      If Mathias Cronqvist (Dracula) never betrayed Leon Belmont by Orchestrating Leon into having slay his own wife... this wouldn't have happened.
      I kind of wish the show at least hinted at that, because you then realize this shit kind of came full circle back to Dracula.

    Most people might be asking "How did the previous Belmonts defeat Dracula if he's this strong while suicidal?"
    They *didn't.*
    If the timeline of the games is to be (loosely) followed, Trevor is the first Belmont to have fought Dracula. All the others fought vampires and monsters, yes, but not Dracula. Likely because he seemed to keep to himself and only killed intruders (admittedly plenty, going by the number of impaled corpses shown at the very start of the show), so they didn't see much of a need to go up against him. Even Leon, who (if this Dracula is Cronqvist) was there when Dracula came to be, *didn't* actually fight him. He fought his top lackey, Death.
    All the Belmonts until Trevor either didn't *fight* Dracula, or didn't _win_ against him.

Except Lament of Innocence, but in that you just don't fight Dracula. Like, at all.
      So basically, the games' timeline jumped around the place like the Zelda one does, except there were no alternate timeline on top of it. Just a miserable little pile of shitheads in charge of running it into the ground. Again, fucKonami.

    After rewatching this fight, I can agree with the rest of the people comments that if dracula would have no problems killing Alucard in this fight if he were to go at full strength. Since, Dracula wasn't going at full strength, I'm wondering if Alucard was holding his strength back as well, perhaps having second thoughts in killing his father. Alucard should know well enough that he can't beat his father through physical combat after a few punches ,so why not add some spells to the fight or use his sword?

      @notsosafeforwork3729 5 лет назад +39

      Personally, I prefer if they keep him dead and move forward with the story without him. From how I see it, him letting Alucard, his son, kill him was a great way to redeem himself. He was willing to give humanity a chance for his wife, but had her taken away from him and had lost faith. But he failed to realize until the end that Alucard carries within him a piece of humanity as well. And that part would be Lisa.
      It would be fitting for him to find true death at the hands of someone who has a part of him and his wife within. It would break the Castlevania lore, yes, but given the emotional story they've given us with this show, I think it'd be a smart move. To resurrect him would cheapen the impact of his final moment with Alucard in the show.
      Besides, I find that in the games Dracula just never learns and keeps coming back.

      @@notsosafeforwork3729 That's the conundrum I'm struggling with too, I want nothing more than to see a prequel with Leon, then a Simon, Juste and Richter (Including SotN stuff) series and maybe even Christopher? Give him the attention he never got.
      but this was such a perfect end. The nuance of Dracula is so finely crafted.
      I am thinking maybe after each Resurrection he is less and less 'himself', focus more on a secondary antagonist in each one but just have it be more of the formless power of Dracula than the man himself.
