Backyard pond fish underwater video
The backyard pond fish are doing great so far. Trying to get better underwater video, thinking we're going to need to add some lighting. I'd like to find an underwater cam I can leave on all the time, for a livestream of the fish.
In the meantime, here's a couple minutes using a GoPro. The fish were being a little shy, schooling up at a distance, but some food flakes on the surface convinced them to come closer.

New Rain Barrel and Pond Update
Просмотров 48Год назад
Check out the new rain barrel. As the pond evaporates, we have to add water back in. The city water has chemicals in it and it's colder than the pond, so we wanted a way to let it acclimate before we add it. With this new barrel, we can let 50 gallons sit for a few days and add it as we need it. If you want to get your own, here's a link: www.samsclub.com/p/downton-50-dkgranite-50-gal-rain-barr...
Getting my fish pond ready for the year
Просмотров 174Год назад
Prepping my backyard fish pond for the season. I had to drain it, clean all the leaves and junk out, spray it down, drain it again, clean the fountain, pot some flowers, fill it back up, and add the fish. I'll do a follow-up in a week or so after the fish get established better. #ponds #fishpond music credits to: veda belew @retroaaesthetics on Instagram!

Quick video of me planting flowers next to the house. These flowers are purple and pink Calibrachoa. The green plants around the faucet are hostas that someone gave us. They've only been planted for a few days, so they haven't perked up yet. Sorry no audio, was too windy outside to record my voice. music credits to: veda belew @retroaaesthetics on Instagram!
Replacing Main Motor in a Brother PR600II Embroidery Machine

One of my Brother PR600II machines needed a main motor replacement. This is the motor that runs the main parts of the machine, and it developed a really bad grinding and squeaking noise. For most repairs like this one, I'm able to source parts from sites such as sewingpartsonline.com and replace them myself - much cheaper than paying someone else to do it. #brothermachine #machineembroidery #wo...

    I have a PR1050x and I am currently experiencing these worst headaches with my machine local dealer repair for service . I took it in February 3 just got it back March 21 today March 24th I turn it on for the first time to run test stitched and get this message. Main motor encoder signal error. Clear it off once then it says needle position incorrect. Turn it off turn the knob in the back check the bobbin for thread etc, I find nothing. Turn the machine back on same error. Local dealer doesn’t open back up till Tuesday I am beyond frustrated and literally need to learn how to fix my own machine. This has been my first service since I purchased the machine 2020 but I didn’t really use the machine until 2021 spring. Watching your video gives me hope that I can do these repairs. Though I still do not know what this message means I still have hope they can fix it but hopefully it’s not another 2 months to do so.?It’s just not enough video showing how. I truly hate, which is a strong word being at the mercy for almost 2 months waiting for service. Lost business and struggling to keep motivated. Thank you so much for this video.

    Hi Alaine, I also just replaced my main motor from my PR650 but the belt looks very loose. We did a test embroidery and the belt almost slide off. We put back the old motor on to see if it was doing the same thing and it does. We did not have any problems with this belt before. Any idea what to do ?

    How is it that you make it look so simple, I actually watched your vid doing these 3 weeks maybe a month ago recommended by a tech. that is helping me grow into my Avance 1501. I told Alen the Tech. with Coldesi that I wanted to embroider Koozie's, so he forwarded a few links for patches and koozies. A few weeks ago, I went out and purchased a secondhand Brother project runway sewing machine, I did my first Koozie this evening, outside of me embroidering the logo upside down did I mention I'm a newbie for the most part, when I go to stich the sides up I'm either sewing to fast slow I'm not sure but the foam wants to roll over just will not stay together. It's almost like the presser foot is holding down to much I'm not sure. First time even using a sewing machine I have spent a few weeks watching videos trying to learn. Any suggestion would much appreciated, I'm looking at a box of 100 well 99 un sewn koozies I just knew I could do Thank You Lance PS I also tried lowering the presser dogs nope didn't help

    I just bought my first embroidery machine, an MB7. How often do you change needles? Is there a way to know how many stitches there are on each needle?

    • @alainescrafts
      @alainescrafts Год назад

      A good rule of thumb would be about 40 hours of continuous use, but there are many variables, starting with what types of fabric you are using. Also, if you run a lot of jobs that only use a few needles, and you always start with needle #1, your low-numbered needles will wear out before the higher-numbered ones. So, if you're trying to get the most out of your needles, you might want to skip around to get even wear across all of them. For me, I've been running these machines long enough that I can just hear them sounding different when they start to get dull. It's kind of a "thump" that they start to make when they aren't poking through cleanly. When that happens, I just change all the needles in the machine at once, because it's easier than trying to keep track of which ones I changed and when. Needles are pretty low-cost, really.

    How do you vacuum seal liquid?

    • @alainescrafts
      @alainescrafts Год назад

      With the sealer I have, it's difficult to vacuum-seal liquid. When sealing that cabbage soup, it has a tendency to pull out some of the liquid as it creates a vacuum. One thing I've read is that people will prep the bags, fill them, and then freeze. Once frozen, they can seal without the liquid being vacuumed out. All of the soups we have done so far are pretty thick, so it hasn't been a real issue for us.
