  • It's cold here today, even a little snow on the ground. Makes me think about heat pads! Here's a quick guide to how to create your own neck and back pads using just cotton flannel and corn. You can get corn from your local farm or feed store, just make sure it is whole shelled corn, untreated. If you can't get corn, you can use rice or untreated wheat.
    I keep these in my freezer so I can also use them as cold packs for migraines. Just pull one out and heat it up in the microwave when you need heat instead. Be careful not to heat them too long, they can burn. Start with one minute and add 30 seconds at a time until it is as hot as you want it.
