all of the servo travels to 150% and shove the battery into the tail for perfect high alpha setup. Assuming you've already split the flaps, ailerons and elevators out, installed a 10+ channel Rx and use half a dozen mixes for gains, throttle and various wing configurations. Easy peezy! 👍 Jk, Jon! Brian made me do it 😊
Sooo, Fusion has this crazyyyy function where you assign a material to the part you draw up and then with one click, it will tell you the volume and mass of the part...;). Just you know, so you don't end up with nasty surprises down the road.
Love it, you make me feel better about my repair ability. I'm better at flying into fences. Love the creativity. I would like to try PCBway for parts, but I don't have the ability to design them myself. Do they help with that?
The new front gear struts look like they're on backwards. If you put them on facing the other way it'll push the wheels forwards a bit, not look so... erm... backwards & stop it nosing into the ground if it hits a bump on T/O & L.
It doesn’t nose over at all under normal circumstances. It nosed over when I opted to get cocky and try tail up taxiing with the tail above the nose. The main gear are placed exactly where they should be for a tailwheel: just ahead of the leading edge. We swept the gear backwards because we used the existing float mount screw plate. No different than how the Vans RV aircraft have their gear configured. 👍
@TailHeavyProductions Gotcha! I got used to it as time went on. The canards are interesting. If you went full size, fixed or moving, maybe have their AoA a little higher than the mains. That way, as the stall approaches the canards stall first, thus dropping the nose as they lose lift, increasing the airspeed. It may porpoise just a little but the mains will never stall. It's the safest configuration of all. Good video mate, I love experimenting. Keep safe 😎☮️
Can you guys please do an E-flite Air tractor 1.5m review. I really want to get it and hear it flies great but i need to know if it can do what I want it to.
I just came back from playing today I'm new to the hobby and the field I go to flaming geyser in Washington do you know of any good fields around there
Hold up I’ve just had a light bulb moment. Put Uma Grip on the tail to slow down even faster. Also probably less likely to nose over. Also you guys r obsessed with uma grip so the more the better right?
We didn't have issues with it nosing over for normal takeoff and landings. Trying to purposely fly the tail while holding down elevator is what did it in.
@@TailHeavyProductions ye it looked pretty good for this one I was just thinking about it in general for other aircraft like the viper bush conversion. Also mainly just because it would make the plane slow down faster (more friction)
No way to remove weight to a degree where you’d feel it in flight especially with the FMS foam density being super high. So we worked with what we had. 😁
At this reynold's number, how smooth a surface of that size is added to an already smooth airplane from a parasitic drag standpoint really doesn't make a difference.
That was funny, but why so long between videos? I get that new england is freezezing, its 30 degrees in texas, but you said to just get hand warmers and transmitter muffs and go fly anyway.
Check out our community post from a month or two back. Life is busy for us these days - but we're doing our best to fit in what we can for uploads! Thanks for watching.
Solid aeronautical competence, combined with an inability to make simple wheels spin soberly. You guys are the exact opposite of so many of today's RC plane designers, thank God. Keep it up.
I always find it suspect when RUclipsrs have a lot of subscribers, but not many views. This isn't so bad, but still strange that over 23 hours this video got 7300 views and 56k subs. Does RUclips pay for subs to make their channel look big and popular to get people's attention? Am I the only one that finds it a little weird?
Channels that are flashy but annoying to watch, like this one, get initial subs but they stop watching once they hear the guys chipmunk laugh over every flight.
Great content crew! Reminds me of the Spoctra50 content from years ago, the will it fly from leftover parts was awesome! I'm sure y'all could do something with your parts bin...
The idea was to mount it to an existing hard point on the fuselage. The location of the tires is where they should be on any tailwheel airplane: just ahead of the leading edge of the wing.

hey, i know that you have more experience in 3d printing than i do (i dont even own a 3d printer yet) but while 3d printing the canards try doing it upright so you dont get these nasty layers on the top. it wont do much in that scale but it will look nicer and it might be a bit more areodynamic (you can also use sandpaper to smooth it out if you have enough layers)

I’ve been watching for a while now I love down on Georgia and would like to get with you and get you out here to where I fly at I fly mainly turbines but I would love to get yall out here and shoot some stuff I’ve got some fun stuff I could bring out
This video is a boring as that Cessna. Arguably the most basic, boring and mediocre aircraft ever. Which is exactly what it was designed to be. Not everything can bush and not everything should. Now don’t get he wrong, I liked the video and commented so you remain on my feed because you can’t make a winner every week, I’m just saying…don’t try Cessna’s anymore. They suck.
The full scale variant’s canards are mounted in line with the thrust line, which is about 3 degrees less than the wing. They also have movable control surfaces, while ours do not, which is why we couldn’t take full advantage of them.
You guys are lunatics. I have a similar 182, but it's got a one-piece wing, so don't have to suffer through watching your mum through the damn ancient EGA connectors.
Why not have a 15 angle for the axle to mount to or whatever deg it takes to make wheels mount vertical....u already designed the gear y not just add little jibs in design process😂😂...no disrespect just a genuine curiosity

thats so expensive
are there any rc trainers you can get for under £140?

There's something more entertaining about just letting the wheel wiggle, though. 😂
@TailHeavyProductions agreed, never mind, clear for takeoff
Nice experiment doing a tail dragger out of this plane. On the other hand a Bigfoot is already a tail dragger in a better size and flys great.
I can’t believe you plugged it into a TV 😂😂😂 The best RC entertainment on the Tube. Thank you!

Another PCB Productions classic
No, those are DB9 connectors, not VGA. The only way to connect that to a TV would be as a controller input to an Atari, Sega Genesis, etc.. ;)
Small vertical fins between ailerons & flaps, drooping vortex wingtips, vortex generators on wings & stabilizer
Been watching utube all day and found your channel, bloody marvellous and very funny cheers

The best looking plane released in 2024 and you did what to it? I shouldn't be surprised. Have a great 2025 gentlemen.
i think my rc plane scratch build may be too expensive to build.
for now,i am just watching you.
A sliding or adjustable battery tray but on top of the wing so you can place it aft and have the cg more in the center of the toob . Trust me bro

@@TailHeavyProductions What about a bush conversion?
Amazing guys ❤

what are your toughts on the e-flite ec1500?
Never owned one.
@TailHeavyProductions i've seen the presentation video of the old version and the V2 and their pratically a twin otter but with a cargo door.
Full span flaperons would would be interesting.
should i buy a dx8 or nx8 because im lost and nobody has compared them before?
I considered making my dynam 182 into a bush plane, but I accidentally turned it into a lawn dart instead. The main gear lives on attached to my S2.
How many timbers will carry my surron???😅❤

The Fucked Cub isn't even a plane.
If I were you I would have printed the canards vertically so that they are smoother along the top

Understandable. Thanks for replying, I didn't think that would work.
You could save weight by cutting 4 flat edges on the wheels. Ground handling should be about the same!
This video made me genuinely mad. (😡) Just ruined a perfectly scale airframe!!!
Solid aeronautical competence, combined with an inability to make simple wheels spin soberly. You guys are the exact opposite of so many of today's RC plane designers, thank God. Keep it up.

Instead of making a nose gear, y didn't y'all use the floats?🤷♂️ I use floats on damp-wet grass, water, snow, & grass in the summer too🤷♂️
The CGi is incredible I can't tell if it's crayon or colored pencil

Precisely.
@TailHeavyProductions The way God intended.
One of the most authentic FMS airplanes out there, well in this case, was!!!!
Where's Baylee? Great video

Also the gear looks like it should've been moutned further back and flipped around
The idea was to mount it to an existing hard point on the fuselage. The location of the tires is where they should be on any tailwheel airplane: just ahead of the leading edge of the wing.
It looks a lot like a Cessna 185
Tasty
The children screaming “WOWWWWW” was funny as hell.
