this demons are probably isaac's creations, since all of their eyes are glowing red. while hector's creatures has blue eyes. EDIT: almost 400 Likes... Thanks,
I like the demons. In this fight, they're not portrayed as mindless beasts, but more like thinking creatures. I say that because of how they fight. The spear demon and that flying one teaming up for a better advantage, and the fire breathing ones keeping their distance to attack.
The "spear demon and the flying one" are Gaibon and Slogra from the Castlevania games. They're also the first bosses Alucard fights in his own game Symphony of the Night which takes place roughly 350 years after the events of Castlevania 3 and Castlevania Curse of Darkness(the 2 games that these first three seasons and the upcoming 4th season are/seem to be based on).
Because they are not actual monsters, being human souls ripped from Hell instead. Come S3 and an antiquarian even sells a valuable magick item for Issac in exchange for Isaac forging his soul into a monster after death.
@@ДаниилЖевнерев-т9ы he doesn't sell it to isaac, he gives it to isaac as a gift and makes a joke about having a forgemaster friend, which is discussed later with the captain on the ship
This is a showcase on how fights should look. Smart proficient enemies, both sides using intelligence and their strengths to their advantage. Gosh I love this scene.
I've heard the show still has a lot to come in adapting a lot of the monsters from the games I haven't played them personally, that being said I ADORE THE MONSTER DESIGNS IN THIS SERIES! They seem a lovely mixture of demonic and actual biological beings with actual organs meant for their tasks. Though many aren't named there certainly are individual demons that stand out in my opinion
I like to think it’s because these monsters are created from rotting corpses giving them this like...idk, menacingly grotesque look even if they’re drones.
I actually want to see the werewolves from the franchise make an appearance again as a faction under Dracula. Considering what happened to Dracula's army, this would be a cool opportunity to bring them in. Actually, when I first saw Godbrand, I thought maybe he was some viking werewolf until it turned out he was just potty mouth boat loving vampire.
@@tenacityxl they aren't drones even. They are damned souls from Hell manifesed physically so, while unconditionally loyal to dark wizards like Dracula or Forgemasters they are quite sentient creatures. Isaac in S3 even makes a demon soldier using a deceased Athens philosopher soul (who went to Hell for ratting out his comerades to Christians) and he even thanks the Forgemaster for giving him a second life.
I love the subtle tribute to the Super Castlevania IV lore (i.e. By including the cameos of Slogra and Gaibon boss demons and their coordinated attack against Alucard in this scene).
My only problem with the Castlevania anime it has one of the biggest most diverse set of monsters and enemies yet we get alot of basic bat demons, no skeletons, no dudes in armor just demons.
I agree that we should get more variety in the monsters and demons and stuff. Although some enemies in the games are goofy AF and I wouldn't like them showing up in the show either.
@@eternal-silence911 Incorrect. Anime is short for Animeeshon, which translate to animation. In Japan they have Cartoon Network in which advertising narrator calls the shows "anime". Disney is also a big thing in Japan and also considered Anime. The whole "It's not anime" is Weeb mentality.
@Bryson the Mad Pencil No, that's false. You are referring more towards the cultural difference in writing, along with pen techniques and animation styles many refer to actually originate from Russian Illustration and animation. It's also worth noting many American animated shows outsource to studios in all Asia (Korea/ China/ Thailand/ etc). This includes Japan. So if they still 'don't count as anime'; you are choosing to be culturally ignorant. "chinese and American animations" Weird logic. Firstly, most China audience animated shows are controlled due towards the countries government policy with media. You get majority based on ancient China’s Qin Dynasty mixed with F2P MOBAs usually ripping off Blzzard games. Poorly written and poorly animated, gloried adverts. Art usually looks good though. Character variety is lacking_ I personally like Japanese animation when it's a good show, however I don't rely on any region for my enjoyment of animation. I base quality on what's delivered. America is certainly no better, for every one good show they have fifty cash-grab trash and ten fart jokes (Rick and Morty being one show that is more than just a stupid fart joke). Some of my favorites in recent years includes Ducktales, One Punch Man, and Wakfu. All coming from different countries. So while you focus on pro Muria and somehow like Chienese MOBA adverts, I will just like quality animation.
Not sure if I'm misinterpreting, but at 1:46 as Alucard and Trevor start to dodge the barrage of fireballs, it looks like right after he does his cartwheel, Trevor is gearing up to strike with his whip but either changes his mind or is forced to stop due to the incoming fireballs. If that was the intention that's some damn good attention to detail right there on the animators' part
I love the little detail that the night creatures recognize alucard and are unsure if they are to attack him. But once he makes his intentions clear they gets the go ahead
i love how sypha is actutally using the best magic for the oporunity trapping a fireball in a demons throat is very clever and appropriate as every strength can also a weakness a vampire misting would be very water based and water is susceptible to flash freezing more than any other element that i know of
Gods this show is so well done for a hundred different reasons. You can just keep coming back to it and find something else you realize you missed the first time but still love.
Dude, i love that even if they are powerfull, they need to resort to strategy to solve a problem, it's annoying how in animation you just need or unlock new powers that solve everything. Can't wait for season 4!!
Alucard and Belmont put up a nice show of a fight. But Sypha... dang, seems like fire on the inside can be controlled... One more person never to mess with Thank you for the show.
Aside from the utter badassery of Trevor and Sypha in S3 in particular, can we just enjoy the fact that there are literally no trash mobs in this show? Every night creature is intelligent as hell and it's really nice to see
I like how Sypha's mage class here isn't nearly useless. In some shows where there's a mage or someone who uses magic, their character gets beaten around so much until their story arc comes. But here in castlevania, she didn't need one to make herself stronger. I also like how the team here actually really works as a team and doesn't have just one member plotting amd carrying them. In some shows, if that one member gone, then the entire team dynamic falls apart. Castlevania is such a fresh realistic look on fantasy stuff as a whole and i yhink that's just lovely
I really slept on this show for a while but it's easily been one of the most fun watches I've had in a minute. I can see why everyone and their grandmother wanted this studio and director to take the lead with berserk.
The two monsters from Symphony of the night brought back childhood memories that have no price. To see them again in Anime at this level was awesome. Also showed the pair actually fighting.
Slogra and Gaibon are actually bosses in castlevania: symphony of the night game and Alucard also fighting them. Excited to see this easter egg. Though in the game, they are pathetically weak but here, they got some nice teamwork going on.
They are much more difficult in their original appearance, Super Castlevania 4... Although they are fought in individual rooms. They are both in the final stage though.
1:10 is just awesome! I like how they're not just mindless beasts, they work together and set up combos with each other to fight him. This is about as far as I've gotten, but so far the fights in this are really good. The animation in this series is top notch.
if anything trevor seems like the weakest fighter. But he usually plans or delivers a really crucial blow after the other two have thoroughly disrupted the enemy. E.g In this fight he takes out the flying enemy just as it started to frustrate Alucard
I as a long time Castlevania player never thought I would see the day when Castlevania would be the most bad ass video game to film/anime adaptation of all times. I’m full man.
I admire how everyone in the comments agrees about our main trios teamwork and how none of three overlaps the other. They each have their time to shine and it doesn’t focus on “HEY! Alucard is carrying this group!; Man, these guys are nothing without Sypha; Trevor is such dead weight to Sypha and Alucard!; etc” Everyone has their part to play in winning their fights, and this teamwork stays connected throughout the entire season!
Everyone is talking about how the protagonists are fighting but can we talk about the coordination and skill these low tier henchman are showing!! it feels like an actual life or death fight rather than the daily grind before we fight a boss
I love how for the most part even very minor demons in this show are very obviously competent instead of just being fodder to inflate the characters' egos
This is how you’re supposed to use magic manipulate your enemy’s power against them. I like how Sypha stop the demon from breathing the fire at them , she squeezed the fire to make it explode
If you look closely at 1:32 you can see how Trevor grabs the spear from seemingly super high in the air and lands in one piece killing the beast. It's actually reminiscent of an old technique used by people who live in mountainous areas of the world. They'd have a large wood or metal stick and they could jump off large (within reason) heights and use the stick to break their fall by having the stick fall first and then bracing themselves on it. It's exactly what Trevor does and I absolutely adore it. (I also love how Trevor, the only non super powered member of the group to ironically, be the FIRST to notice the night creatures, shows just how in touch with their senses the Belmont's are
Sypha has made me feel so refreshed. There have been so many mary sues written these days, but she’s not one of them. Immediately established as a mage, skilled in her art, and she can utilize the knowledge of her family, the speakers. There was establishment and even character development, ESPECIALLY in season 3. She’s just awesome
@@kaihedgie1747 From the get go, we're introduced to Rey as someone who seems pretty darn independent. Fine, cool, she has been on a remote desert planet for much of her life since her parents left, that can be understandable. (This is episode 7 by the way) But throughout the movie without any explicable knowledge of the force or how it works, she just suddenly becomes a prodigy whereas the greatest Jedi known to the universe at the time was Luke Skywalker, and even he had to go through training with Master Yoda, and CONTINUED his training as depicted in the canon comics. Back to Rey. The most training we witness of her in any fashion is in episode 8, and she moves a few rocks and does a couple of lightsaber waves unsupervised. The fact that she could even touch Sidious in Episode 9 is blasphemous to Star Wars, and writing in general, for she was nowhere near powerful enough. The epitome of "mary sue with no training defeats Dark Lord of the Sith strong enough to resurrect himself through the force after years of death." This is the reason I love Sypha so much. We watch her grow and grow as a character, and we see her magic improve as she spends more time fighting night creatures, and journeying with Trevor. She shows emotion. The way she thinks, feels, and acts develops and changes as she faces adversity. To be honest, I was hoping Trevor would die so she'd be the focus of a possible spinoff later on to raise the next Belmont.
@@huddahhuddah3315 Your criticisms can just as easily be applied to her male predecessors, but before that No, she does not become a "prodigy" in any sense. You want to focus solely on Episode VII but ignore her training moving forward. There is also nothing to suggest prodigious talent As opposed to Luke failing tests on Dagobah, but still being able to beat Vader, someone who was not only an actual prodigy, but has been trained in the Force since he was a child and has been in far more lightsaber battles? That's not even getting into Legends Luke, who actually carries all of the hallmarks of what one would call a Gary Stu. She doesn't "touch" Sidious. She beats him when she's empowered by the Jedi of the past. You also leave out the part where she dies in the effort, something that didn't happen to Luke and Anakin in their respective times when faced against similar threats. You left out the part where Sypha is the only Speaker that does any fighting period and her training is never actually seen. It seems to me you like Sypha because she's not as over-the-top like Alucard and Trevor and seem to despise Rey for being the female central protagonist
Just realized when rewatching this, holy shit. I thought they had that 0:32 was just a character moment for Sypha, and it IS. But oh my god, she pulled her hood up in order to better sneak around and blend in, so she could do exactly what she did without her risking her bright hair catching the hellbeasts' attention. That is an ACTUAL DETAIL they put in wtf animators. O.o She judged these two bozo's were going to go harrying off in their own ways (Alucard as the "over the top", attention-drawing front fighter and Trevor as the 1st line of ambush), and immediately took the role as the one who waited as the backup if the two of them got into a tight spot.
Can we take a moment to appreciate the fact that the enemies have some kind of strategy and tactics? That's so refreshing you dont even know xD

this demons are probably isaac's creations, since all of their eyes are glowing red. while hector's creatures has blue eyes.
EDIT: almost 400 Likes... Thanks,
I didn't notice that.
Wow sharp catch, i didn't even think so far!
duuuuude you just blew my mind
Which makes sense because Issac suggested attacking Argesh (or however it’s spelt) in the series
True. Also one of these demons escapes back to Isaac.
@@ДаниилЖевнерев-т9ы It’s too bad he doesn’t go against Hector like in the games.
Maybe the Netflix series isn’t canon.
Sypha's a boss.
I love how they are somewhat struggling in the beginning and then learn how to work together
Yeah it was also nice to see Slogra and Gaibon working together again.
1:02 I just *LOVE* the Alucard Sword, seeing they kept true to the roots of Symphony of the night made me a fan of this show even more 💯🤌🏿😎
My only problem with the Castlevania anime it has one of the biggest most diverse set of monsters and enemies yet we get alot of basic bat demons, no skeletons, no dudes in armor just demons.
I agree that we should get more variety in the monsters and demons and stuff. Although some enemies in the games are goofy AF and I wouldn't like them showing up in the show either.
It's not an anime
@@eternal-silence911 Incorrect. Anime is short for Animeeshon, which translate to animation. In Japan they have Cartoon Network in which advertising narrator calls the shows "anime". Disney is also a big thing in Japan and also considered Anime.
The whole "It's not anime" is Weeb mentality.
Bryson the Mad Pencil anime is an artstyle you idiot
Character variety is lacking_
I personally like Japanese animation when it's a good show, however I don't rely on any region for my enjoyment of animation.
One of the most underrated action scenes in this show and honestly might be my favorite one
Just love when trevor snags the spear
I love the little detail that the night creatures recognize alucard and are unsure if they are to attack him. But once he makes his intentions clear they gets the go ahead
0:43 I love how the demon are like " Isn't he the son of our CEO or something?"
1:08 Just leaving this here so I can repeatedly view the Slogra and Gaibon fight.
In fight scenes like this I just screamed "THEY'RE SO FUCKING COOL" This series has been made with a lot of heart and it shows.
i love how sypha is actutally using the best magic for the oporunity trapping a fireball in a demons throat is very clever and appropriate as every strength can also a weakness a vampire misting would be very water based and water is susceptible to flash freezing more than any other element that i know of
Gods this show is so well done for a hundred different reasons. You can just keep coming back to it and find something else you realize you missed the first time but still love.
and that's how you firebend everyone.
that's how you mage
true
Also true. Fuck Natsu.@@wonderlandartwork3579
Now who would win in a fight? Azula or Sypha? 🤔
Technically , you can also freeze someone to death with fire manipulation. How ? By taking their own bodily heat by force
I like how they made trevor seem badass despite the fact my man don't got no powers or anything
I mean, these three together is a three person army I wouldn't wanna fight against. They complement each other so freaking well.
"No further"
Dude, i love that even if they are powerfull, they need to resort to strategy to solve a problem, it's annoying how in animation you just need or unlock new powers that solve everything.
Can't wait for season 4!!
Alucard and Belmont put up a nice show of a fight. But Sypha... dang, seems like fire on the inside can be controlled... One more person never to mess with
Thank you for the show.
I remember those guys from Castlevania IV and Symphony of the Night
Castlevania... IV? Don’t you mean III? This is an adaptation of Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse
@@alexeas5256 Yes, but Slogra and Gaibon (whom the trio are fighting in this scene) were first introduced in IV, and are the first boss in SotN.
Nyx Shadowhawk oh that makes sense. I haven’t played that one
the way the animated sypha and her spells is AMAZING😍
Gotta love how they don’t monologue. Just fight like hell and don’t get reckless
A vampire, a vampire hunter, and a maige. Nothing can really stop a powerful team like this
Except Dracula.
Dhampir, actually.
1:10 Gaibon and Slogra
The real ones will have recognized them.
What are the real ones?
A misserable little lile of secrets.
But enough talk. HAVE AT YOU!
*STEP BACK*
*NO FURTHER*
Sypha just straight up casting fireball INSIDE THE DEMON
“Animals hunting in the undergrowth.”
*a literal monster snarling*
“...wait, no.”
Aside from the utter badassery of Trevor and Sypha in S3 in particular, can we just enjoy the fact that there are literally no trash mobs in this show? Every night creature is intelligent as hell and it's really nice to see
Why is every fight scene in this show just so amazing?
My best guess is that the makers believe in quality over quantity.
The fact Sypha literally took control of the fire inside the demon was badass all the way!
Sypha at 2:09 “oh, you did not just shoot that red shit at me”
Sypha animation in 2:05 is just... amazing.
I think what I like about the combat in this series is that it isn’t super fast paced and it lets you appreciate the animation
I really slept on this show for a while but it's easily been one of the most fun watches I've had in a minute. I can see why everyone and their grandmother wanted this studio and director to take the lead with berserk.
Gotta love how even the demons know how to throw hands. Such a cool detail.
Sypha knows how to use her powers.
Poor Gaibon and Slogra. They had no idea that Trevor's whip can reach that far. Lol.
Omg the ending to this is the most f***ed up way to die as a fire breather.
The two monsters from Symphony of the night brought back childhood memories that have no price. To see them again in Anime at this level was awesome. Also showed the pair actually fighting.
Sypha is literally the avatar i am obsessed with her
Sypha turning that creatures chest into a highly unstable combustion engine was pretty brutal. Love it
Anyone else love the fact that they included Slogra and Gaibon?
Slogra and Gaibon are actually bosses in castlevania: symphony of the night game and Alucard also fighting them. Excited to see this easter egg. Though in the game, they are pathetically weak but here, they got some nice teamwork going on.
Its a shame they only got a little bit of screen time in the series
They are much more difficult in their original appearance, Super Castlevania 4... Although they are fought in individual rooms. They are both in the final stage though.
Best anime of this year
so many references to symphony of the night, I love it
If you're a fire-breathing demon, don't mess with a fire elemental mage ie. someone who can control what you rely on.
Sypha is such a badass!
1:10 is just awesome! I like how they're not just mindless beasts, they work together and set up combos with each other to fight him.
This is about as far as I've gotten, but so far the fights in this are really good. The animation in this series is top notch.
This gives me hope that a d&d based show can exist and be good
GhostBlazerX any idea can become a good idea if given proper care and attention
Have you heard the good word of the Legend of Vox Machina by now friend? Your hopes have been fulfilled.
A good D&D based show was already made back in 1990; it's called _Record of Lodoss War._
Bruh. A reference to castlevania bosses is always the best!
I tried to tell my coworker. Sypha is not useless and she can hold her own.
Ya she really does.
if anything trevor seems like the weakest fighter. But he usually plans or delivers a really crucial blow after the other two have thoroughly disrupted the enemy. E.g In this fight he takes out the flying enemy just as it started to frustrate Alucard
If your coworker said something like that before even watching the show, they're probably a misogynist.
imp3rfec4ionist lol he took his L when he watched it. The first season gave him a bad impression of her when Trevor saved her
@@Hawko1313 The flying demon and the spear-wielding ones are Gaibon and Slogra from the Castlevania games btw. Just for future reference.
Alucard is carrying this group!; Man, these guys are nothing without Sypha; Trevor is such dead weight to Sypha and Alucard!; etc”
Everyone has their part to play in winning their fights, and this teamwork stays connected throughout the entire season!
Oh dang, Slogra and Gaibon.
[cues up Festival of Servants]
Everyone is talking about how the protagonists are fighting but can we talk about the coordination and skill these low tier henchman are showing!! it feels like an actual life or death fight rather than the daily grind before we fight a boss
I love how for the most part even very minor demons in this show are very obviously competent instead of just being fodder to inflate the characters' egos
My god I love Sypha, she is so versatile with the elemental magic, so deadly
You can tell when it’s Isaac’s night creatures they tend to incorporate teamwork in their fights.
So many like who?
@@kaihedgie1747 I'll start with Rey "Palpatine".
Dare I need to list the evidence lol
@@huddahhuddah3315 Actually, yes you do.
@@kaihedgie1747 From the get go, we're introduced to Rey as someone who seems pretty darn independent. Fine, cool, she has been on a remote desert planet for much of her life since her parents left, that can be understandable. (This is episode 7 by the way)
But throughout the movie without any explicable knowledge of the force or how it works, she just suddenly becomes a prodigy whereas the greatest Jedi known to the universe at the time was Luke Skywalker, and even he had to go through training with Master Yoda, and CONTINUED his training as depicted in the canon comics.
The epitome of "mary sue with no training defeats Dark Lord of the Sith strong enough to resurrect himself through the force after years of death."
This is the reason I love Sypha so much.
@@huddahhuddah3315 Your criticisms can just as easily be applied to her male predecessors, but before that
No, she does not become a "prodigy" in any sense. You want to focus solely on Episode VII but ignore her training moving forward. There is also nothing to suggest prodigious talent
As opposed to Luke failing tests on Dagobah, but still being able to beat Vader, someone who was not only an actual prodigy, but has been trained in the Force since he was a child and has been in far more lightsaber battles?
1:49 onwards.... this is how it's done kids.i love this scene... this is some medieval fire bending shit.
Alucard: *mumbles*
Fan girls: *die*
1:51 Sypha
My turn boys. 😂❤
Sypha is super badass, I love her, she could be like damsel in distress but she is super useful, she actually do stuff and do it right.
Pretty much all Castlevania gals are like that, wait until they show Maria Renard, Charlotte Aulin, Yoko Belnades and specially Shanoa in action.
1:54 fire bender
That ‘no further.....’ sounded so epic
